Well it had to happen one day. I get ill all the time at home so I was bound to lose at least some holiday time due to my stomach playing silly buggers and evidently today was the day. I woke up feeling awful and in a lot of pain. Wed all planned on going to Universal/Islands of Adventure again so Scott sent the others on ahead. He fancied a sleep in anyway and my stomach pains nearly always cleared up after a few hours. The others agreed to wait at Terminator at 12.30 for 10 mins, if we didnt show up theyd assume we werent coming and carry on themselves.
I woke up at about 11 and felt fine so we got dressed and headed to the park via Dunkin Donuts. We got to Terminator at 12.45 and the others had left, we must have missed them by moments. We decided to circle the park doing several rides I hadnt done last time as well as favourites like Men in Black and Terminator. We helped E.T return to his home planet and joined Doc Brown on a visit to the future, or was that the past?? I also plucked up the courage to do some slightly scarier sounding rides including Twister and Earthquake, Twister was one of my favourite movies as a kid and Im still fascinated by them now. The ride was good but not fantastic, Earthquake was far better. We grabbed a slice of cheesecake at the Beverley Hills Boulangerie before heading over to Islands of Adventure.
We circled the lake anti clockwise as normal, kicking off in Seuss Landing with the Cat in the Hat and the Caro-Seuss-El which were great fun. I debated trying out the Flying Unicorn at The Lost Continent but couldnt face the drops so we wandered over to Jurassic Park instead. We went to the Discovery Centre but found it closed for the day which was a big disappointment. I consoled myself with a visit to the gift shop and a Jurassic Park pressed penny. Scott decided he couldnt be bothered to do the water rides even though hed brought a change in his rucksack so we bypassed Toon Lagoon and headed straight for Marvel Super Hero Island. The park was due to close very soon so we just had time to do one last ride, Spiderman won no contest. We managed to get a ride vehicle all to ourselves which was strange! Out in the gift shop I browsed around and found a mug for my sister who is a mad Spiderman fan. By now it was 7 so we were herded out of the park. As we walked back to the car we realised we didnt have a key to the apartment so we couldnt get back in. We decided to go back anyway and see if anyone was there.
We arrived at the apartment and found a note stuck to the door from Linda. She said that she and Graham had gone to Downtown Disney for the evening and that Roger was at Dennys around the corner with a key. We nipped over and found him halfway through a surprisingly large omelette. We filled each other in on the day, turned out they had left Universal when we didnt show up at Terminator and had spent the afternoon at the Mall instead. Probably a good thing we didnt look too hard for them in the parks. Me and Scott had decided to got to T.G.I Fridays one night as its my favourite eatery in the UK. We borrowed Rogers key and changed in the apartment, he arrived back from Dennys before we left so we left him with the key as he wanted a night alone at the pool.
We drove to T.G.I Fridays and ate there; the food wasnt nearly as good as in the UK, strange as Id fallen in love with the place on a trip to Washington DC a few years previously. The portions were good and the food bearable though so we sat and watched American football on the TV screens by the bar as we ate. After dinner we drove over to Downtown Disney to grab a bit of shopping. I bought a picture frame Id spotted a few days previously and I spotted about a million billion other things that could easily have found a nice home in Leeds! We drove back when the shops shut to find Graham and Linda already relaxing on the sofa. Theyd eaten at Subway and the wrappers made me decide to try a sub before we went back home. We decided that tomorrow would be our last Disney day but we all wanted to do different parks. Finally we decided that Roger would do Blizzard Beach in the morning, Linda and Graham would do EPCOT and wed do Animal Kingdom. Then wed all meet up in EPCOT for the afternoon before Scott, Roger and I went to Magic Kingdom for the evening.
