Hello, not much to add today, as I am unable to walk much... just to the bathroom.

tazdev3225........ Can I ask why you have had to have so many surgeries on your knee? I don't know why but, I am more than a little afraid this surgery will not be successful. If I am prying feel free not to answer.

It is beautiful out today, I might try to go outside for a bit later.

I have a congenital issue that caused a lot of my issues. That coupled with playing sports, tennis and softball so a lot of wear and tear on the knees, and I had the first surgery at 32 although I needed it earlier than that. My meniscus shreds on its own now is the best way to put it. The right knee has fared better for some reason, I only tore that taking pictures of the beach covered in snow. I was hiking in knee high snow on sand dunes. I didn't even realize I hurt the knee til the next day when my knee swelled up. Each surgery was successful so I wouldn't worry.

Just a quick drop in to say hi. Headed out to watch my grandson play baseball again. He has 2 games today, thankfully the fields are right next to each other. One is with his Elite team and one is with school. He did great yesterday - 2 hits (one was a double) and a walk, and7 stolen bases including home 3 times. I love watching him play.

LOL I was just thinking, "I should probably check in."

So yesterday (Saturday) had me fluctuating between 89.9 to 99.7, and just being pretty fatigued, and then lower back pain that kept me up last night until I finally realized it wasn't going away and took a Tylenol. I know. I'm stubborn sometimes. Still a bit of back/muscle pain today, but has been better the past hour or so after I laid on the couch for a bit.

@lynxstch I'm glad your granddaughter seems to be doing better. Seems crazy to me that they couldn't admit her on a non-psychiatric/general medical floor. Mental health is medical!!

I've got a young friend (met her family online) who is having her third hip surgery for hip dysplasia on Monday. The short story on how we connected is that I had hip dysplaisa as a child, and try to support families and kids who are going through it. Some time I'll share me full personal story here, I think. Anyway, back to my friend, Kaya. Even after her first surgery on this hip (don't know if it's the right or left) she still has NO hip socket on that side, so this will be a very major reconstructive surgery, and basically three surgeries/techniques in one.. This young girl has had many other significant, life threatening medical issues, and has already been through so, so much. My heart just breaks for her. If you're on FB and search for "Prayers for Sweet Kaya" you can find her story.

Thanks for the well wishes. Sending prayers to Kaya for a successful surgery, and that the third time is the charm!

Hubby took a long nap, and I couldn't waste the nice weather. I went out and weeded and mulched and put my decorative fence around both flower beds and bushes on this side of the house, and around his magnolia bush. If I can get a few done every day this week, in between rain and mowing, I might get it done by next week. I have 2 beds against the front of the house to do,,a big circular garden in the middle of the front yard..around all the crepe myrtles and holly and box wood that line the front of the house,,and several flower beds on the other side of the house. Then my rose garden and all will be done.
Dinner was really good..they were a tad heavy on the pepper on the 'salt and pepper' brisket, but it was very tender. Off to watch some tv.
Have a nice nite, stay cool..it's supposed to stay at 63 overnite here!

@allisonjoy prayers for your friend.

My grandson wound up only playing his one game. Both teams played horribly today. His Elite team lost something like 18-2 but Anthony had a double and scored one of the 2 runs. His school team was playing across the street and kept texting my daughter to see if he was coming over. They lost 11-0. That team really wanted him. He is their best player and that came from the coach not a proud grandmom.

I have some color for the first time since the summer of 2019. Unfortunately even with sunblock that color is RED. I remembered to put sunblock on my face which gets red anyway and wasn't thinking and forgot my arms. I am so used to wearing long sleeves I was enjoying the breeze on them. My mom will scold at me when she sees me. My husband came to the game and this is only the second game he has ever seen the grandkids play in. I made sure he had a hat on to cover his bald spot but he is tan otherwise. Thankfully most of the kids and grandkids inherited his more olive complexion and don't burn as easily. I do make sure they always have sunblock on, now if I could just remember more than my nose for me.

The grandkids are all over the Covid and my daughter thankfully is doing much better than she was. My illness induced vacation is over and I am back to early mornings to get the grandkids to school. Only about 6 more weeks and they will be on summer vacation. The time flies.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Apparently Mona and I are the only ones around today? Very unusual that noone else has checked in! We are already at 78 degrees and there is a very warm wind blowing. So nice out!
I know! That is most odd. I hope our other Quacker family members are okay, maybe catching some extra sleep :)

I'm here! Just had a bunch of school and house stuff to catch up on today, and then I watched a movie instead of getting on the computer. DH grilled steak for dinner, and I made fries in the air fryer and salad. I'm off to exercise in a few minutes, and then do dishes.

Feel better, Allison! Much prayer indeed for Kaya! It is always heartbreaking to hear of children who have to endure health trials :(

Just Googled Crepe Myrtle Trees, Lynn. They look similar so jacaranda trees, so very pretty. I hope you rest better tonight! Continued prayer for Lily.

Go Anthony! How great that both you and tour DH got to see him play ⚾, Taz Dev. I am so glad to read that. Also thankful to hear your daughter is feeling better.

Always good to see you, PollyannaMom :) Hope you enjoyed your dinner.

fence? is plastic, wire...fancy loops or just straight...foot tall or 3 foot tall....and have you ever seen anyone use your type of fence as a light fixture

Good evening.

Today we watched church then I made deviled eggs and a Turkish carrot and apple salad for dinner. Had bought corn on the way up from VA. Invited DD and family to dinner to cook out.

DD took DGD to parking lot Sunday school at church this morning. Then she gathering with some friends from her work right in town near us so DGD came to stay with us while DSIL took care of DGS. We all got back together here, with their dog for the late afternoon. Such beautiful weather. DH and I took Tessa to Fair Hill for a 1.5 mile hike. She got to pet a horse. The rider offered to give her a ride but we passed on that. Tried to see the goose family, yesterday we saw them with 6 babies, but didn't see today. Did see some fish in the creek and I taught her what May Apple and Jack in the Pulpit plants looked like.

Also been stalking DS and DDIL as they fly to Hawaii today for a vacation postponed from April 2020. Been tracking their flight. It is long. They are landing in Honolulu now.

Finally got the kitchen cleaned and toys put away. Time to relax. Grandparenting is exhausting.

about 10 years ago when aluminum colanders , barb wire, chicken wire were being turned into hanging lamps. they were using the old round wire fencing for lights, had to be rusty and worth more money if it had different colors of paints. Wire fence was hard to find in oregon, anything garden metaal.. was all sent to ship buiilding during ww2..

Good rainy Monday morning all. It's going to be a QUACK'er day..rain all day long. At least it's warm at 65 degrees, and won't go up much more. I don't plan on doing any cleaning today, did enough the last few days that I can take a break. We both have headaches (assume its the rain), and hubby has been up and down since 1:15, which means I didn't get much sleep either.

Have a nice morning, will be back later to see what everyone is up to!

Good morning all -

Got a fair bit accomplished this weekend, mostly Saturday, so that is good. My husband got home yesterday afternoon and we did...NOTHING! It was delightful ha ha - we walked down to the dock and talked to the eldest as he fished for bait. Walked back up and sat on the porch and enjoyed the wonderful warm weather and the breeze. Rarely do we do that, although we always say we need to take a moment to relax and enjoy things a bit more. We were talking about our schedules over the next month or so and figure it will be July 4th weekend before we know it.

Got a nail appt. after work today. Husband and eldest leaving to drive to LA to pick up a boat on Wednesday after work, they should hopefully be home Friday evening. Saturday I'm going to visit with some family members I have not seen in...well I guess well over a year now! How odd to vocalize that, they are only a hour away and I used to see them several times per year... looking forward to that visit. Sunday I've got no idea what we are getting into, if anything. And next week we are hauling a golf cart down to FL for my folks to use at their new place. Busy few weeks coming up for us.

Venison tenderloin for dinner this evening. I've ordered fresh Mahi for dinner tomorrow night. The dogs and I will keep it simple the rest of the week since it will just be us.

Have a great morning everyone.

Our lilacs are pretty much done blooming already :( I did pick a bunch of Lily of the Valley's the other day,,they smell so good.

We went from sunshine to almost black skies. They say we are in for thunderstorms with possible hail and gusty winds..here we go again.

Asked stepdaughter how Lily was, if she saw the therapist today, as I know she wouldn't bother telling us if I didn't ask. Her reply was --They want her to have inpatient treatment to adjust meds or start a new med but there aren't any beds available anywhere. So still working on keeping her calm and safe for now. So I guess it's just a 'wait and see' for now :( I did ask her if Lily contacting people out of the blue, saying she loved them and missed them was part of what the hospital suggested to help keep her safe..and she said 'Yes just for her to try to reach out to more people and to know that she is loved by so many." Would have been nice if she had told us that beforehand instead of everyone thinking the worst!

Off to watch a show before dinner..which will either be leftover meatloaf or leftover brisket, or leftover spaghetti and sausage. It's nice not having to come up with new meals for a couple of days, lol

Have a nice afternoon/evening everyone

Storms here too this evening lynxstch. We're under a tornado watch until 11 pm. Our cap is disintegrating and with the temp close to 90 and a cold front moving through, we have all the right conditions for severe storms, possible baseball size hail plus a tornado or two. We love the caps in the spring/early summer but don't like them July/August when it keeps the rain away. Another late night for me.

I was able to talk awhile to my aunt on the phone. It was so good to hear her voice. She is my mom's sister, had a stroke on the way home the evening after my mom's funeral. She has a couple of health issues now including recuperating from Covid. DH and I are going to try and make it up to where she and her my uncle live in Oklahoma in June. My uncle has health issues too. Their oldest DD is my age and she fortunately lives down the road from them and is able to help out a bunch.

I just found out that DH's older sister's cancer is back. We'll need to call her. We were just there to see her a month ago and she thought she was going out of remission.

Yesterday was one of those days that at times seemed so long and then time passed quickly. After vacuuming and cleaning our bathroom I was able to clean out the cabinet above our landline. I had stuff in there from 20 years ago. We had a basket with keys from years and years ago. It's so nice and spacious now. Feels good. My next project is to clear off the top of my desk hutch and the hutch cabinet. I know there are computer games in there that date back in the mid 2000's.

Went to Lowes today to get tomato cages and maybe some Caladiums for the pots on my front porch since the bulbs didn't seem to be coming up. I left with bird spinners, one each for the GKs. Lil Joe picked out a hummingbird and Lou Lou got a flamingo. They are stuck in the ground in the flower bed outside our family room window. The GKs are tickled pink and love to see them "flying". I'm going to see if DH will make me some tomato cages like some he made a number of years ago. The ones at the store are too tall for my raised bed. It's waist high so the wind will just knock them over. And the GKs and I discovered today that my caladiums are coming up so I'm glad I didn't buy more.

Dinner tonight will be meatballs and rice, probably green beans and something else if I feel like it.

Ya'll have a good evening and if I don't get blown away I'll see you tomorrow.
