Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

We have lots of those in Florida, haha. GS is supposed to replace the tv on Tuesday (first opening they had); apparently this happens often. Not a great picture, (and this is a 65", I swear. I took it from a bad angle, in the dark living room), but you can see the bleeding on the top.

@bobbiwoz Those squirrels will do anything to get a nut, eh? DD#1 has black squirrels where she lives, and they like to store nuts and acorns in the boys outdoor toys!

@tazdev3225 Hoping for quick healing!

Was able to watch the Broncos-Jags game this morning, before we had to leave. I am shocked we won, but not really, haha...I mean, it was the Jags. Crushed DGS#2, who is a Jags fan (mainly because he loves jaguars). A quick stop at McDs for lunch, because we went to....

The Beyond Van Gogh exhibit! It was pretty neat; not for littles, though, as it isn't interactive, just moving pictures. I did not know he painted a lot of what he did, and I really didn't know too much of his story, so that part was interesting! I did get a little motion sick a couple of times with the moving shows (twice bad enough that I grabbed onto DH and turned my head into his shoulder so I couldn't see anymore). I got a little frustrated with the people that kept walking into me and in front of me, too busy taking photos and videos to be paying attention, and there were a couple I really wanted to shout "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY" to, but I didn't. >:( We didn't buy a lot of souvenirs...they were VERY expensive ($20 for an 'ear'raser; yes, an eraser shaped like an ear). I did get a small keychain and an ornament.

Stopped at the store on the way home for half n half and some fresh veggies, and picked up a scratcher and powerball tickets. I spent $5 on the scratcher and I won $10, so I'm only $10 in the hole on tickets, haha! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 Come on, powerball, make me a billionaire!

DS will be home tomorrow sometime; and apparently is moving back in with us, not with his friend. So tomorrow morning, I need to empty all the boxes out of his bedroom (which I was using for storage, lol). I also have two loads of laundry to do; 4 loads to put away (folded them, and hung the ones that needed hanging, just didn't put the drawer stuff away yet).

I'm off to watch some tv and then early to bed.
I can now admit that I went by the corner store to buy a billion dollar powerball ticket. I also bought 1 of the $10 tickets and won $50. I'm ahead $32 since I bought 2 days of powerball fully loaded.

I hope your daughter had a positive conversation with her attorney.
It turned out to be a follow up call to ask how she was doing, was her ex causing any issues, etc. He told her about the paperwork deadline that her ex had and a few other things.
I did go out to eat tonight with a friend of mine and her boyfriend, so that is a big step for me.
I'm glad that you are moving forward. It definitely is a big step!

We got a few of the Halloween decorations up. Not doing alot this year. Didn't want to go too scary for the littles. We have a red light on the ground there, that will shine onto the black web and the big spider.

That is a great, scary display to have on the front of your house! A couple of years ago our neighbor (they have a two story) put a very large spider, talking Volkswagon Bug size, on the top of their house looking down on the sidewalk. :scared1:

I am worn out. The ER doctor just cleaned the incision and glued it. My daughter is worried that they didn't look to see why it was bleeding since he is on blood thinners. Thankfully my DIL is also a nurse so she will change his dressings tomorrow and make sure it looks OK. I need to check it through the night and make sure it doesn't start bleeding again. The incision is in his chest muscle close to the heart so we are all concerned about an infection reaching the heart. I will call his cardiologist on Monday morning.
That is so scary! Hope everything is okay now.

DS came over yesterday to pick up his dog, Mack. It was so good to see him. He got lots of hugs! To see him, he does not look like he is ill. It's like it's all a bad dream. But it's not. Two more days till we hopefully get some word on what is definitely wrong and what the game plan is.

:grouphug:and extra❤️Kirby! Much prayer always, my friend.

Big extra:hug: to you as well, B&B, with continuing prayers for you always and strengthening your relationship with your son. Thank God he is coming safely home!

Get some good rest tonight, Judique! How are your granddaughters doing? :)

I enjoyed watching some of worship today. Carol, I liked how two church members gave additional live readings of today's scripture, Luke 19:1-10, and how the minister then built more upon that in his sermon. I look forward to watching more of today's service tomorrow.

Maple Moose, I like the palm tree in your avatar. PM me if you would like a palm tree postcard from CA. I realized I have one earlier.

I spent time finishing my ballot this afternoon. So glad that is done, yikes, were there so many things to vote for! I will be most glad when this election is over. Not a fan at all ever of the political negativity and plain unkindness that often accompanies such times. Not right. I pray to have voted in a genuine and true way according to God, grateful for the privilege to vote, and lol, happy it is done with for this election.

Sweet Dreams with love to all!

Happy Monday! 👻

I'm so tired, hopefully I can get through this post 😴.

Worked night shift this weekend and today was my holiday to work dayshift so I had to take PTO at one job in order to fulfill the holiday requirements at this job. I work from home on Monday's because that's usually when the tiredness hits.

Stopped down at Evan's house yesterday, he's hoping to finally move in this coming weekend.🤞

That's all I have, have a great day. 🎃

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Good morning everyone. Raining lightly now, temp will only be in the upper 50's. Good thing almost every place in town had their trunk or treats last night, as tonight won't be much fun if the weather stays this way.

I puttered around yesterday while Don was watching football. Did catch the end of the Patriots game, so that made me happy.

Tech is coming this afternoon to see if they can figure out the phone problem. All I can say, is if they can't, I had still better have at least the one phone line still working in here. But I don't want to have to keep the old phone connected, just to keep the new one working.

@Bianca and Bernard That is creepy about your tv. I can see the 'bleeding' in your picture, definitely not something you should be seeing (unless it's a Halloween effect!)

Have a nice day all

Happy Halloween! 🎃

@Bianca and Bernard Had to laugh at the ear-aser. I'm quite fond of palm trees as it usually means I'm vacationing somewhere great!
I agree with @lynxstch -- Now that I see the bleeding TV it looks like a Halloween effect! Good luck with the technician, hope it's a quick fix.

Best of luck with the lottery @Judique and @Bianca and Bernard and anyone else who is playing!

@Kirby Sending good thoughts for your son. I imagine this is a stressful time for him but also for you. Keeping you all in my thoughts.

@flyingdumbo127 Thank you for your kind offer! 🤗 I'll be sending you a message soon.

@footballmouse Wishing you a restful day working from home. Hope you can get a well-deserved break today.

@lynxstch I was happy to see a win for the Pats! Happy Halloween to you as well!

@PollyannaMom Happy Halloween! Your picture reminds me of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown." We watched it last night for the first time in several years.

Good Morning Friends,

I don't celebrate traditional Halloween at all. Prayers for safe fun for those of you especially with kiddos who do participate in some way. I did for a few years have fun doing Trunk or Treat at church. Would love in the future to be part of that again in a more faith-based way. Enjoy an extra treat of some type today. I had some morning hot chocolate which as always was so warm and tasty. I do try to limit it to 2-3 small mugs a week because even though we make it with milk, I know it's not the healthiest thing for me. Sure is enjoyable though especially on cooler mornings.

Dad is off on a bunch of morning errands including Target and some grocery shopping. I enjoyed so much last night a long phone conversation catching up with a good friend. Grateful for that indeed. Expecting a book package from paperback swap today. We shall see what other mail may come. Here's hoping each of you find a happy surprise this Monday inside your own 📬

:grouphug:Footballmouse along with many prayers that you get to enjoy a whole lot of rest today! Prayers ahead for Evan with his move. Thank you, always, for all the loving care you provide to so many. Remember please, to take care of yourself, as well!

Go Patriots 🏈dear Lynn. I just Googled and saw they won yesterday. Glad you got to watch their game.

Cute Peanuts picture, PollyannaMom! Like Maple Moose, it also reminded me of The great Pumpkin. I haven’t seen that movie in years! I was thinking yesterday that I would like to see A Charlie Brown Christmas🎄this year. I love Linus in that movie. I had Peanuts on my mind.

Thank you for your kind PM back, Maple Moose, I did reply. I hope you and your family had fun watching Great Pumpkin 📺.

:grouphug: and welcome home, Carol! You get some rest and get resettled! I do look forward to hearing more about your trip.

Have a wonderful last day of October everyone. I will check back in later.

Way down the bottom of page 1--not allowed! It's 58 and half sunny now. Tech from Breezeline was here..took him all of 10 minutes to find the problem. The jack that Atlantic Broadband put in when we switched to their phone service years ago..was shorting out. (it was behind the computer desk so the guy had to just about crawl under the desk to get to it,,and he wasn't a small guy!). He says he's surprised that the new phone was even working..it must have been on a spot that wasn't shorting. He put a new jack in, and viola, working phones again. I could have changed the jack myself..but for what we pay them monthly, I let them send someone to do it..lol

Lynn Glad you have your phone fixed now.

The day started out cold but is now warm. Yesterday I saw both kids. I saw Jeff and his kids first. I am at the tail end of a cold and I tend to get coughing fits because everything is drying out. The allergies are not helping. So, I had a major coughing fit, had to drink water, and just decided to leave. I was not happy. I am not contagious and it is not anything more than a cold. But, I felt like they wanted me to leave so I did. Then I went to Kenny's house and chatted with him for a while. We discussed the condo situation and I do have an open invitation to stay with him whenever and for however long I need. It was nice to chat with him for the afternoon. We also took a walk. We also watched part of the Pat's game. He agrees with my friends and therapist that I need to do what is right for me and not think of what others want. It is hard for me to do that but I think I need to this time in order to make some progress. I see the therapist tomorrow so I will discuss things with her too.

Our complex does not do anything for Halloween so it will be a quiet night. At our house we used have so many trick or treaters. Chris loved it and answered the door more than I did. He loved to see the kids in their costumes. I am not a big fan of Halloween but I am a bit sad today because I know how much Chris loved it. Next year if I am in a town house maybe there will be trick or treaters.

Anyone else making plans for Thanksgiving already? Kenny is having dinner at his house. I started a list of things I am going to make as well as a shopping list. I feel like I have to get the nonperishable items early before they sell out. I keep thinking of supply chain issues. Each week I will add a couple of items to the list so it spreads out the cost.

Have a good rest of the day.

Thank you, Lynn, for the thread save. Indeed, the bottom of the page is not allowed! So glad your☎️is working again! May it remain that way and only rings with wanted callers, too.

:grouphug: Snowysmom, I'm truly sorry you felt as though you should leave :( Grateful extra you were able to spend time with Kenny. I "liked" your post for hope to come that I absolutely see shining through within your words. Continuing prayers my friend, always.

Quiet afternoon around here. Dad did do a lot of shopping this morning. He was able to use a $25 Target gift card we had gotten from earned reward points to pay for most of his $30 or so purchase, extra blessing for sure. I was glad he treated himself to some favorite seasonal granola cereal, too. He will be briefly going to the library to do both a return and pickup along with Pavilions. Later we will enjoy watching more 📺

Wishing all of you a wonderful rest of Monday with love.

Happy Halloween all.

DH come home with some flowers for DD and I. Roses and sunflower for me and DD got the marigolds. ❤️

Going to a friend's tonight. She always has an open house on Halloween, her yard is pretty decorated so she gets a lot of trick or treaters, while we get none. LOL I like seeing everyone's costumes so it will be fun over there.
Hope you all have a nice evening.

Beautiful flowers, AuntieMe3! I love that your DH, (so glad you have one another) also got the marigolds for your daughter🌼

I did watch the rest of We Need a little Christmas. Like others in the Hallmark thread have said, ITA, that the neighbor Irene was the kindest and best part of this movie. She was so sweet. I would love to have her for a neighbor and for that matter, a hundred times+ more, any of dear you, for that matter.

Have a good evening, everyone. Stay cozy!

Yeah, if it's something that we already pay for, then someone else can fix it. Lance is bad about that, wanting to repair stuff himself, and I'm all "honey, we pay the landlord/cable company/etc to fix this stuff, so let them do it!"

No plans yet; Lance and I will talk about it this week. We won't do a full turkey....with just the two of us eating it, we'd have leftovers of everything for weeks on end! He usually gets a HoneyBaked Ham gift card for Tday, and I usually use it afterward, to get a ham and turkey, which I cut up and freeze in meal portions. We might get another turducken or just a turkey breast to cook for us, and I can make smaller side dishes.

I don't know if you know about the Microsoft Rewards program, but you can earn gift cards on it. You have to sign up for it, on your phone/computer/tablet/whatever; you earn points by doing 'searches' on Edge or Chrome; and by completing 'activities'. I earn a $10 gc to Amazon or Starbucks in about a month and it takes me about 10 minutes a day to do them (I do them on my phone as well as on my computer, to max out the points; I don't do the 'buy/rent to earn points" things, or the Xbox game things, or else I'd earn at least double that every 30-45 days. There is a subReddit dedicated to the rewards program, where you can get the answers to quizzes, without having to search them yourself, to max out points.

My niece's family finally shared what was going on (well, a friend of the family did, in a Go Fund Me link (here). My niece had a pheochromocytoma. a tumor on her adrenal gland, that caused her heart to race badly and caused severe heart damage. She was in heart failure; and they were scheduling surgery to remove the tumor finally, so she could get on the transplant list; but it didn't happen quick enough. She was severely sick since 2019; she had issues for years before they dx'ed her. (Lance was different, he had an AdrenoCortical Carcinoma.)

We had about 70 ToT'ers last night. Saw a few that skipped us, not sure why; maybe they didn't see the porch light well enough or something. they started about 6pm, when it was still very light out; and the last ones came by about 8:30. DS made it home ok; seems a bit quieter than he used to be, but calmer, if that makes sense.

Making spinach chef salads tonight for dinner. I might make some soberdough quick bread with it; I have two more packs to use up. DH woke me up when he got up to go workout, on accident, so now I'm up, and have been since about 4:30am.

going to go pour myself some coffee and get some work done. Have a good day!

ETA sadly, no powerball winnings. But next drawing is up to at least $1.2B; that's about $600M in the cash option, which is about $250M after taxes. I could live with that. DH is going to stop at the gas station tomorrow morning and pick up another 5 tickets.

Good morning! I can’t believe it’s November! Where did the time go? 🐿 🦃

Had a looong weekend at work! (First shifts back.) Still recovering, and right back in again tomorrow.

Had fun last night dressing the dogs up. Grady was like an old hand at it, and he was great when ToT’s came to the porch, didn’t bark or make a fuss. DS and I stayed with him at a distance just in case, but he just watched the goings-on through the porch rails. Was so proud of him!

Have a busy day today, but going to go back to sleep for a bit, I think, if I can.

Thinking of you all and reading along. 🐥 @Kirby 🙏🏻 for today.

Ours were on the early side too - between 5:30 and 8:00. I expected more kids than last year, but we actually had a few less. Some really cute costumes though, even a few dogs!

Sorry about your niece.

Happy November! 🍁

Worked yesterday day shift so I raced home so that I could be ready for the Bengals game at 8:00 🏈. Grabbed a taco salad from a little taco place on the way home.

Working from home today. I really wish election day was today, I'm so tired of all these political commercials.😖

Our trick or treat time was 6-8 last night. Since I wasn't going to be home, I had to remember to turn my pumpkin light and my porch lights off before I left for work in the morning.

Only plans I've made for Thanksgiving was letting the kids know that I have to work that night. I offered to have them over for a lunch instead of dinner so we'll see what we all decide.🦃

Well I guess I better start working, have a great day!

Didn't win the billion, but have another chance next drawing. I didn't even get one number! Still have to go cash out my $50 scratch off. I'll save it till the 3rd drawing in the event this prize hangs around after next drawing.

I do 1-2 tickets on big drawings and almost always buy 'vacation' tickets while out of town. So I gamble a few dollars 3-4 times a year. My budget for my vacation spend is $20 or less - lottery ticket and maybe 1-2 scratch offs.

On one trip I won $800 on my $20. The next trip my traveling companion won $500. Sometimes I win enough to cover the ticket cost at the moment. Although I haven't kept track I think I'm ahead by a few dollars.

I came home from a trip in 2018 and hadn't spent my $20. Son had decided to go to the casino. I gave him the $20 and went to bed. In the morning I found $1400 on my kitchen table. Later on I shared with him.

Another habit - forgetting I bought a ticket and finding it months later!
