Quiet afternoon here. I did just get a book from Paperbackswap that I had requested. I also got two birthday cards that I'll save to open until my actual birthday. Extra Blessings all-around for sure

I found the perfect shirt for our group to “virtually” wear tomorrow on May the 4th. ( May the force -star wars) . I was looking up events to go to this summer and this minor league team is within 150 miles of friends in Pittsburgh, PA, Columbus , OH and Toledo ohio

Anyway, Kaya is out of surgery, but I don’t have any further updates. I’ll post an update when I know more, but probably won’t be able to post until tomorrow evening/night.

The bad storms missed us, but they had tornado warnings to the East of us..hope all in it's path stayed safe. It dumped down rain again, so it's muggy and foggy out, temp is 63 going to be 81 and sunny later.
No major plans for the day,,if the garden is dry enough, I will run the tiller through it. If not, I will weed and mulch another flower bed or 2.

Good morning everyone.
It was a bit damp out this morning but it would appear the majority of the rain missed us, as did the thunder storms. Muggy out there is morning though. Talked to our BIL last night who had just arrived at Universal Orlando, where he said the pools (and specifically his location, the pool bar at Royal Pacific) were closed around 7ish for storms in the area, so it would seem there were storms far and wide yesterday. I think I saw a blip on the news this AM about tornadoes somewhere else, unfortunately I wasn't able to pay attention and get more info.

Mahi for dinner this evening. Grilled most likely, served with greens of some kind.

ummm, well that's about it! Nothing terribly exciting to report on my end. Good thoughts going out to all those with family members experiencing health challenges at the moment.

Morning all.

A little damp here today. The boys are back in school and were moving very slow today. I think I may have gotten them to school a tad late but what can I do. At least things are back to normal.

Other than food shopping there isn't much on my agenda today. I am watching the Star Wars marathon and since I spilled Iced Coffee down my shirt, I am clumsy like that, I put on my Yoda shirt. Yes, I admit it, I am a Star Wars fan. I have a cat Yoda and a dog Chewbacca. Thankfully my husband gives me free rein when it comes to naming the pets.

Good morning.

Totally missed posting yesterday. Sometimes I just have nothing to say. Changed the bed sheets and winter comforter to summer spread. Picked up the repaired bikes. I bought a new seat but it may be too hard. I have 30 days to return so need to get out for a good ride. We had turkey/feta/spinach burgers with sweet potato and left over apple/carrot salad last night. Then I had a worship team zoom meeting.

What I thought was an interesting tidbit from the meeting. I questioned about singing for the congregation for in person worship as I thought we were not doing that. This past Sunday they did announce not to sing but just quietly read the words. I asked about the two weeks before as that announcement had not been made. The pastor said that was an oversight. Went on to say the the singing at the baptism was much more boisterous that the new members the week before. Of course, we were mostly regular church attendees with at least 4 choir members there and in the week before, several of the new members had never set foot in the building before.

Yesterday we also went to the library, Home Depot, and DH got his first shingles shot. He has a sore arm today.

I may try to get my garden dug today. Tonight's dinner is left over Easter ham I got out of the freezer. Not sure what else.

Yesterday DS and DDIL sent lots of Snapchat pictures from Hawaii. Looks like they are doing a lot in a short time.

We had one brief shower, bad thunderstorms to the west of us that missed us and passed to the east..stay safe out that way! Sun is out and the temp is 80. I got the rest of the front yard flower beds all mulched, only have the other side of the house to do tomorrow after grocery shopping. Leftover brisket for dinner with mashed potatoes and peas and corn

Hey everyone! Was a stressful evening last night for North Texas but we weathered the storm fairly well. Most of the activity was northwest or southwest of us. There was a lot of thunder, lightening and strong winds. One tornado confirmed and other areas the verdict is still out. There was a big accident on I35 south of Dallas. Haven't heard yet if a tornado crossed the interstate there, was just bad weather or driver error. We lost our cable/internet about 8:30 pm so I spent the rest of the evening watching the weather on my phone. I kept drifting off and once I saw that the storms south of us were changing direction I called a friend to see if she agreed with me that it was probably safe to head to bed. I am tired today........

DH just took the GKs off to Academy to get them out of the house. It's too wet to play in the yard.

I've wrapped up a couple more financial things of my mom's. I'll be glad to get it all behind me. My sister and I still need to go through her closet. We've done it once already but there are a couple of boxes of papers that need to be looked at. I'm pretty positive it is just stuff but you never know.

Took a couple of returns to Kohls and Belk. They both finally have their dressing rooms open.

Dinner tonight is new to us, a fajita bowl. Got the recipe off of a Rice A Roni Spanish Rice box.

Hot and humid here. It feels like summer, but I am not complaining. Also feels like a thunderstorm but not sure we’ll get one.

Didn‘t do much today. Balanced the checkbook and made a hair appointment.

We are going to Sanibel in October. Thought maybe we’d spent one night near WDW on the way south to go to Disney Springs and eat a meal at a Disney hotel. But then I looked at hotel prices. Outrageous! Not sure what we’ll do but it won’t include staying on property.

Kaya update: She was having terrible muscle spams for ahwile, but they added a pain medication and it has improved. The surgeon thinks it was successful, but only time will tell for sure. She's in a partial hip spica cast (A full spica cast goes from the ankles to the rib cage, with the legs spread apart in a V shape, with a bar between the legs. I'm not sure if "partial" is refering to the length on one or both legs) for the third time, and is obviously not happy about that. Still has a lot of recovery to go.
