Good morning. Temp is only 63 right now going to the low 80's. I can live with that.

It;s been busy around here. Ella got her license but I still wound up driving her to work. Her car had work done on it but the engine light kept coming on. The ignition coils were misfiring one at a time. I had a disagreement with our mechanic, not sure my car will be going back there because of it. My neighbors recommended the one they used so I had Ella take the car there. The issue was a coil again but they recommended getting the last 3 replace at one time. Financially it made sense. One coil at a time was around $750, the last three combined was $1000 total. I lent her the money and now she is happy and promises to pay me back over her next 2 or 3 paychecks as it is on my credit card.

Jim has been cleared to get the surgery on his toe and my daughter is happy to finally find out why she has ITP. It's a fancy word for non-specified low platelets. Jim has the same disorder although we can't understand how it was never caught before now. The drs. will give him something to boost his platelet counts right before surgery. The normal treatment is steroids but since he is diabetic they will try something else. She also wasn't overly concerned as it's a minimally invasive procedure on a toe. He'll have to wait til I get back from DIsney though as it will take at least a month to get a date for the OR and a month of recovery. I leave in less than 2 months and the trip is paid off so I can't postpone, especially since I am travelling with a friend.

My dad is doing ok. Minor issue, ok MAJOR issue to me, with an LPN but she has been better so maybe she had a bad day. It can happen, or maybe somebody else reported her attitude. Dad took 5 steps which was a HUGE accomplishment. He will probably be in rehab for another month and then home. We are getting mom to do as much as she can while she has the time because once he comes home she will not leave him alone. Dad also has been diagnosed with mild dementia. It's going to be hard on my mom. But on the good news side they adopted a puppy yesterday. Their dog is 16+ and not doing well. Mom knows she has to make that difficult decision soon but every time she tries talking to dad he starts getting very upset and cries. This may help ease the transition. Dad named the puppy Spirit. This is Spirit. Shes a 9-week-old Golden Doodle

Mom said she will only be 25-30 pounds. I think mom is deluding herself as Spirit's paws are huge.

I have had a bit of an issue with a couple of neighbors recently. The one neighbor had a cat that was always outside. 100-degree weather, thunderstorms, it didn't matter the cat was outside. She kept showing up on my doorstep so my next-door neighbor that I share the steps with and I took turns leaving food and water out for her. The next-door neighbor even said something to the owners who responded, "she's an outdoor cat and we feed her so what's the problem?" The problem is they are bad owners. The cat disappeared about 2 weeks ago. The next-door neighbor and my husband found someone to take her in. By all accounts the cat is very content and has not tried to get out at all, so much for being an outdoor cat. Last night the daughter came pounding on my door demanding her cat since she knows the cat is in my house. I have 3 of my own, no she isn't, and I can honestly say I don't know where she is. A neighbor who has been hanging out with this family, odd in and of itself but they all like to drink and get high so that makes sense, popped out from behind a car shouting obscenities and I have the cat in my house. I responded by slamming my door shut. Now I am a little concerned about what they plan to do. Thankfully I do have a security camera out front so I can keep an eye out. They can't access my back without climbing a few fences although the obscenity yelling person can see my backyard from the house she is staying at. I have to warn my grandson to keep an eye out while he is here working.

On a positive note Anthony is playing baseball again and the best birthday present for me ever is I am going to his game today. I cannot wait to see him in action again.

Hope you all have a great day

Judique Great news. I hope you can get the MRI scheduled soon. Sounds like you have a good plan for your travels.

Tazdev Glad your Dad is making some progress in rehab. I hope you have a great time at Anthony's ball game.

Good morning. It is in the fifties this morning with temps heading to 78. Yesterday was a beautiful day. I went to see Jeff and family. Jeff, the 3 younger ones, and I went to a playground near where I used to live. They love the playground and we had a nice time. They loved getting ice cream from the ice cream truck. I had a nice day with them. Ellie and Mom were at a birthday party. I brought birthday gifts for Jeff and Aimee. Their birthdays are 2 weeks apart. Jeff will be 36 on the 11th. Time flies! So far today I have been to the gym and cleaned the shower in the 2nd bathroom. I may make pasta primavera today depending on how the day goes. All I do is roast some veggies and mix it in with whole wheat pasta, olive oil, and garlic.

Have a good Sunday.

Good morning. Sleeping with the windows open was a treat last night. Temp went down to 53. It's 62 now going to 80, I can live with that. Only going to be 78 and 80 all week, slight chances of rain Wed-Sat, but we'll need it by then.

Summer called me last night all upset. I thought something else happened to the car, but that wasn't it. She happened to text her mother, she had some deliveries out this way and was going to stop by and see her. Mary's reply was that Luke was there and they were playing cards. So once again, Luke shows his true colors. Didn't bother telling anyone else he was coming up this way. I told Summer if she felt that upset, she should call her mother and tell her exactly why. Then Mary texted her back, and said he was only staying tonight, that he was having breakfast with a friend and then going to play a round of golf. I find it hard to believe that someone made a 41/2 hour drive each way, to have breakfast and play a round of golf, but whatever. Then she got another text that said Summer could go there if she wanted. Summer passed, they don't want her around and make her uncomfortable, so why put herself through it. As for myself, he's shown how he feels and I'm glad he didn't tell me he was coming, because I don't want to see him and I have nothing to say to him.

I'm going to mow after the morning dew dries off. Tiger is sitting on the arm of the chair again. She was there all morning yesterday until the sun reached the deck and it started getting warm.

Have a good Sunday everyone

The temperature was so nice I was able to sit on the deck for a bit before dinner.

Dinner was very good but I had a little reflux so didn't eat much. Fell asleep while resting and woke up and went into the kitchen to clean up. DD cooks, and I usually clean up. Old 17 yo cat came in and was making a racket. He is not shy and can be very loud. As it turned out his fountain needed some water. He seemed to want more dinner but I know he would taste it and walk away. He just wants to know he can get it. Eventually he went back upstairs.

DDil and her mother took my soon to be 3 yo granddaughter to see Sesame Street at the Kennedy Center this afternoon. Son stayed home and babysat my 7 month old grandson. Looked like all had a wonderful time. They texted a very cute picture of her out on the terrace with the Washington Monument in the background.

Lynn Sorry for the family issues with Luke. Summer is fortunate to have you in her life to talk with and get advice from.

@flyingdumbo127 I hope you hear positive news soon.

Good morning. It is 59 now with temps heading into the mid 80s today. Yesterday was a quiet day. It is difficult when I have a weekend day alone but it is what it is. I did housework, walking, gym, made pasta primavera which was good, read a book, and watched Holidazed on Hallmark plus. It was funny at work on Thursday when everyone was talking about all the series they watch on the all streaming channels. I think some of them spend alot of money, more than cable, for those services. My boss named an amount that she spends and I was in shock. They named all these high profile series on TV. They asked me what I watch and I said Hallmark and old comedies. But usually I am reading so it the TV is background noise. I do want to watch The Pitt but would have to get HBO Max. Not sure I want to spend the money. I do want Britbox more so maybe I will get that one. I have Amazon Prime too but rarely use it.

Off to another busy work day. Have a nice day.

Ooh, that sounds good.

Love the duck picture, Lynn. Sorry about the family drama.

@tazdev3225, the puppy is adorable!!

Great news on the biopsy, @Judique, and glad you were able to help the neighbor with AC issues!

The flea market went really well this weekend - record numbers, and we had some excellent new helpers. I was exhausted last night after two days of both being on my feet and "peopling" so much, but it was very successful and now we can rest until the next big event. 😆

Oh my, you just described most of my entertainment when it comes to any sort of screen other than reading on the internet. And that has taken a turn since AI seems to have impacted almost every search.

I've only considered Britbox because I like the British comedies. I haven't paid for cable since the late 80ties. Cable has been here but I cut it off when I figured out my 5 year old son would wake up and be on it at midnite and much later, long after I had sent him to bed. MTV especially. No I couldn't hear it. Anyway oldest DD was a key conspirator as she also watched but was more likely to be asleep at the later hours. Cut it off and problem solved.

Fast forward to early jobs while in high school. DD worked at Blockbuster and DS worked for Target and Walmart, where the paychecks went back to the stores mostly. Eventually both of them worked for Comcast/Xfinity until out of school and college. So free cable and internet for quite a few years. Then they paid for it as I still felt no need. After they fledged, younger DD took over.

Meanwhile I'm pretty uninformed when it comes to what is popular in modern culture. I'm just not interested enough and have my own outlets and hobbies and home/house work to tend to.

Not so long ago I could just open a browser and find current events. Now it is manufactured stories with a disclaimer. I have to 'know' what I want to read to find news. I feel as if there is a huge media attempt to guide us in our critical thinking and more and more I have to look for different points of view to stay informed. It's not reporting anymore, versus trying to entertain us and at the same time win us over to a point of view that is someone else's agenda.

I've had Amazon Prime for years and don't really take advantage of this part of it. I mostly use the free delivery and get it same day for stuff I may want.

I've had streaming available if I were to want it as well as Disney+ and other stuff as family does it all. There are two smart tv's in my house and one hooked up to the cable box as it isn't smart enough I guess. It's time is limited until I find a smart screen that is smaller to fit the room it's in. That may be a struggle.

Still I'm mostly happy in my own little world. I don't like to be told how I should think so I'll always be wary of the 'newer' tech, but will find ways to keep informed in reality.

Oh, and I'm spending more time on this little screen since my back went out as I'm still in pain and can't do the physical things which I guess filled my life more than I realized.

Good morning everyone,

Today, I have the miracle of the way to a complete recovery. God has graced me with exactly who I need to work with to get as strong and back to normal as possible. Please pray that the director of this place will finally join over 50 others in full support of me by giving me his written consent today to get the incomparable care I need. Zero cost to him, a lifeline to me. Thank you for all your kind prayers and support and keeping specifics to PM's too. I am trying to protect privacy.

I have been streaming FRNDLY TV for quite some time now. It is expensive for me at $10 a month but it enables me to DVR and watch movies on my Kindle. I have access to Hallmark, Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, Hallmark Family, and Great American Family among other channels. I believe FRNDLY does offer a free trial.

Monday joy to all!

Good morning. Another beautiful day, temp may hit 80, but the humidity is so much lower that it doesn't feel that warm outside.. We could use a few showers sprinkled in.

I did the lawn yesterday , yes again, every 3-4 days just to keep up with it.

Summer texted me a pic of a car last night. It was parked in a yard all the way at the end of my road, and she spotted it while delivering Walmart orders. 2014, 196,000 miles, $2500 or best offer. I told her that's already a lot of miles on an 11 year old car (I have a 2017, but only just turned 25,000). She said she was going to text her mother and ask her if she wanted to buy her a car. Mary's response, about 2 hours later was 'no, but I'll drive you on your deliveries.' I don't see that happening. Summer deliverers from early morning to late night sometimes, all over the place. I can't see Mary going out of her way to do that. Summer was going to ask the lady she pet sits for if she would loan it to her. She said this lady loaned her the money for the truck and she paid it all back, which I don't believe. Summer has never paid back a loan in her life, which is why we wouldn't loan it to her. If we could afford to give it to her, we did, if not, then she had to find another way.

I'm trying to stay out of it, and she keeps texting and calling me about all of it, so it's impossible for me to ignore. I keep telling her I can't do it, I've put more money into her vehicles in the last 2 years than I've put into mine. The only thing mine has needed was a new battery and oil changes.

Not sure I'm going to get into too much. My stomach isn't feeling 100% today.

Have a good one

That sounds like a good package! We have cable right now because it's bundled with our phone/internet, but if we ever ditch it, I'll look into that!

Exactly!
