The crown, scepter & orb will be next seen at the ceremonial coronation of King Charles.

As far as the jewels or stones.. if they haven’t been returned over the past few hundred/thousand of years - they are not likely to be going anywhere now..

It is a broader topic, more and more countries in Asia and Africa asked artifacts back from museums. Most western museums just ignore the requests, but sometimes items are returned.

Dear lord. Thank god the Corgi's are not featured on CNN's coverage. That would do me in.

They were on NBC. That was the moment I became a complete mess. I teared up any time the bagpipes played, but the doggies did me in.

India would love to get those diamonds back. I read this morning that out of respect they didn't start discussion this week, but it might start soon.

Some articles have stated King Charles will use the same crown, rather than a different one. Its a wait an see, if he chooses something different, my uniform will change as we currently wear the crown of the Queen.

BBC coverage was so dignified and respectful and not full of filler commentary. No one does Pomp and Circumstance like the British.

And thank you Prince Philip for insisting that Elizabeth's coronation be televised. I am sure we would still have seen this today even if the coronation wasn't televised but you opened the door for us.

According to that article Earl Spencer (Diana's brother) is one of the Queen's god children. Interesting and explains his presence.

And that was 2 days not 10 with all the pomp and ceremony the poor royal family has had to deal with. I imagine they are all just completely done in and are planning to eat junk food in their jammies tonight and sleep in tomorrow.

I suspect the King has duties to attend to tomorrow and practically every day in the future, just like his mother did. Hopefully they will be light duties at least for the next week or so.

Yes, and the Spencer family's service to the Crown goes back generations. Diana's father was equerry to the Queen and George VI. Several members of the family have been in the Order of the Garter. Her sister's husband was a private secretary to the Queen. And so on. I suspect his presence had less to do with Diana and more with the overall relationship of the family to the Crown.

I did just fine until the pipes and drums played The Skye Boat Song. We played that at my mum's funeral. Then came the pony and the corgis and I was a blubbering mess until the coffin descended

I have that with bagpipes in general. We played Caledonia at my father's funeral. In a version with bagpipes. Always make me sad.

Thinking this will be the last royal anything besides the coronation for a good while. Maybe a few baby announcements from the Yorks or wedding for Lady Louise if that is televised.
No jubilees, royal weddings etc.

The small details of the day are now being reported.. The myrtle that was in the floral arrangement was grown all these years from a cutting rooted from the myrtle in the Queen’s wedding bouquet.
