I hope everyone who is not feeling well gets better soon. Summer colds are a nuisance. I keep forgetting to take my Claritin as I put it in a cabinet and it is not right out where I can see it each morning. I should tape it to my coffee maker. I feel awful from the allergies.

Lynn I remember when Mr L was so ill last year. PT sounds like a good plan. I second your comment about Men! I don't understand why they don't take health issues as seriously as they should. I am not saying every man is like this but I was married to one and I know many other women who will say the same thing.

@flyingdumbo127 Glad to hear your Dad is doing well with the booster.

I have the TV on Hallmark movies all the time now. It is just to have some noise and voices in the lonely condo. It is so quiet on this floor. I am not sure anyone ever leaves their condos. I go out several times a day and literally see no one on my floor. I think most of the people are in their 70s and maybe early 80s. Most of them bought the condos new 7 years ago. I usually walk down the stairs to go out of the building and I surprised the cleaner who was taking a break sitting on the stairs. She probably doesn't see many people taking the stairs. I felt bad but I apologized for startling her.

My older DS just called. He is coming up to go to dinner with me. Bless his heart. DDIL and the kids went to the Cape where her family has a house. Kenny is not a fan of the Cape. I told him traffic may be terrible but he does not care. I was moping around about being alone all day tomorrow so this cheers me up a bit. I have a therapist appt next Thursday afternoon in DS's area. I am thinking of spending the night at his house, going to Wegman's in his area as I cannot go the one Chris and I used to go to in my area, and back to the condo. It will be a mini vacay for me. I took next Friday off. Older DS and family are coming to the condo on Sunday morning. The kids want to see the condo and the playground. Monday I am with younger DS and the grandkids for the afternoon and evening.

I almost lost my ring that Chris bought me last year for mother's day. I know I need to have it sized down and this is a wake up call. I am going to the jewelry store tomorrow. I may have my engagement ring sized down too but after I get this ring done. I don't want to be without 2 rings at the same time. I am not sure what to do with my wedding ring yet but will work it out when it feels right. I have Chris' wedding band in my ring box and I put it on every morning while I tell him about the day.

Canadian Geese are a constant presence around here in the spring and summer. I used to walk at lunch where I work and they would be out eating the grass. I would have to be very careful walking around near them as they would charge a bit and hiss at me.

Have a good rest of the day.

I was careful to stay well back because I'd heard they do that sometimes!

Waving good afternoon,

Has anyone else (I hope not) been having trouble with the Dis loading today? i hope not, of course!

Dad is resting right now. His arm is sore, otherwise he seems okay, thank you all for your prayers.

Hug, Snowysmom extra. God Bless Kenny! Have a wonderful dinner. I think a mini vacation, change of scene sounds like a good idea.

I just wish Hallmark would show better Christmas movies! Did any of you see A Christmas Treasure last year? Wondering if it is any good.

I have tested twice, both times negative. But my throat is killing me and I've got 'the headache'. Summer cold I guess, I'm feeling like hell warmed over for sure. Hit the nightquill last night, and theraflu today, hoping to get ahead of it.

I think we may close up shop a bit early here today, let everyone get a head start on their holiday weekend. For me that will look like either going to the grocery store or going home to mow!

na...staying up for fireworks and /or dealing with crowds & driving somewhere at 9 or 10 at night is my idea of torture :jumping1: . We can sometimes see the fireworks from Baltimore or Rock Hall, MD from our front porch, and god knows the rednecks around us will be shooting them off all weekend. I'm not anti-fireworks by any means, I'm just anti- making a effort to go anywhere to see them.

Thanks - I'm glad, too...you enjoy your weekend, too!

Me, either! I admit the first think I did was look up the menu too! Next Sunday I have to go to the Costco right up from that location before heading up to PHL to pick my mother up, I may try it out!

Have a good, safe weekend everyone! Enjoy your BBQ's, picnics, get-to-gethers and whatever else you decide to get into. No grand plans for us, may take a boat ride. Might take in a movie. Will defiantly take it easy!

Happy 4th of Julyparty:

I can go you one better. Our Walmart has ALL summer stuff on clearance, and there are 2 rows where they are already putting out Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. Haven't seen ANY Halloween stuff yet/

Has anyone else (I hope not) been having trouble with the Dis loading today? i hope not, of course!
Several times today, unfortunately. I hadn't been having any trouble at all, then today I kept getting a 404 error. But it always came back in just a few minutes.

Reminder to buy extra postage before the rate increase on July 10th.
I did that just last week because you mentioned it here. Thank you!

It was nice to see everyone posting yesterday! :goodvibes Happy 4th weekend! 🇺🇸 I got to start mine a little early as someone asked me to switch with them which worked out in my favor, so I’m off for the whole thing. The grocery store was a madhouse yesterday, but the silver lining was that I ran into an old friend while shopping and we got to catch up a bit, it was so nice seeing her! Our kids played ball together and we reminisced about how much fun we had during those years, and she was a big dog person, too - that’s really how we first met when the kids were quite young, I went over to pat her dog!

So yesterday I was just about to start to write here myself when I heard, “Mom, come quick! Grady’s going in the pool!” So I quickly threw some swim gear on and ran out just in time to see DS carrying a calm and trusting dog into the water with us for the first time. He went in two or three times and I think, enjoyed it. Swam like a champ but a little clumsy getting out, he is quite a goodball, we’re seeing, since his personality is coming out more! Toto was already on his float and having a good time. So we hung out there for a while, with perfect weather. The guy had just come to spray for mosquitos, and apparently emptied out his container since we were the last stop of the day and week, so no bugs at all (which is great because usually there are a lot).

Afterward we grilled out, and ate dinner outside on the deck, making turkey burgers (since we’d just talked about them, I got the urge to have them), Nathan’s fries and caprese salad with fresh basil from our garden and balsamic glaze (that was my favorite part of the meal, so good)! Then we watched Encanto in the sunroom with all the windows open, I could’ve stayed there all night. Woke up this morning around 0330 to soft thunder and lightening. Lightening scares me since we were hit, but it wasn’t too bad. So I just made a coffee and sat it out. Grady wasn’t sure what to make of it, but sat with us on the bed and was a little nervous, but he watched what Toto did and tried to go back to sleep.

We are probably going to have to break out the Thundershirt for Toto as we did last year, with a little medication. Not sure how Grady will be with the fireworks. We have a lot around us. We decided we’re not going out anywhere this year to watch them with the dog situation, and not in the mood to fight traffic and crowds and all that. DD’s still recovering and we’re all beat. Work has been horrendous.

Speaking of old friends, I forgot to mention, I recently re-connected with a very old and good friend, so that’s been nice, and uplifting. We picked up right where we left off, and it feels like we were never apart. So that’s made me happy.

I’m sorry to hear of illness and sadness, but happy, too, for good news here. Thinking of you all. 🐥 Looking forward to hearing about trips and new adventures. Love the photos and stories shared.

Which reminds me, Lynn, you will appreciate this. DD loves soft pretzels, and there’s certain ones she buys. So she was eating some recently, and discovered mold on them mid-bite. 😳 (Just what she needed!) So she emailed the company, and literally within five minutes got a personalized response (and it was the end of the work day, too). She had to send in the lot# and pictures of the mold, but they explained how it can happen (they say that stores change the sell-by date to make it longer!) and within a couple of days she received a big box of their products in the mail! They also apologized. It was nice to deal with a company so responsive to the customer!

@Snowysmom it sounds like your family is circling their wagons around you. That’s really great.
@FlyingDumbo I hope your Dad stays well and that you can get the phone situation squared away.
@Bianca and Bernard I hope you feel better and wish good luck to your son! Sounds like a great set up for him!
@Breezy_Carol So glad your DD’s getting settled into their new home, and hope your DDIL and DGS are feeling better.
@easyas123 Glad the foster dog is doing ok. He must be more lively now with the weight off! Nice work!
@Judique, @tazdev3225, @bobbiwoz Thanks for sharing your travel adventures, past or upcoming, and photos.
@frog3101 I can sense your angst, please know you and your kids are in my thoughts and prayers. Same for all.
@AuntieMe3 Love the picture of Buddy on the mattress, lol. Nice pics of your Mom and family.
@PollyannaMom You’re doing a great job capturing the hummingbirds! Ours fly away if you move at all, but I’m inside. Hope you’re having a nice time with your family out in NY. Such a pretty area.
@dazedx3, @Kirby Thinking of and praying for your families during these difficult times. Glad you were able to get away, dazed. Hope your daughter gets more time with her kids this summer, Kirby. I can’t imagine.
@footballmouse Glad you’re enjoying your pool and hope you can get some down time.
@Canadisney Fly Glad you’re here, and thanks for your lovely and generous shares.
@lynxstch Hope Mr L is doing well you’ve done a great job caring for him, so devoted. Hope you get some R&R too.
Hope I didn’t forget anyone!

Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone! Going to be a hot one, with chance of storms every day.
@Pea-n-Me Seeing a long post from you this morning made my day start with a smile. Loved the Grady in the pool part! He's made himself a big party of your family already..had to laugh at the thought of Toto on a float in the pool! Yeah to your daughter for reaching out to the pretzel company, and nice to hear that they responded quickly to her..Please enjoy your long weekend off, you deserve it!

Going to plan out the meals for the whole weekend this morning, and do some of it ahead so I don't have to do it each day. Want to make an angel food cake this morning to go with the fresh strawberries I got the other day. Going to shuck the corn so it's ready to go for dinner tomorrow nite. Also want to make some potato salad and coleslaw. We invited my SIL and niece over for Monday, but they are undecided if they want to go anywhere. I think celebrating any holiday without their husband/father is going to be hard for awhile. Not going to the fireworks display locally, we can see most of it from our house anyhow. Will watch the ones on tv, and not get wet, or eaten by mosquito's.

Have a nice Saturday morning!

Good morning.

Baked brownies to frost and glaze tomorrow. On the third load of laundry. Changed the bed. Probably going to Lancaster area today because DH wants to look at furniture. I am going for the ride.

DD texted. The kids are riding bikes in their cul-de-sac. This is one of the big reasons they moved, to get off their busy road. And she met two of her neighbors who she said are nice

@Pea-n-Me , your recap puts my posts to shame.

@PollyannaMom , I think this is a good year for day lilies. Mine are blooming too.

Adding a few some pics

This is a still from a video

DS and I like onion rolls, and there must be picalilly and pepper jack cheese (which I forgot to buy!)

Btw thank you to whoever recommended those Nathan’s fries, they are delicious! (Lynn and someone else, I think.)

Happy Saturday, friends :)

Dad and I just enjoyed some tasty 🥞 We used our last 2 pancake-shaped plates which was fun. Thank you all so much again for your phone support. We will be narrowing down our search this weekend. Although as I keep reminding dad, what really matters is what an store truly has when he goes there not necessarily what we may find online. But, of course, doing an online search first gives us an idea. Hugs and extra appreciation to all of dear you for your dad prayers. He said his arm is feeling better this morning, praise God. We are so grateful.

Pretty flowers, PollyannaMom🌼Hug, I'm so glad you were able to save on stamps. I'm sorry to hear you had trouble also with the site :( So far for me today, it's working fine.

:dogdance:🏊‍♂️Love your doggie pool pictures, Pea! They are having a pool party and it looks fun. Truly glad you get to enjoy this weekend off.

Perfect daily picture for this weekend, Lynn! I love it. Thank you ::MickeyMo

Carol, I hope you and your DH find the furniture 🪑 you want and enjoy those brownies tomorrow, as well.

Happy Saturday! :sunny:

Stuck at work this weekend and we are busy. We all hurried up and put an order in for Chipotle. I can see outside that it's sunny, rain came through this morning, and we definitely needed it.

DH got some good news. His company did a review, and decided they were paying people in his level too little, so he's getting a cost of living raise. It comes out to almost our rent payment every month, before taxes hit, so WOOT! :cool1: Plus, they are handing out $300 a month to each employee to help with the cost of gas/food, until December.
Nice! I wished we could get something to help with the gas increase. I really want to ask my boss if I could work a third day from home to help save on gas but I'm afraid to push it. I know people in other departments are either not working from home at all or only 1 day.

AuntiMe3 - love the picture of Buddy taking over the air mattress. This is something one of my dogs would do. :dog2:

I'm needing a prayer request. My son & DIL put a bid in on a house and it was accepted continent on the inspection this coming week. Please say a prayer that the inspection comes back good and they're able to finally get a house. I really want them to be moved in before they have their baby (January). They just keep getting outbid, I feel bad for them. 🏡

My older DS just called. He is coming up to go to dinner with me.
It's always nice to go to dinner with just them sometimes. Have a good time.

Grady’s going in the pool!
Good job Grady! He looks like he's having fun and the picture of Toto on the float cracked me up! :D Your salad & sandwiches look amazing!

PollyannaMom - I love those flowers! I was just telling Ds1 that I want those for the sides of the house. Since he works in landscaping, hopefully he can hook me up. 🌸

Well, gotta run, like I said earlier we're busy. Heading back to the OR for a c-section. Have a great day and enjoy the weekend! 🍔🌽

Love the pictures of Grady and Toto in the pool. Grady has done so well thanks to his forever family. Love the pictures of the lilies too.

I had a nice dinner with DS last night. We did go the restaurant where Chris and I knew the waitress from all our times there and the previous place she worked. She said she had been thinking of me and I told her I had been thinking of her and her husband. He is in remission now but still not too strong. It will take time. It was nice to get some good news. After dinner DS came up to the condo and we talked for a while. He will be back tomorrow with the rest of his family. I think Chris set last night in motion. He knew I was lonely and sad.

Younger DS just texted and asked if I want to meet them at the zoo. Of course I do! I have my pass and will meet them there soon. They are so nice to think of me. I just talked with Chris' cousin who was more like a brother to Chris than a cousin. I try to keep up with him as he has multiple health issues. Unfortunately cancer has come back, but caught early so treatment will be decided soon. He has such a good attitude. Please send prayers his way for remission again.

I did my grocery shopping at a different Market Basket today and I did not cry. I am not thrilled with the store as it was crazy busy already at 7:15 am and it is so loud in there but if that is what it takes to do my shopping without tears, then that is what it is. I bought alot of stuff last week and then this week so I may not have to do much shopping next week, maybe just for salad and seltzer. I am not really eating alot so I have stuff leftover in the fridge. I had to put some stuff in the freezer. I got a latte on the way home as a treat. Cookout at younger DS's house Monday so no need for me to have stuff for dinner on Monday.

Bathrooms are cleaned, office dusted, condo vacuumed.

Have a good rest of the day.
