Good chilly morning DIS family..it is only 48 outside..brrr..had to put a sweater on to feed the cats, lol. Tried 2 Nyquil last nite, and honestly they didn't work as well as just one did the night before. Woke on and off all night , so going back to bed as soon as I hit send on this.
@Pea-n-Me..it would be an excursion for sister in law, IF she didn't do this several days a week. It was almost 8 last nite by the time they got here with my groceries. Good thing I didn't wait for them to start our dinner..I do not like eating late! And niece does not know what it means when you say "don't buy big nectarines, peaches, plums or bananas..as the ones she brought are huge, and will take days to ripen. But they mean well. They have to go to a funeral today, so are going to bring me some eggs from their chickens and get their reusable bags back. I only put cold/frozen stuff away last nite, left the rest for this morning

Going to be 70 today, then temps start rising again, but I think our 80-90 days are done, unless we get some Indian Summer

No plans for the day..taking it easy on my back,,did too much yesterday. Have to start /finish fall cleaning soon, so it has to get better quickly!

Have a nice morning all..back later to check in

Happy Friday!!!!!

Working from home today but I have to work at my other job tonight so at least I have a chance to get laundry and cleaning done today. Tomorrow I have a bridal shower to go to for my future daughter-in-law. Her family is having their shower at a winery so it should be nice. Only bad thing is that it's at 11:30 so I'll probably only get 2 hours of sleep after I get home from work in the morning. Oh well, not like I haven't had that happen before.

The food pictures from the Oogie Boogie Bash look awesome, so cute.

It feels great outside today. Using my lunch to take my daily walk, should feel good. Made cupcakes this morning, the kids will have to stop by and pick them up. Hopefully Ds3 will get up in the attic this weekend and get my Halloween decorations out for me, I'd like to start putting things out either Sunday or Monday.

Nothing much else is going on, need to go down a switch the laundry over :laundy: and I probably should get back to work :surfweb:. Most likely won't check in over the weekend so I hope everyone has a great weekend. :flower1:

:tigger:Sounds like you and your DD had a wonderful time, AuntieMe3 despite the heat. It sure has been hot out here. Is that a candy corn decorated sugar cookie in one of the treat pictures? Looks tasty! Have fun again in December!

Lol, Pea. I do remember as a young child, how my beloved grandma loved to browse and take her time shopping. I never did understand that and admit to sometimes feeling impatient. But it brought her joy so that was really what counted along with the time we got to spend together. Of course as a kid, I didn't always appreciate that but I sure do now looking back! :)

Hug, Lynn, dad and I also eat fairly early usually by 6. I'm just not a later in the evening person, prefer to be restful! I hope you have a more relaxing Friday, my friend.

Have fun at the bridal shower, Footballmouse and enjoy a cupcake yourself, for both of us 🧁

Happy Friday to all🐣

Lynn I hope your back feels better with some rest and care.
@AuntieMe3 Great pics from the Halloween bash. The goodies look so good! Have fun planning your next trip. That is half the fun.

I also do not like to eat late. I find my stomach gets a bit upset if I eat after 6 pm. I do go to bed early so that doesn't help.

I took today off and have been out doing errands. I have an appointment at the bank this afternoon to sort out some stuff. Not my favorite thing to do but necessary for retirement planning down the road, Then I am going out to dinner with a friend. Her dog has kidney issues and I have alot of kidney diet foods leftover from Jasper. Her dog eats the same food so I am giving her what I have. I have been lax about finding places for Jasper's treats and food but I am on a mission now to give them to doggies who can use them. We donated his unopened regular food to a shelter. I am giving his treats and the poop bags to our kids as they both have dogs. HIs coats and toys will be put in a bin and stored downstairs. I miss him like crazy, especially lately, but sometimes feel his presence. May be crazy but it is comforting. Our vet sent a sympathy card to us and she called Jasper a firecracker. That describes him well. I am sure he still is where he is.

Happy Friday to all. The weekend is almost here! Flu shot this weekend so more fun coming my way! LOL!

Good Afternoon as it is just past noon.

I am so glad it's Friday, it's been a long week. Temps are pleasant today, right now about 68. Yesterday was warm and WET!!! it came down in buckets when I picked the boys up after school. My feet were soaked so I switched to dry socks as soon as I came home. I want these feet healed.

@Pea-n-Me - I love the pics of the horses. I may be a city girl but I love to go horseback riding. We had stables right near me when I was a teen and I went riding several times a year. We did have to walk them when we got back to the stables and i was kicked and bit once or twice. The stables were shut down by the city because they did not take great care of the horses. They sent a pregnant mare out with an inexperienced rider a few times and she was due to deliver. A friend of my aunt's was one of the riders and she was almost thrown a couple times. Thankfully my aunt switched horses as she could handle the poor mama to be.

I had a day yesterday. First I got an email from Southwest that my flight to Disney changed. Thankfully it was just the flight number. Then I got an email from American that my flight home changed - I was NOT happy. They combined both late flights into one and leaving 2 to 4 hours earlier. American changed their policy last year and now you can only get a refund if there is a 4 hour difference. They worked it out that neither flight met the criteria. The later flight missed by 15 minutes. Mine was a 2 hour difference. I called and was given the option of a flight the next day but that wouldn't work as I had no hotel reservations and Disney is booked. Then they gave me the option of a later flight but I would have to fly to Miami, switch planes and get home 2 1/2 hours later than my original flight. I was not flying SOUTH to head north and having to deal with my husband switching planes with all of the carry ons. I finally asked for a supervisor because the final option was a credit to be used by June 10, 2022. I could live with the credit but we have a cruise planned in July. They extended the credit til July 31st. I don't know what it is with American. When I took the big trip 4 years ago they changed times and the plane and rearranged all of the seats. I was on the wing, the seat I was assigned didn't exist. They separated my daughters family completely and she was traveling with an almost 3 and almost 4 year old. The boys were separated and with neither parent. It took hours to straighten that out. I am flying into Seattle a day early just to make sure I have no issues in July. The positive out of it though is parking at the airport was just made easier. Southwest only flies in and out of the one terminal. American at times lands in the International terminal and it would be a hike to get the car.

The football situation with my little guys is almost resolved. My daughter is waiting til the game tomorrow to see if they play Benny. If he is sidelined again she has decided the boys are off the team. Practice the other day was the team using Benny as a tackling dummy. The coach literally had him line up against every other player on the team while they all pounded on him. His brother refused and stopped playing so he could help Benny up after every hit. Personally that would have been it for me. I am glad I wasn't there. I will stick to baseball.

I cannot wait for Disney.

Big :grouphug:Snowysmom. I admire your kind courage for gifting Jasper's food and treats onto other dog's who can use it. I believe from Heaven Jasper is thankful you did. He's indeed high tailing it around in Heaven, perhaps he and my Champ have even become friends. I also know, knowing he's at peace doesn't always abate missing him. Remember always we are here and care. Enjoy your dinner tonight!

Taz Dev, if it were me, I'd never have let that happen to my son to begin with! I have no words other than how cruel? Inexcusable? Both actually feel mild for what my initial reaction was! 🙏 for the entire situation and, of course, you in the midst of this!

I had left the field by time this happened. They played on the other side of the fields where the oldest had a baseball game. I think my son in law and daughter were so shocked at the moment they didn't know how to react, but talked after the boys were in bed. I have a tremendous amount of respect for their parenting and they don't want their feelings to influence their boys. However Ben wants to quit and Wyatt isn't sure, he isn't fond of football but he doesn't want to just quit. I think after tomorrow it will be a moot point. I don't think I would have held back if I were there. The funny thing is my son played at this organization 20 years ago and I yanked him after a couple of games because of the coach back then. It was my son's first year and he was on the "B" team. The coach had the "A" team players come to the games because he wanted to win at all costs. My son made a mistake, not a huge one, and he was benched. The next play and an "A" team player cursed out the ref and of course got an Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty. The coaches reaction - "Next time don't let him hear you" and put the kid right back in the game. I told the coach he would have my sons pads the next day. I would not let him go back to that team. My husband didn't fight me on it and my son was upset but understood my reasoning thankfully. The league disbanded the following year, I think because of complaints filed. If I knew where to complain to I certainly would. I am still fuming over the treatment of my Benny. He is such a sweet kid, takes nothing to serious but he was upset from what my daughter told me.

Oh well, back to reorganizing pictures again. It is keeping me sane.

@taz, that happened to our flights both times we flew this summer (SWA). Booked non-stop only to find out we were moved to flights which had layovers and/or plane changes. They also moved us to different flights from our DD who bought her own tickets. So there was a lot of phone time and trying to change things around again and all that. We even went down a day early to get a non-stop flight this time. We love SWA and never had this problem before, but I guess since the pandemic they’ve had staff shortages and layoffs, etc. (I know there was a pilot shortage even before the pandemic since lots were retiring.) They have their people working long hours.

This isn’t the exact article I read before, but it gives you some idea of the industry-wide problems they have since the pandemic, and if you look over at the Transportation Board, there have been some threads about it.

Got to be 75 and sunny and delightful outside. Went next door early to ask them to mow. He started at 11..then said he was going to wait till it dried out. At 1, he knocked and said he was running down to get a pack of cigarettes, and would be back to finish mowing and weedwacking. At 4:30 I called next door, got voice mail..so walked over (with effort). His Dad answered the door, and I asked if Kevin was going to finish mowing. He said he didn't even know if he was home. I said well since I already paid him, I would appreciate his finishing before it got dark, as he said they were busy for the next few days. Kevin just called my cellphone and said he got his cigarettes, laid down for a 'few minutes', and they just woke him up 3 1/2 hours later. Said he was finishing his coffee and then would be over to finish the lawn.

Sister in law is at Walmart again? They were there for almost 3 hours last nite! She just texted and said they were on their way here with the fresh eggs, but they got blocked in a parking spot at Walmart and had to have them page someone to move their car. I cannot figure what on earth they needed to go there again today for..lol!

Wow, Lynn, when you are paying someone to do a job within an hour or so, it should be completely finished period within an hour or so! That is a Walmart mystery!

I'm so happy to have received the last two deliveries needed to complete my Christmas packages! Dad will mail on Monday. Yay to be done with all of that!

Good Morning. Just a bump up as we were almost at the bottom of the page.

The little guys have football today so I will head to the game and see what happens. May head to the Amish Farmers Market close to me this afternoon. My daughter in law told me they have a furniture maker there and I am still pricing dining room chairs. Other than that plan on a lazy day.

Good chilly morning. It was 44 degrees when I woke up at 4, think I better shut the bedroom windows a bit more before going to sleep,,it was cold in there, lol. When I fed the outside cats, you could see your breath in the air when you breathed~ Going to be mid 70's. Guy next door finished mowing around 6, said he would finish the weedwacking this morning, fine by me, I don't have to do it!

Slept fairly well, on and off, but at least got some sleep. Mr L just fell asleep in his chair at 6:30 and one of the cats is sprawled across his chest, lol.

Have to strip and remake bed, and clean both bathrooms today, that may be the extent of it.

Sister in law spent almost 3 hours in the Keyser Walmart today, but for 30 min of it, she was stuck in her parking space. Some moron parked almost sideways in a handicap spot and had her blocked in. Niece went back in to service desk and asked them to page the driver, but noone showed up. Some lady who was a truck driver, attempted to help her back out, but their Bronco was just too big to get out. The other lady finally comes out and says oh I didn't realize I parked like that. The truck driver lady called her out on it,,lol. She says you were in a hurry and just grabbed a parking space, and were inconsiderate to the person already parked next to you. So the idiot lady instead of getting in her car and moving it, stands behind SIL's car and doesn't move, till the truck driver lady told her to move her butt..lol!

Have a great morning all!

Quiet thread so far this morning. Prayers that means each of you had a good night's rest!

Quiet, cool morning here. I'm going to enjoy a 🥞 treat shortly.

Taz, many prayers today's football game is much kinder to all! Have fun at the market :)

Wow, Lynn, that sounds chilly! Keep warm, my friend. LOL, that seems odd to say since I know it's been so hot out there for you lately!

Happy Saturday, to all. I'll check back in later :grouphug:

Good Afternoon.

The football games was what I expected. The 2 boys were put in for the last 4 or 5 plays of the game. I really dislike this coach and win at all costs mentality.

Decided to put off the Farmers Market til later in the week. We had food distribution at church so I headed there. The Amish Market is only open a couple days a week but it is insanely crowded on Saturday. I figure I can head there, try and find the antique market that is close by, hit the camera store and the graveyard where my 3X or 4X great grandfather is buried all in one trip since they are all in the same area. We had a tornado go through that area a few weeks ago so I want to see if there was any damage to the graves. I have an antique grandfather's clock I want to get rid of so I figure the antique store up that way may be able to help me but I want to get a couple of good pictures of it on my phone to show what it looks like. I tried to google but it is not helping.

The rest of today will be TV on the computer with the headphones on while my husband watches football. Hope everyone has a nice day

Happy Saturday.

Edited to add...I forgot to add quotes to reply to some stuff before I started my update and now it won't let me add them so I'll be back later or tomorrow to do that. :sad2:

Made the million dollar spaghetti last night and it was so good...just wish I had some garlic bread to go with it. DD and DH really liked it.

Today's our good friends birthday so we'll be going over for a swim party to celebrate. Still hot here. .yuck.

Hope you all have a great day.

Good afternoon from me, too :)

Taz, hug, I'm sorry about the coach :( Wow, you have a full day! I hope you enjoy your shopping and are able to get a good price estimate on your clock. Then, you need to come home and rest! :)

Enjoy your friend's birthday celebration, AuntieMe3 I'm glad the spaghetti was tasty :)

Hello everyone.

Watching Maryland football and typing on my iPad. My laptop is acting all wonky and it’s too frustrating to use. It’s not that old.

Went back down to camp yesterday and it was a beautiful day. DH weed whacked and I painted outdoor benches. The third job was roofing. I think the avaerage age of volunteers was 70 so not a great bunch for roofing. We left after lunch because we had Longwood tickets and other things to do. It was so nice and I enjoyed the community that I could have stayed.

Today we got up and went up to DH’s sister’s house. She is going with us to Sanibel in 3 weeks and has a lot of dietary restrictions. I wanted to menu plan and make a grocery list as we are arriving earlier on October 16 driving and will grocery shop. We will pick her up at the airport that evening.

Then we went to Lancaster. I wanted to go to the Corningware Corelle outlet to get a cupcake carrier. Also bought a couple other things that I didn’t know I needed. Lunch at CFA The stopped at our new favorite Amish farm stand to buy a small apple pie. They advertise 9 kinds of pie and our goal is to try them all. Also had to get a Whoopi pie for the ride.

Cookout tonight for dinner.

Always! (I sometimes go to the one in Corning when we visit family near there. I don't think I've ever walked out with "only" what I went in for. :rotfl: )

I love the pie quest, too!
