Queen Elizabeth funeral and looking forward

I don't think we will ever see a funeral like this in the Western world ever again.

I think when King Charles passes away, we will see a lot of pomp and ceremony, as is custom with British royal events. However, I do wonder if he will want it slimmed down for his own funeral.

Ok, I am back on the ship and can watch the procession properly .

Just noticed that the Dutch royals were seated opposite Charles, Camilla and other children on the front row. Next to Denmark (?) And Spain(?), didnt know we were that close.

I wonder too....and I honestly think that he'll reign for 20-ish years....and I say this respectfully, but he won't warrant this same kind of send off. It seems to me that much of this is because of Elizabeth.

I absolutely agree. She was an amazing ambassador of good will. That’s as much of this as anything. I’m willing to give Charles a fresh look (understanding that my thoughts and opinions matter only to me) but the jury is still out on whether he will be able to bring people together the way The Queen did.

I mean this is no disrespect to you Brits out there but I’m kind of getting tired of your new PM.i mean she is everywhere. And she’s only PM for one week and because Johnson quit and her party choose her. They could have chosen many others with historical/ personal value over her for this reading.

From what I read, it’s possible she will not be there, given that they are divorced. Mark Philips is the Queen’s oldest grandson and was in the procession right behind Harry. Here’s a picture:

I missed seeing Fergie, not that I watched too closely or for very long. But I’m glad she was invited to be there.

And she is living with Andrew and still part of that family. I believe they took walks together seeing they spent much time on the same estate.. Who knows, maybe during covid they kept each other company in private with walks. Plus she got one of the Corgis too.

Yes, Sarah Ferguson was there, sat next to Princess Eugenie.
One of the Phillips children was watching part of the lying in state, but I'm not sure which one. I didn't see them at the funeral though.

They are driving to Windsor. I am watching CNN's coverage and they keep showing shots from inside St George's Chapel so I'm assuming there will be news coverage of that ceremony as well but I'm not certain.

Sarah was there.. she arrived with her daughters. Sarah had remained close to the Queen, in the months of declining health of the Queen, Sarah would come by to take the corgi’s out for walks etc… which is why the corgi’s and the 2 other royal dogs are going to live with the York’s at their Royal Hall residence near Windsor Castle
