Good afternoon.

Started the day with a WW meeting. Then a Zoom Bible study and I just finished watching the memorial service for my cousin's husband in TN.

Better change that to good evening. Went out for gas and to the Dollar Tree for a few things. Then made chicken stir fry and rice for dinner and it was good.

@lynxstch , so glad Summer's surgery is over.

@frog3101 , more good thoughts for you.

My doctor's appt went well. I really like this doctor which is something I never say about a doctor.

Very happy to hear this.

Need to update checkbook and pay some bills.

Things with FH are still a mess. I'll just leave it at that.

If you have extra thoughts or prayers, a friend of a good friend of mine is entering her final weeks, maybe days as you never know, of her battle with cancer. She is sleeping more and more and they know her time here with them is limited. It seems that many are called home during this season.
Take care everyone.

This stuff (in Extra Strength if available) was a lifeline for me in October. It’s gross, but helps a lot with the head congestion.

I'll have to look into that Simply Saline. My sinus pressure has weakened today but I'm sure that I could still use something like that. Heading to Walgreens tomorrow to pick up a prescription so I'll try to remember to look for it.

Facetimed with DS this afternoon. He had his wife shave off all of his hair yesterday. He was beginning to loose it. DD couldn't handle seeing him bald, it made his cancer real. Went to the back of the house to cry. His hemoglobin was up today, higher than it's been in six weeks. He was supposed to have a lumbar puncture today to send chemo up his spine but his platelets were not high enough. He had another transfusion of platelets and they will try again tomorrow.

Half the lights on the little Christmas tree I bought only lasted a couple of days. Ordered a replacement. Hopefully it will do better. Since Christmas is so unsettling this year I think that I'm going to tell everyone not to bother with presents except for the kids. We'll just pick up something to put in each others stockings and then I plan to make it a tradition. None of us really need anything. I think that we'd all just rather take a trip together so that may become a new tradition too.

@Pea-n-Me That soup looks good! The Mucinex stuff is good, but when I have serious sinus issues, I'll hit the pharmacy counter and get a package of the good stuff...the old formula Sudafed! You have to buy it at the counter now, because of people needing it to make meth, but it is still the best thing to wipe out a sinus problem!

I'm sure I missed some things I wanted to say, but hey, I have old age as an excuse!


Not much new here. I am sadly out of half and half, and have not made it to the store yet to get any. DH got milk in his coffee this morning, and I am using the single use creamers I bought for hurricane supplies. They need to be used up by February, so it's fine. They are cloying sweet now, after not using that kind of thing for several months. I have found I do prefer the half and half with some flavored syrup (as the syrups I buy are cane sugar, not corn syrup).


I ordered DGS#4's gifts from Kohls, and they were delivered and put up for when we get there. I'm still looking for a few more small things for him, but I can take them with me. I also ordered one thing for DGS#2 from Target, to be delivered to his house as it's big; and will get his other presents when DH gets his bonus on the 15th. I'll get DGS#3/both SoILs/DD#1's gifts then too. I plan on taking all of that with us when we fly out. DGS#1 gets a gift card or cash, and DS wants cash as well. DH and I arent' exchanging gifts again; we are going to spend some money on the trip, and are making that our present.

We also ordered gifts for DH's work donation. This year, their charity is the youth crisis center. We ordered 2 sets of good headphones (DH has a pair, and loves them), and 3 games (Connect Four Shots, the new Connect Four that has spinning pieces, and Zombie Kittens). We went for the older kids, as they get left out...people tend to get toys and games for the younger crowd more.

Working on cleaning out the freezers, so that if anything happens while we're gone, DS won't have to deal with a big mess. I did a quick lookthrough yesterday, and discovered I have a pork tenderloin, 1 meal pork chops, 6 packages of ground pork, one package of hamburgers, 2 meals of frozen turkey, 1 lunch for two of posole, and so many bags of frozen veggies that DH doesn't like. I'll be eating those for lunches for a couple of weeks, lol; well...it's one way to get my vegetables in.

I'm off to...play video games, lol. Have a good day, all!

It's Friday!!!!

Happy today because this is my weekend off ! I'm going to go shopping for a couple of Xmas presents tomorrow and Sunday I'm meeting up with a couple of friends for breakfast. Of course I'll be sitting with Mia during the weekend.

I'll be home tomorrow morning to watch the USA men's soccer game and on Sunday the Bengals play later in the day so I'll be home for that .

I picked up 5 books for Mia from the auction site yesterday. Most of them were the sight and sound books. I might give her a few for Xmas and save a couple for Easter. I have another pick-up this afternoon that I need to do.

My boss left for a long weekend at Disney last night, not going to lie, I'm very jealous.

Off to make myself some breakfast, have a great day!

Ran errands yesterday afternoon, and then had a really fun time last night with some of the other wives from DH's Lodge. - We decorated a tree for a charity raffle and then went out for a nice dinner.





This morning I watched the Dolly Parton special that I DVR'd last night, and today I just have a couple of phone calls to make and miscellaneous stuff to do around the house.

Summer and our grandson made it home by 8 last night. She was in a lot of pain, but doing okay. One medical issue solved for her, now to get all of the others resolved

I was going to make turkey soup tonight, but since Don doesn't like turkey that much, he is making a pot of vegetable soup instead for himself, and I just put together a small turkey pot pie for myself. That finishes up the bird for this year.

Watched Survivor and Amazing Race last night. Very happy with who went home on Survivor, and my 3 favorite teams are the final 3. Hard to believe the season is done next week. They went to some amazing places this time.

I am going to clean out all the kitchen cabinets today,,I can't sit and watch tv all day like Don can. I get bored. Going to take everything out of them, wipe them down, put down new liner, and then wipe down the outsides with Murphy's Oil soap.

Thank you all again for your extra prayers for my dad and me. Dad quick update is that thank God he did stay home Wednesday and yesterday. He insisted on doing our usual Friday morning laundry followed by Ralph's today. He's at the laundromat right now. the holds off until he gets home from Ralph's afterwards. He wasn't as congested this morning as he has been though he also doesn't have too strong a voice He's also coughing still a bit and seems a dash tired which is understandable. I'm doing good other than a slight runny nose that's nothing concerning at the moment. Put my new jersey sheets on my bed earlier to keep warmer tonight. Going to finish up some Christmas mail later today.

Target reminder that tomorrow and Sunday Target Store gift cards will be 10% off when you add the Target Circle offer to your account. Dad and I will be buying at least one gift card. IIRC when Target has had this deal in the past, the discounted gift card is not immediately available for use. Dad and I will be buying at least one card tomorrow so I will have more information then. that this helps save each of you money!

Doing a whole lot of nothing today, being lazy. I just reorganized the chest freezer in the basement, and found out that the gasket is all cracked. The inside lid is starting to show the insulation under it, and it's old anyhow. Well geez..it was Don's parents for at least 10 years before we got it, and we've had it for 22 years,,lol. You can't get a new gasket for it, already tried..so found a good deal on a little bigger one on Lowes, with free delivery. It will be here next Saturday. Merry Christmas to me, lol

Started the morning with yoga, then a quick breakfast at CFA. Then drove to Cecilton about 30 minutes south, for a haircut and foils. I haven't colored in years.

Not much planned for the rest of the day.

I'm off on errands & a Dr. appt. this afternoon.

Hope your travels don't bring you too far north. Traffic is a mess in all of Newark and Elkton with I95 closed in both directions,
