Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Snow, snow, snow! I was out playing in it and pushing it off my driveway. The early stuff was Snowman quality. I didn't make one. Figured my neighbors would think I went off the deep end! Now it's more icy snow falling. Temp is 28 right now and it's supposed to snow all night but go up to 32 so it will get slippery. Not driving anywhere and DD will work from home tomorrow.

To all in the snow zone, stay safe and warm. We are getting some messy stuff tonight into tomorrow and again over the weekend.

@flyingdumbo127 Thinking of you and hoping you are getting better and stronger.

Good morning. It is 18 here now with temps heading to low 30s. I am so glad my boss is doing the deposits this week so I do not have to go into the office. Tomorrow morning is supposed to be snowy, icy, freezing rain, rain, slippery, and not a good day to commute to work. I am grateful to have a good boss and good coworkers. We have all worked together for all the years I have been in the group, almost 17 years. Yesterday I went to market basket to get a few things and then wandered around the shopping area a bit. I needed to get steps in. Today more errands before tomorrow's bad weather.

Have a good day.

Same here on the errands. I have an on-line class this morning, but will do some running around this afternoon.

I seem to have gotten home from Florida just in time, as we had a short layover in Baltimore yesterday just as the snow was starting there.

It was a quick trip, but a nice one. We went out on my uncle's boat on Saturday with my cousin who was also visiting from Texas, walked around Mt. Dora on Sunday, visited some other family near Daytona on Monday, and then had a fun wrap-up dinner out Monday night.

Here are a couple of scenery pics:

And a cool "heart" I took from the plane:

Everything is white out but not snowing right now. Supposed to get a wintry mix around 3 and the temp is above freezing and continuing up higher so most should melt away. Tomorrow is more rain and a high of 49 degrees.

We had to get the roof rake out and both of us took turns pulling the snow down. It was so thick up there I was afraid of ice dams. Don't need that headache.

In a bit I'm going out to brush the rest of my car. I did it last night but it snowed all over it again.

@PollyannaMom, I've been to Mt Dora with my brother and his wife. They may want to go back but I'm thinking off Blue Springs. Will see where they want to go. I'd like to do a lot of stuff.

@FlyingDumbo hope you are doing well.

@bobbiwoz - no outside lunch for me either. I just had leftovers.

@lynxstch bring back some warm weather.

@Snowysmom - sorry but I think you are winning the 'too cold for me' contest!

Stay safe and warm. Summers coming.

Now that brings back memories! My grandmother lived in Mt. Dora after my grandfather passed away. After a few years she moved to a placed called Watermans Village. Geez, I think that was around 1993-ish? I haven't been to Mt. Dora in years and years! Is it still a bit of a artists town?

Quick hi to everyone. Lynn I hope your latest trip to HI was wonderful! Sounds like it was just beautiful. We got some of the snow overnight, I guess about 4 or 5". I think we are expecting rain or freezing rain later this afternoon.

Flyingdumbo - I'm sorry the facility you are in isn't the best, but I'm so very glad you are getting the care you must have really needed. I wish you continued good luck in your recovery and PT, hope you are back on your feet and moving real soon.

Well, our friends had come to Cape May yesterday, before the weather. So, since the temperature climbed into 40’s and the rain has melted much of the snow, we had a wonderful lunch at Lucky Bones. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, and we enjoyed a very nice visit. They couldn’t come to our house…no parking spaces….the very wet slush isn’t navigable for us. Luckily our parking pad wasn’t hard for Tom to clear enough for me to get to with my walker!

Quick hug and hi with all my love. Sincerely thank you all more than I can say for everything. I absolutely thank God for each of you.

Dad just left which is so hard on us both. This place really gets drearier as the day gets later. Not a healthy or positive place at all. Sadly the care often goes downhill as well. From hour+ wait times for assistance to not being cleaned or having the help light turned off BEFORE help is given to having someone at the front desk not know who I am when I tried getting help that way, I have experienced all of that and thensome.

What I mean by the help light is this room has two beds separated by a few feet and a green shower curtain. My elderly roommate has the first bed nearest the door. My bed is by glass patio doors with blinds on them. The one help light is on my roommate's wall. We each have a help button. When one of us presses the help button, it lights up on her side. Dad has said there is also a red light above our door.

More than once a nurse will zip in here check on my roommate (who seems to have her own two nurses who each come a few hours during the day) and hurry out without checking on me. I am still waiting 2 days later to talk with the CNA Supervisor to share and try and resolve this. I do also want to compliment a few great CNA's to him.

I do have daily PT for about twenty minutes. I do some exercises and try my best to move more in bed on my own. The PT is always kind and has said I am making progress. Step by step.

Dad did go back to the other facility and spoke with the admissions person. He shared what my needs are and the sad truth of this place. We are waiting for the other place (Dad definitely felt it would be a big improvement over this one) to have an opening. We also need the social worker here to send my information there. We will keep looking for other options. Day to day is hard. I want to go home so badly. We are only human after all. Always and in all ways how blessed I am. How great is God! I know He long has this, dad and I perfectly.

So love to all and thank you again to all who have sent me a card. I apologize for not PMing individually. I will try to keep in touch though. Please stay warm and well friends. Take care of yourselves and remember God loves you. I care, too.

@flyingdumbo127 I am sorry you are in a facility that is not taking care of your needs. That is hard for sure. I truly hope that a bed opens up in the facility that your Dad went to visit. Wishing you continued progress with PT so you can get stronger.

Not a contest I want to win! :)

PollyannaMom Lovely pictures. Glad you got home safely before the bad weather.

Lynn Safe travels back home.

Good morning. It is 31 here today which is a heat wave for early morning. Temps are heading to near 40. It is a slushy mess outside right now. We had snow and now are in the freezing rain/rain area. Kenny's kids have a 2 hour delay for school. So far Jeff's town has not canceled or delayed. He is closer to Boston so they are getting mostly rain. Maybe I need to get back to that area just for the better weather! LOL! Maybe some day. This weather should pass by early afternoon.

Have a good day. Stay safe and warm.

Good morning! Since temperature has been in the 40’s all night, and rain, the snow and slush is nearly all gone.

Unfortunately, although the amaryllises show leaves, no flower bud has appeared, so maybe an off year for them.

@flyingdumbo127, I do pray you can get into a better place. I am glad to hear that the PT person is good, and you are working hard to get better.

@lynxstch, welcome back to mainland USA!

Good morning. Back on the mainland, sad to have left, glad to have had a wonderful time. I miss it already.

Will catch up when I get home tomorrow, I've only been skimming threads.

Have a good day

We still have a lot of white and slush. Hope later today's temp takes it out. At the same time, I'm sure this water will help raise the reservoirs here for our coming hot summer. A mixed blessing!

I sure hope this winter has ended the drought. The meteorologist that gave the “Lunch and Learn” talk in November has been wrong in EVERY prediction of South Jersey’s weather this winter. He said the drought would not worsen, but it would still exist. Well, let’s hope that is wrong as well.

Good morning. It is 18 degrees here now with temps heading to 30. After a messy weather day yesterday it will be nice to have a break. We got snow, freezing rain, and rain. I had to shovel a slushy mess from the end of my driveway. I actually just pushed it to the side. No way I was going to try to lift that. Tomorrow more snow is coming in the late afternoon followed on Sunday by more snow, freezing rain, and rain. We are supposed have some icing. The weather people say 3-6 inches of snow but the app on my phone says 10-12! I am going with the weather people. I blame the groundhog for seeing his shadow! I am going to Jeff's tomorrow morning for a visit and to drop off the Valentine bags I have for the kids. Today I am doing some self care.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Currently in CO, but heading for home this evening. Just in time for another possible dose of ice from what I see on the weather. More snow coming on Thursday. Not going to make me glad I'm home. We're already plotting our next trip, lol

I miss my furbaby's, but I do not miss winter or the weather.

Have a good day everyone
