The Lemon Greek Chicken turned out very delicious!
I actually went for seconds, but then couldn’t finish them! (Put away for later.)

What DH did this time was use the juice and zest of three lemons (we like it really lemony), his grandmother’s olive oil (lol), salt, pepper, a small bit of Italian spices, (eta garlic, onion flakes), red pepper flakes, and a good amount of parsley. Mixed it with the potatoes and the boneless skinless chicken thighs (separately), then put them in a pan with the chicken touching the bottom, added potatoes and lemon slices, and baked for one hour at 350, turning the heat up in the last 20 mins or so to 425. So good!

Easyas Thoughts and prayers for your DH's surgery.

Pea That dinner looks delicious. I hope you continue to feel better.

Mona I like hearing about the progress you are making each day.

Lynn and dazedx3 Thinking of you.

I am off to the doctor in a bit. I am leaving extra early as I have no idea how the traffic will be. If I am in the area early I will go to Market Basket and pick up a few nonperishable items. I do not want to be hurrying. Kenny took the kids for their covid and flu shots yesterday. I went along to help out. They were very brave and very good. They were bribed with candy and a toy. After the doctor I will get some coffee, go walking, and do some errands. Salad and pizza tonight for supper, for me comfort food.

Have a good day.

Happy Friday!!!:dogdance:

Snowysmom - I think we're getting the same weather prediction as you.☔

Easyas123 - good luck with your husband's surgery next week. My sister is having a knee replacement surgery the first week of January, she has her helpers all lined up. I'm still trying to work from home on Fridays so I can get her to her dr's appointments on those days.🤞

Watched the last season of The Crown last night while I wrapped Xmas presents.👑 Got them all wrapped, will be stopping at Kroger today after work to buy all the gift cards that I need. I changed up the menu for Xmas Eve. We're planning to just do appetizers instead of a big dinner but I thought maybe we should have something more than just snacks. I'm going to order a finger sandwich tray from the butcher's and pick that up Xmas Eve morning.

I work Saturday night so not too bad for the weekend. For some odd reason, the Bengals play Saturday instead of Sunday 🏈. I would have liked to get a nap in before work but I think I'll be watching the game instead. Hopefully I can sleep in and that will help. Sunday Evan and Mia are tagging along with me for a trip to the international grocery store, Jungle Jim's. I want to get Mitchell's dog some fancy dog treats since I'm not getting her a toy (she tears up every single toy she's had) and we'll walk around and see what else we can find. The place is huge and its more of a sight-seeing destination.

If they don't take Mia to see Santa this weekend then I already made an appointment at Bass Pro to take her on Thursday to see him.🎅

Back to work, empty office today. Have a great day!

Good morning. 3 more 50 degree days coming up with rain on Sunday and Monday. I'm going to try and get outside to walk a bit today, I alternate between that and the elliptical.

Yesterday was cleaning day. I dusted and vacuumed, washed the kitchen and bathroom floors and did laundry. I had to redecorate the tree again this morning, apparently the newest cat didn't like where the ornaments were last night and pulled a dozen off them off. So I have a different tree every day, lol.

Nothing else new going on. I have a few deliveries coming today, just normal mundane stuff that I was almost out of. Easier than going out to get it. I needed some new lampshades for the living room, so found those and they will be here today. The ones on them now are ancient. Don had them before I even moved here, time for another change.

Both of my sister in law's are trying to talk me into going to their ladies church group Christmas party on Monday, but I don't think I want to. I would feel weird going to it when I don't belong to their church. I feel uncomfortable enough right now around groups of people, never mind a group of people I don't know. I appreciate their asking me, but I don't like being told what I'm going to do.

Off to get my day going, have a nice day.

Prayers for your husband Easyas. May his surgery go very smoothly and his recovery be complete.

Easyas Thoughts and prayers for your DH's surgery.
Best of luck on your DH's upcoming surgery, @easyas123!
Easyas123 - good luck with your husband's surgery next week

Thanks everyone. Good vibes appreciated, forget him - I'll need them ::yes:: my husband hates to sit still when there is work to be done, so I'll be enforcing a week or two of him having to sit tight.:crutches: I've already told him I am parking him down in the basement (can drive around the back of the house and walk in) where he has access to a kitchenette, bathroom, big screen and reclining sofa. It's kind of our big family room area, and where we will enjoy the holiday, so I thought it would be good to get him settled there. Now if I can keep him from hobbling out of the basement to get in a tree stand or the hot tub I'll consider it a win!

It's not a super involved surgery, he'll be longer sitting and waiting and in recovery than he will be under the knife. Anticipating a knee replacement in the coming years but for now this will help him out considerably.

Quick hello as I am busy again

@easyas123 - Hope your husband doesn't drive you to crazy after the surgery/

If you can keep my grandson Anthony in your prayers, I would appreciate it. He recovered from the torn ACL and played baseball this past season. However, try and tell a 16-year-old he shouldn't wrestle, we all did, as did his doctor. Now he wishes he had listened because it looks like he has more surgery coming up. He twisted the bad knee and they think he has a torn meniscus. Serious enough concern that he is getting an MRI on Sunday! He is not speaking to anyone so I know he is going through a ton of emotions. My daughter is also which caused some arguments between us. I am trying to remain optimistic, and she thinks I am oversimplifying the situation. Prayers that it is minor as there is always a chance it is the ACL again.

Off to pick up Michael and some pictures I ordered. I don't know if any of you read about the incident in Reading England a couple years ago where three young men were killed, one an American. The American was the son of a friend and she has had a hard time losing him. In the midst of finally getting all the pictures uploaded I realized I had several pics of her son as a toddler through adult. I printed copies and intend to drop them off to her house. I know she asked for pictures the other day on her birthday. Joe was such a sweet child and even reminds me of my Mikey in some pictures.

Hope you all have a pleasant day

:wave:Good Morning dear Quacker family with love always,

Prayers to all for healing, health, and peace! To always know God loves you and by His grace, I care, too! :)

Thank you for saying that dear Snowysmom. Prayers your doctor appointment went well and that you feel extra comfortable with your new doctor.

Easyas, DH and of course extra you prayer continuing.

Footballmouse, prayers always you and your family are healthy. I hope you aren't having trouble at times the way dad and I are logging into Ralphs online.

Taz, just love and many prayers all-around my friend for health and peace.

Dear Lynn, much extra peace and love to you.

PollyannaMom, hugs, what matters only is YOU and that you my friend are well. Christmas and family stuff=a good combination :)

Last night went a bit better. Early this morning was a bit longer because I got up for the last time a little earlier. Afterwards rather than starting the day, I went back to the chair one more time. When I got up then, my leg/foot weren't happy. I did rest already this morning and thank God dad did, too. Each day by God's Mercy is absolutely getting easier and better, the same with nights. Remembering one week ago, today is an extra miracle of His love. I sure thank all of you for your love and support. Have a great day friends. I will try to check back in later.

Back from the doctor. Of course my BP was higher than it should be. Diastolic was fine but not systolic. I get anxious every time I enter a medical building. She wants me to monitor my BP for a bit. Now I have to find my BP machine. It is either in a box here or at Kenny's. It is not absurdly high, just enough to warrant monitoring. It has been higher in the past. We also discussed my anxiety level (high) and what we can do about it. I told her I walk alot every day. I also mentioned I was thinking of joining a gym again. She was in total agreement with that. So this afternoon I am going to check out a gym about 10 minutes away. I used to belong to Planet Fitness but this gym is closer and has better parking. I am using this appt as a kick in the pants to figure out how to get through this life alone. I believe my BP is higher too because I am so stressed and anxious this holiday season missing Chris and our traditions together. I also need a pneumonia shot which I will schedule and a bone scan which I will do in the spring as I have to drive a bit to get to the facility and I don't want to have to cancel due to weather. I got myself a cup of coffee afterwards and a scone. Then I took a walk at the park, went to a few stores, did some grocery shopping. Now off to the gym.

Have a good evening.

:grouphug:dear Snowysmom♥️Just XOXO. So proud of you and your courageous spirit my friend. Do you enjoy 🏊‍♀️at all? Several friends from church are in a beginner's water aerobics class at the Y that they very much enjoy and find relaxing. Pre pandemic and before she retired, my friend and pastor at church, Pastor L, every Wednesday night offered a very small service of prayer and meditation in the Chapel. Sunday evenings, a similar service was offered. I don't know whether both still are going on. Of course there would be the time difference between us as far as you listening virtually. Perhaps a church out there might offer something similar that you would find an extra source of 🕊️Thinking of you and sending love.

That is a good idea, Mona! My sister and SIL swim and they love it.

It’s good that your diastolic was fine, Snowysmom. I’m sure it will be better when you’re more relaxed. My doctor always rechecks it again at the end of the visit. The only thing about the gym this time of year is the germs. After being this sick for so long now, I’m weary of getting sick again. Even rethinking our winter baseball trip since I feel that airplanes are where a lot of people are catching germs. What about just a treadmill and some weights at home? Not to give you anything more to worry about. 😅

I woke up today to my friend who has a home business texting me she found out that a customer who was in her house last weekend tested positive a few days later. She is elderly and is very careful, gets all her shots, doesn’t go out a lot, etc. So I had to talk her down for a while, but I hope she doesn’t get sick. I doubt it, the interaction was minimal.

Taz, sending prayers for Anthony. DS wanted to play football in HS but he was so deep into baseball, and I knew so many other players who’d been hurt playing other sports, that we were like, no, lol. Dustin Pedroia in his book has a good passage about it happening to him. We’ve been down the torn meniscus route, too, after a slide into third base on a bumpy infield; cleat caught a bump, and knee bent. Radiologist diagnosed it on MRI, but when DS got into surgery, the surgeon found it wasn’t actually torn, so closed up his knee and sent DS to PT. Always something.

DS just landed from his first night flight. Whew, I was nervous! I’m sure it looked nice up there. I’ll see if he got any pics, but I doubt it. Mr. Seriousness.

Easy, it sounds like a great set up for your husband. I hope he does what he’s supposed to do! Lol :crutches:

Haven’t been as productive as I would’ve liked. Winded with movement and tachycardic. This always happens to me when I get sick. So taking it slow. Hopefully I can get some stuff done this weekend. DH has to go into work for a few hours tomorrow. 😬 There were a lot of things he wanted to do around the house before it rains on Sunday.

Enjoy the rest of the evening! And wishing everyone a nice weekend. 🐥

Almost forgot, I added garlic and onion flakes to the Greek Lemon Chicken recipe above, which I’d forgotten to list.
Everyone here really liked it. 👍 (Always trying to find things everyone likes.)
ETA I think next time we might use just two lemons, too - juice and zest. That was plenty.

Hello everyone….. today I did my first grocery shopping for the holiday, now I’ll just have to get perishables next week. I’ll have house guests for 4 days so I’m trying to not have to have one huge shopping trip. I also bought a few more gifts for the grands ( I need to stop!) 😂

Also I forgot to mention, I had my last OT appointment today, hopefully I can keep up with the progress I’ve made.

Today would have been our 39 wedding anniversary, needless to say I had a few breakdowns😢
Happy Anniversary, dazed. ❤️ It’s nice to see you posting. Sounds like you’ll be busy for the holidays and surrounded by loved ones. That’s great. I know it will still be bittersweet.

Here's my $.75 cents worth (remember about inflation)

I get they are well-meaning but do what is best for you. You can say thank you for thinking about me but right now is just not the best time for me and don't feel guilty about it.
