Bobbi, how is Gus doing?

Gus is failing, slowly. Sometimes his breathing is very labored. His growth on one leg is the size of a tennis ball for sure. He still loves to sit or lay on my feet when we’re watching TV. He still wants some special time with Tom after we think he’s ready for bed.

We both treasure this time with Gus.

Lynn So sorry for the family drama. It seems like times like these can bring out the worst in people. You do what you know is right and they can just simmer.

Good morning. It is a bit cooler this morning at 65. We got some storms in last evening. Yesterday was so hot. I went to the gym instead of walking outside. Then I got some deli roast beef for a sandwich for dinner. Market Basket was not very crowded so I did a bit of shopping after the gym. They are both in the same shopping area. I had a nice time with Allison on Wednesday. After she toured my condo which does not take long, we went to lunch. We talked alot as we always do. She knows I went backwards with the whole registry debacle so she gave me a pep talk. I am trying, that is all I can say. She still has a bit of a roller coaster ride sometimes even after almost 8 years. Today the painters are supposed to come to paint the deck door and trim which was only primed, not painted. Now the primer is peeling. Last time they were scheduled they never showed up. I am at the point of letting Kenny do it for me. Then I will know it will get done well. I like my condo and most of the people here but if I had it to do over again I am not sure I would have bought here just because of the builder issues. Those have been enormous and stressful. The kids tell me I could have bought an already built condo and had issues that I would have had to fix. But, the way I look at it, I could have had them fixed my way by my choice of contractors. This builder and his minions are not good. Now I want to find a local heating and cooling company for annual maintenance on the AC and furnace.

Goood morning! Expecting another warm day. Because of the ocean breezes we are not in a terrible heat wave.

Yesterday we didn’t swim because there was an event in the Cape May library that I wanted to attend. The library building was just opened last week! The building was built in the 1920’s as a school for African American children. It closed in 1948 when NJ prohibited segregation. Then in 1960 it became a vocational school. It was also used for community meetings and eventually it was acquired with the intention of preserving this bit of Cape May History.

The library renovation is remarkable. There’s an elevator for four floors, basement, ground, mezzanine and second floor. These partitions, with inlaid blackboards are still on the second floor where the presention was.

The renovation is beautiful, especially all the wood, floors and wood trims.

The presentation was a satire on Women Suffrage! Excellent!

Good morning. The heat wave continues. We have warnings for excessive heat today and tomorrow. I think it's been that way all week.

Got into it with the bad neighbor again. It's bad enough he put up a wire fence next to his stockade fence, and put it 3 feet on my property. Yesterday he puts new stockade fence up across the front and leaves the last piece past the wire fence and it's 23" more on my property. I asked him to move it yesterday, he refused. This morning he was out and I was out. I asked him if he was going to move it or at least cut it even. He said no. I told him I'd call the county and complain and then have the property surveyed. He said I didn't have to do that, he would cut it back a foot. I said you'll cut it back 23" or I'm done with all of it. It's been a war with them for the last 5 years and I've had enough. I don't want wars with my neighbors. He finally agreed to cut it even with the other fence. I'll let it go for now, but if he pulls anything else, I'm having it surveyed, making him move it back on his own side (he's also claiming his son moved the property markers before we moved in and put them 3 feet on our side, and then moved them back (I know he moved them once because I have it on video. It's illegal to move property markers in the first place, and who is going to move it onto a neighbors property and then move it back? lol
He says he'll cut it. I told him he has until Monday or I'll take further action

I'm not in the mood for this. After going through all of what happened Wednesday and arguing with this guy yesterday and now again today, I'm ready to scream.

I'm going to do laundry and then find a show to watch. It's too hot outside already to do anything and I don't feel like cleaning.

Lynn I hope you have had some chill time and calm.

Good Morning. It is a dreary one here today and a bit foggy and drizzly. I went to Wegman's first thing to get cupcakes for Jeff and family. Jeff invited me over for a BBQ for dinner. Looking forward to that. Kenny is coming over tomorrow to fix a few things for me. My bathroom sink is slow to drain and I can't get off the drain stopper. Then he is filling in the settling cracks in the basement. I hope he has time to put up some pics for me. I am abysmal at measuring to put up pics on the wall. I can do OK with one or two but I have 6 that are pics of the grandkids and I would make a mess of it. I just did some online shopping for the cruise. I got a long tiered navy blue skirt and cabernet colored blouse for dinners. I also bought a new bathing suit at Land's End on sale. It goes with my SPF shirt I wear when at the beach or pool which is about once every couple of years. I needed some retail therapy.

Good morning. We're already at 83 and heading for close to 100. I'm already tired of summer weather and it's only been summer for 2 days, lol

I went out early and weedwacked inside and outside the garden, retied a couple of the tomato plants, and gave them a dose of Miracle Gro. I see a few zucchini summer squash on the plants, which made me happy. I should have gotten the tiller out and gone between the rows, but it was already getting too warm.

Going to stay in where it's cool and work on the yard sale stuff.

Good Saturday morning!

We had two super hot days but yesterday was beautiful, perfect weather, and looks like another one for today @ 74 degrees right now. We had a lot of pool time and thankfully, the AC.

Lynn, I think you should, without fanfare/discussion/argument, just have the survey done. Sounds like they've screwed things up. Don’t get into it with him, people are crazy.

Oh, my @ PollyannaMom. DD’s boyfriend has a motorcycle and it makes me nervous! She is not going on it. A friend’s son just got one, too.

Still working on the apartment this week, and gotten lots done. But still have a ways to go. Keeping it going this morning, then this afternoon I have a haircut and DH and I will get a bite to eat somewhere. DD is going to an art class later with an old friend, and DS will probably be at the beach with his crew. We had a bunch of kids over the other day during the heat. Fun, but crazy! We were pooped afterward! Lol.

Good morning. Another dreary day with rain so far. It looks like clouds later. Temps are supposed to get into the 80s. I had a nice time with Jeff and family. The kids were crazy yesterday with running all over the house and making up running games. We did play a couple of card games. Jeff's BBQ food was really good especially the pulled pork. Kenny is coming by this morning to help me out with some things. He is kind enough to help when he has time. On the not so good news front I talked with Chris' cousin who has been fighting cancer since 2014. He has another recurrence, again on the brain. This is his 10th. He talks with his team on Tuesday to discuss treatment. It seems like it came back quicker this time. Please say a prayer for him.
