That's me! I find gambling incredibly boring! Unless I'm winning

Has anyone run out to buy a Megamillions ticket? I think I will have to get one tomorrow. After all, eventually someone will win. May as well be me!
We bought 3 for last night's drawing. We got 1 number on 2 different lines.
We'll get some tomorrow too.

I'm just saying, if I win, you may never hear from me again......

@frog3101 I will echo what others have said. Do you have to let your soon to be exH have the kids for whenever he says he wants them? There is no agreement right now so maybe you can just tell him what time he will have and that's that. It sounds like he can be pretty intimidating. And if the GF has covid there is no way the kids should be near her or him since he has been exposed. That is enough right there to say no.

@dazedx3 So happy to her your DH got good news. Cruising is easy and fun. Any idea where you would like to go?

I got my second booster today mainly because older DS was recommending it and we are going to WDW in Oct. Other than that I would have passed. Then I went to the bank to deposit a check. I had to wait a bit because they do not have enough tellers. I really wonder where all the workers have gone since the pandemic. I do know some people retired but alot just opted out of the work force. I don't get it. Just part of this increasingly crazy world we live in.

Have a good evening.

frog, it is so hard to stand up to someone like your husband. DD was doing so well until her ex got in her space in Charleston and now she has taken several steps back. A couple of years ago she really stood up to him in person and he was quite taken aback. He shouldn't be allowed to just get the kids when he wants especially when they could be exposed to illness. I agree with the others about contacting your attorney about this situation. Prayers continuing.........

On a good note, Lil Joe is home. He's playing quietly in his room, just wants to be by himself right now. The ex had to put on a show for a bystander, making comments that it takes attorneys to get DD to do what is right and putting DD down. She just took it and left without comment. That is really what gets his goat, not speaking to him.

Snowy, I got my second booster today also, thought it couldn't hurt, maybe it will keep me from getting too sick if I should get Covid again.

Carol, what a lovely view and a nice looking group of people. I miss getting together with my ladies group that's my age. There's been a lot of traveling this summer so we haven't gotten together since May.

We're expecting temps back up to 104 next week. I always put together a tentative weekly menu before I go to the grocery store. Nothing is going in the oven until we get back into the lower to middle 90's. I keep all my curtains closed except for the office. It looks out onto my bird feeder and birdbath. I'm in there the majority of the day and need something more to look at than four walls.

Lou Lou just loves VBS! Too bad tonight was the last night. She got her backpack all set to go even though she didn't need it. Since VBS is at the same place as her preschool, the two just sort of run together in her mind.

Dinner tonight was Sonic which DD picked up on the way home from picking up Lil Joe at the airport. I tried their new BLT on the menu. It was okay, I might get it again. It took the place of the chicken wrap that I really liked.

Great pictures, Carol, thank you for sharing with us! I am so glad the meeting went so well. Everyone looks very happy.

Snowysmom, prayers you feel no ill-effects from your booster!

Hug, Kirby and one for Lil Joe, too. Thank God he is home! I can understand his wanting to be alone and settle in. Transitions of any kind, even back into a loving and safe home, can be exhausting for a child--it was for young me at times. So happy for all of you! Have an extra good Thursday!

Sweet dreams to all!

Yep, bought two when I was out today. I've been playing since last week when DS and I heard on the radio how high it was, but I haven't even won the $2.00 prize yet. We'll see on Friday.

I had to wait a bit because they do not have enough tellers. I really wonder where all the workers have gone since the pandemic. I do know some people retired but a lot just opted out of the work force.
I think some retired a bit early as you said, some sadly passed away from covid, and some two-income families were forced to cut back to one (either because of layoffs or remote schooling) and found out that they didn't really need two incomes after all. - They didn't realize quite how much of the money from the second job was going to things that were only necessary because of the second job - child care, hiring housecleaners and lawn services, eating out a lot because everyone was exhausted, no time to look for bargains when spending, etc. On top of that, they had simplified their lives: learned to enjoy spending time together at home, saved the money they would have spent on big vacations when travel was restricted...that sort of thing.

Good evening.

I had to post the pictures from my phone but so much easier to type on the laptop.

Today we watched the kids again. I volunteered. The county fair is this week and we wanted to take them to see the animals and tractors. And it gave DSIL time to work on the houses.

First we had breakfast at our house. I made pancakes. Then we headed to the fair. The rides and food aren't open in the morning when we went. Tessa really liked the animals, cows and steer, sheep, and pigs. Carter was not having any of it and wanted to be carried. I should have brought a stroller as he is too big to be carried. Tessa and DH went into the last barn themselves and Carter and I sat on a bench in the shade. Then we went to see the farm equipment where a supplier had them for sale. They were huge. Again, Carter not interested even though he loves tractors. I am really concerned about how he is going to react in WDW.

Came home and played a bit before I made lunch. Carter, who usually naps really well, only slept maybe 30 minutes. Just played here before I took them back to DD's work for her to take them home.

DH and I had turkey burger, rice, and tomatoes for dinner. Basically eating them for every meal we can. Then mowed the lawn. Now just vegging with TV before going to bed.

The other thing that was going on was DH's search for his wallet. We we were getting ready to go out this morning, he couldn't find it. We went to the fair and came home and he started searching. He checked everywhere in the house and I double checked would I could with the kids there. Looked through drawers, pockets of clothes, his car, bike bag, etc. He even went back to where he took a bike ride yesterday and walked part of it. Then he started the process of getting a new license, blocking and replacing credit cards. What a pain.

I'm tossing around the idea to apply for the executive position and just see what happens. I have to weigh the pros and cons.
Good luck. DD is also considering a supervisor position in her agency and has a lot to consider.
woke up this AM to over 80 email notifications from the disboards,
I only get notifications for messages and did get a lot yesterday.
We call this time of year 'BLT season' in our household, we are full up on tomatoes so we end up eating them a lot! Probably to much...but is there anything better than crispy bacon & fresh tomatoes?
DH has been eating BLT's daily. I am just ok with bacon but like tomato sandwiches - white bread, mayo, tomatoes, and salt. Sometimes ah cheese.
former husband has pretty
@frog3101  I agree with @footballmouse and @lynxstch, why can't you say no.
DH had to go in today to Mayo
I read this and thought he was going to the store for mayonnaise. Guess too much talk of BLT.
I'm down to needing some binoculars,
I bought these in April and am very happy with them. link

@lynxstch , I ordered two water bottles, exact same thing at the same time and they came in separate packages.

We have spotted lanternflies here, nymph stage now. It's a shame they are so bad because they are so pretty and colorful.

We are not seasoned travelers
I have not done river cruises but can speak to other cruise if you have questions.

@Kirby , glad Lil Joe is home.

@footballmouse and @Kirby , drink lots of gatorade. Glad you got the shot. I had my second several months ago and will take anymore they offer.

Time to go to bed.

Hello and welcome to early Thursday AM. I can't wait for the day that sleep comes easy again.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and wisdom.
For those who asked, no at this point there is no custody order in place (hoping by the end of the week...but also nervous just because it could be not great) so I could tell him no. He's very intimidating and kind of a bully when he doesn't get what he wants. I also have to make sure they see him enough that he can't say I'm keeping them from him. Such mess, a mess that never gets truly cleaned up. So, I am in in a rock and a hard place so to speak. Everything that I want to do and that seems logical can always come back to bite me in the rear. I am praying with ruling comes out tomorrow and of course that it is in my favor. Please keep the prayers coming.
I am taking my youngest two tomorrow so they can see their cousins who are visiting from out of state. My oldest daughter has commitments for tomorrow and my oldest son is thankfully out of town until Sunday. My oldest daughter is adamant she is never spending the night there again. And, as odd as it may sound, I'd be fine with them being there a lot more, as long as they are able to sleep here with me. But, it's not up to me and I just have to keep praying.
I have plenty I can do tomorrow, but it seems when the kids are with him, I kind of freeze and can't pull myself out of it.

@Kirby I'm sorry your daughter has a hard time standing up to her former husband. I know how she feels. I have tried to stand up to him a few times and so far I'm batting zero. I'm glad Lil Joe made it home and is now safe. Does he fly by himself as an unaccompanied minor or does he get an escort, so to speak.

I don't really now much else. I hope to be able to post soon that I got good news from the ruling.
Take Care,
Frog

Sorry about the lost wallet, Carol. DS has been through that panic before too.

And I get it, frog, about, about not wanting him to accuse you of withholding the kids completely.

Fingers crossed it's settled soon, and that they can visit without sleeping over. - I really can't believe the judge doesn't want to talk to the kids directly. I know I would.

Good Thursday morning. :flower1:

Went to the dermatologist yesterday after work for my yearly skin check. Everything looked good. :thumbsup2

Ds2 stopped by the house yesterday when he got off of work. Haven't seen him in a while.

Ds1 & DIL closed on their house yesterday so they are official home owners. He said that he'll be at the house on Sunday if I wanted to stop by and go through it (which I will).

Nothing going on today after work. I'm going to make fettuccine alfredo tonight for dinner and take some up to my aunt. Since I haven't been cooking, I haven't been up to visit her, kinda feel bad, I know she likes when people stop by.

Supposed to rain tonight so I'll probably cut the grass on Saturday. It's only supposed to be in the mid to high 80's this week with low humidity so cutting the grass won't be too bad. Still going to work a 1/2 day tomorrow but I doubt I'll spend it by the pool. :sunny:

Have a great day!🌻

Morning all
Feeling a bit crampy today. TMI
After a year of being totally absent, mother nature decided to rear her ugly head...this better end before I go to Belize, darn it.
>:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I need go out and mow, ugh. Other than that, nothing going on today. Making a pork and cabbage stir fry for dinner, I think.

Good morning--mid 80's, chance of storms later, same old same old weather prediction. May try and get the lawn mowed and weedwacked in just a bit.

@frog3101 --continued good thoughts and prayers

@Breezy_Carol --sorry Carter didn't enjoy the fair. I hope that being around disney characters in WDW will peak his interest. I had never heard of spotted lanternflies before. I don't think I had ever even heard of them before I read something on one of the posts on here about them. I had to google them to see what they were. They are pretty (for bugs I mean) though. I agree with you about tomato sandwiches. Has to be white bread, has to be mayo and not miracle whip. Touch of sea salt. Bacon is good once in a great while on it, but never cheese for me. I read bianca and bernards thing about mayo the same way you did, at first..thought she meant mayonnaise, till I thought about it a little more, lol. I hope that your husbands wallet reappears. Mr L lost his twice. Once in WDW at Animal Kingdom. He had it in a fanny pack if I recall, and he took something out of it, and the wallet must have slipped to the ground. I was panicked, but by the time we got up front to guest relations, an honest person had picked it up and turned it in, intact. The second time was at home. He had it the night before. In the morning we just couldn't find it. We looked everywhere he had been. I was ready to do as yours did, cancel cards, ask for new ones, get new license etc. 2 days later, I was cleaning in the bedroom, and went to vacuum under the bureaus, and there was his wallet. I guess when he took his pants off to get undressed (he always sat on the bed to do it), the wallet somehow slipped out and landed under the bureau,,the one place I never thought to look

@Bianca and Bernard Sorry about Mother Nature playing games with you. But after a year without 'you know what', maybe it's the stress, excitement, etc about planning the trip? Perhaps you should call your gynecologist and ask them about it. Certainly not something you want to deal with on a vacation like you are planning!

Just checked the garden, picked 2 of those little cherry tomato size boxes full of them. Brought one to my neighbor next door. Told her it was exchange for the green beans they brought me yesterday. Finally picked 3 good size 'Lemon Boy' tomatoes this morning and noticed that 2 of the beefsteaks are turning red. That means in about 2 weeks, we will have more tomatoe's than we can handle, and that's never a bad thing

Just saw a FB message from SIL she sent last nite. The one who's husband passed a month ago. They had to got to Morgantown yesterday for Drs appts..and were leaving to come home. She was pulling into the middle lane of the highway, checked to see if anyone was coming. She must have had a blind spot, as a brand new car, coming out of the dealership with their car ran into them. It dented their back bumper. Noone hurt. New car had the left front set of lights broken out. I can't imagine how upset I would be. You pick up your new car and get into an accident almost as soon as you drive off the lot. They called the police, and notified their insurance company's. It's just always something :(

Have a nice morning

The other thing that was going on was DH's search for his wallet. We we were getting ready to go out this morning, he couldn't find it.

Sorry about this annoyance. Nothing like trying to find something. Anyway, check the car again, especially if you were driving a vehicle that has a center console between the two front seats. Sometimes it's almost impossible to see or feel things that disappear into this particular abyss.

We had given up on a set of keys and my neighbor came out and said let me check your car for you. DD and I had checked and moved the seat up and down and looked as best we could. Long story short, he found the keys.

Now all that said, I'm still looking for $400 in cash in my house. I 'saved' it somewhere to pay my electrician friend for when he came to do a couple more odd jobs. Don't usually have cash in the house over $20.

Nowhere to be seen. Absolutely not stolen. Just put away and my old age mind has temporarily (I hope) lost the info. Like yesterday, I 'scheduled' in my mind to do something at 5pm.

5pm came and I knew I had something to do but couldn't remember what. It took until 7pm for the jolt to come when my daughter asked if there were any tomatoes. I was supposed to be going to my cherry tomato plants to pick the red ones before it rained.

@lynxstch I probably picked about the same amount of cherry tomatoes as you. I only have 2 plants. One I paid too much for at Costco, and one that sprung up from last year's plants. That one is really huge! I had to put two cages on it and it's still going everywhere and is outside my garden area by a few feet, but when I spotted it I just let it grow there.

The Costco one is supposed to be organic, but it's nowhere near as prolific as the other 'wild' one.

Happy Thursday Friends,

I agree with both of your posts, Pollyanna:hug:, extra about the judge! simply pray all judges that are involved with children truly take the care and time to listen to children and be respectful of them! Of course, I would much prefer a judge not be needed to begin with. Terrible thing for a child and family to need to go through. Extra hugs to Kirby and Frog.

Feel better, B&B:hug:

Much continued prayer, Frog and Kirby, too! :grouphug:

:hug:Carol, I'm sorry about Carter and the fair. As Lynn said, hopefully WDW will be of more interest to him. What a pain indeed about the lost wallet, I'm sorry. Years ago, my grandma suggested (post plague when I get out again, I'll definitely do this, have started a bit already) keep a current list at home of exactly what is in my wallet or purse. Cards numbers and phone numbers especially.

Oh no, Lynn! I am so sorry to hear that about your SIL. I am truly grateful she is okay! Wishing you and Mr. L a cool and R&R filled type Thursday, my friend🌼

:tiptoe:Congratulations to your son and DSIL, Footballmouse on their new 🏠Wishing them all happiness in their new life there!

 Judique, I truly pray you find the missing money!

Quiet morning around here. I was just looking up prices on 8-gallon unscented trash bags. Exciting huh? I did talk with my friend Ruth last night. Guess who was all set to bake new cakes yesterday and bring them to Sue today when Sue called? Yep. I am so thankful to God, Ruth had not yet started the actual baking, just had lined up all her ingredients. Sue is going to lunch today with another friend so would not have been home when Ruth would have come by. So, in a couple of weeks when Ruth has the time, she will call Sue, make sure she will be home when Ruth wants to come and then she will bake the cakes then. That was, Sue's 99th is extended plus the cakes are more of a fun surprise because Sue won't be expecting them. It sounded like Sue had a wonderful birthday on Tuesday. I wrote thank you notes yesterday to Matt, Janna, and Cindy at 99 and will be getting them in the mail. I haven't heard anything yet from Matt, btw since Monday. I will keep all of you posted on any public video!

Hugs to all and I'll check back later.

I do that with stuff sometimes - put it in the "logical" place, but then find that's not the place I would actually look for it.

keep a current list at home of exactly what is in my wallet or purse. Cards numbers and phone numbers especially.
excellent advice!

My contents of my bags change daily (or whenever I leave the house) and I have a lot of credit cards since I collect rewards points. I like to travel light and sometimes will just slip a card in my pocket with ID. I always keep a master list (spreadsheet) of what I have and what my rewards balances are. Charges I pay off weekly. And all my accounts are online and I also use some apps. I could probably go with online only, but there's that memory thing. I did have a card or two on my phone apps to pay with, but I really don't like that and took them off.

When I can't find a card, I'll go online and request a new one, after checking for 'new' charges. In most cases it's fallen between the seats in my car or into the sides of a chair when I'm buying something online, and even inside my bed frame when I'm doing stuff while 'not sleeping' at night.
