Clouds have taken over the sun,,temp is 61. All cleaning done, bed stripped and remade, sheets washed, dried and put away. Just assembled 95% of the greenhouse..it's bigger than I thought . I did it in the dining room, and barely fit it out the back door to put in the yard, lol. Have to put the cover on it tomorrow..put a tarp over it for tonite when it rains. Will be so much nicer to put all my tomato plants in , rather than the 'upside down umbrella ones' I have been using for 15 years..paid $2.99 for them at Big Lots,,lol..they served their purpose. This will be so much better!

Page 2! :(

That greenhouse looks nice, Lynn 🌱 As always you amaze me wit your cleaning/household energy!

Not much going on here. We just got a big Walmart delivery of Kleenex and Swiffer refills. Waiting on 2 cases of Aquafina+soup from Amazon Fresh. regular mail I don't think has come yet but all informed delivery showed was a solicitation. Are any of you getting less regular mail lately? This last week, we sure have not gotten much at all, some days nothing. Next week, I am expecting some packages through the mail.

Hope all of you are having a good Saturday.

Good evening all -

Got a fair bit accomplished today- yard & house work. Tomorrow I shall tackle the porch ahead of hopefully power washing the porch next weekend.
Expecting some decent thunder boomers this evening. We will see ... youngest is home, so I'm planning a bigger breakfast tomorrow morning, hopefully after I get to sleep past 6AM!
Took the dogs for a walk thru the creek earlier today - tide was super low and so they spent a lot of time in the mud! But they had fun so we let them have at it, and just ended up with a unplanned major wash down afterwards this afternoon.
Back is still achy but I am hoping it feels better tomorrow. I think half of it at this point is residual achiness from holding myself stiff for past 24 hours.

Got a few things done today-- brought garden decorations out of winter storage, vacuumed out the auto, hubby mowed some of the lawn, hauled away some weeds and such.

Yesterday we went to an area about an hour and a half away known for some of the Amish shops there. I bought some annuals, bulk goods, and cheese. It was a nice day but my knee hurt so much afterwards.

Hope everyone had a good day and got to do something you wanted.

Good morning everyone! Started raining around 7 last nite and is still sprinkling. That explains the headache I got just before bedtime. Still have it a little, will be taking excedrin and going back to bed for a little while. They are calling for cloudy and 60 today, then the temps start climbing back up. As of right now, everything is too wet to do yardwork, kind of hope it stays that way till tomorrow, lol
We got quite a few shows wiped off the tivo yesterday. 2 of the ones taking up a lot of space are 39 episodes of Hawaii 5-O and 12 Centennials, which hubby wants to start getting through today. I plan on putting a pork roast in the crockpot for dinner, so the main part will be taken care of.
I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, do something for yourselves today!

Good morning everyone. Bit chilly and wet here today. I woke up to it raining

I actually managed a relaxing and a bit chilly afternoon at my grandson's ball game. Thankfully he is over the Covid virus and able to get out now. My daughter is still suffering so it was nice to spend some time with him. He's 13 and very quiet but such a good ball player on a team that is really BAD!!! The coach was thrilled to have him back but wouldn't let him play on the field just had him as a DH. It was his 1st game back and his shoulder is still not 100% so the coach was being cautious. My grandson had a strained shoulder and they are working on strength exercises and mechanics to build it up. He did great with the bat though. He reminds me of his cousin Jay. He stole second and without skipping a beat stole third on the same play. The next pitch he stole home. He had the biggest smile on his face that it was really worth braving the damp chill. He is supposed to have 2 or 3 games today, a double header and then his school team, but thankfully the rain may put a stop to that. Or I will be sitting at cold, wet and muddy fields.

Today is my dad's 86th Birthday. I feel so lucky to still have him with me. My mom invited me down for dinner and cake to celebrate this afternoon which will be nice.

Not much else going on today. Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday.

Good Morning from cool CA.

Carter is so precious, Carol. God Bless him and Tessa, too! Thank you truly for sharing his baptism with us.

Feel better, Lynn, and you enjoy a cozy relaxing Sunday.

Yay for your grandson, Taz Dev! Continued prayer for your daughter. I am so glad you got to see him play.

That greenhouse looks so neat. I got a little crazy a few weeks ago and replanted my spider plant babies and then Cosmos and Zinnia seeds into little pots. I ran out of windows to place them by. After May 15, (hopefully the last frost) I’ll plant them outside. the long stick like one is a Red geranium that I got 3 years ago and bring in from the porch each fall. Finally, the tulips survived the brief snow we had earlier this week. Suppose to be 80s this coming week. So crazy. 570354570355570356

Good afternoon.

Whirlwind 24 hours. DS and DDIL arrived about 9:30 last night. Talked for a while before everyone went to bed. Up this morning. I made cinnamon rolls from a tube, then church. I did not realize how much I missed in person worship. It was so wonderful to be in the sanctuary with all people I knew. The deacon (She is ordained but has different qualifications) is a friend of my DD and in her pod so assisted to hold Carter. She had read at DD's wedding and officiated at DS's wedding. And the organ and music is so much better in person. Then we went to Carter's other grandparents for a little gathering after, which was very nice. Everyone except the kids were vaccinated. DH's sister joined us and I think she enjoyed it all. DS and DDIL came back here and we went to a nearby brewery for lunch before they heading home. It has been a wonderful day so far.

So glad some of you got to join us virtually for worship. My brother in CT also sent me pictures from watching the service online. I think this internet is here to stay.

Think I'll go enjoy some more of the sun now.

I sang on the worship team for the first service, and second service I served in the nursery for the first time in over a year. I got to snuggle a baby/toddler!! It was nice, and I've missed it.

Nice! Old normal is starting to creep back in, in drips & drags as my Gram used to say.

I've been - well I've been down right lazy today and not done to much! Made breakfast for youngest before he went back on his way, and popped over to the next town over where there is civilization and a JC Penny & Kohls to make two returns. Husband has been putzing in his garden a bit and I think - once we muster the gumption - I'll drag him out for a walk. No idea what will be for supper, but I'm guessing it will look a lot like last nights supper seeing as how we have a lot of leftovers!
The restorer is done with the painting of my grandfather, I'm picking it up tomorrow. Very much looking forward to seeing it. I think I'm going to take it to the framing gallery straight away and have it reframed immediately. I'm very much thinking of having some other paintings (by same artist) cleaned. They have been living in my closets for the past 30 years - and before that hung on my grandparents walls. They were smokers, so I'd very much be interested to see them cleaned!

The pollen has really made itself known in the past few days, I'm so ready to finally get porch washed off. I hope I can get that chore tackled sooner rather than later.

How wonderful - sounds like your family had a great day, and together at that!

I'm really enjoying hearing everyone tell their stories of getting back out there and gathering with the people they haven't been able to be with. It's so nice to hear GOOD news these day.

@sparkle78 I love the pic of the tulips in the snow.

Well Baseball was cancelled as was my invite to my dad's birthday dinner. My mother is so infuriating at times. Yes I was around my grandson but he is NOT contagious any longer. I had my vaccine as did both my parents, My 2 brothers and my sister in law have not gotten theirs yet and my nephews go to school so who knows if they have been exposed. As proven by my one grandson you can be contagious and have NO symptoms. My 2 brothers are still invited and my mom was at my younger brothers house for my nephew's birthday on Friday. I mistyped my dad's age - he is 85 today, so I have missed his 84th and 85th birthday now, I wish I was watching baseball in the mud.

Three more days and they are all considered to be non-contagious although my daughter may not get back to work this week. She still tires very quickly.

Oh well now I have to figure out dinner since my invite was cancelled. Hope everyone is having a good afternoon.

I did a whole lot of nothing again today.. I did get the cover on the greenhouse (pic at bottom), and put it in a safe spot till I decide where to do it. It's nicer than I thought. It was an Aldi's 'find' last week for $39.99 (same thing on Amazon was almost $60, so I feel like I got a good deal. It's got 6 adjustable shelves, 2 zippers in the front, and you can roll the door up and hook it up with velcro straps. I think I am going to like it. Will probably take it apart for the winter and store it in the cellar.
Pork smells so good..have real mashed potatoes and carrots, and whole kernel corn along with the pork and applesauce (I put some kraut in with the pork too, as hubby likes it
Glad to read that some of you are getting to experience a more 'normal' way of life again,,maybe more and more of us will get to it sooner rather than later.
Have a great evening everyone (afternoon for you Mona)

Don't know why picture is sideways,,but you get the idea! lol!

Good evening friends

I've had a nice Sunday. I got to text with a few friends while trying to stay warm on the couch. For me, it's cold in here again! So looking forward to the :sunny:mid week! I also watched a new (to me) predictable yet very sweet Hallmark movie that I had recorded last night called Second Chances It reminded me a little of Holly and Ivy from Christmastime. In Second Chances, the two young kids read to seniors living in an assisted living home to earn money for their single mom. In Holly and Ivy, Melody the kindhearted lady who adopts her friends daughters (when the friend dies, I think from Cancer :() starts a Bookmobile to bring books to those in need.

I posted back in December how much I loved that idea and thought it could be part of the Smile Squad ministry idea God truly keeps growing in my heart either for one day at my current church post pandemic or perhaps at a new one. Today's movie added to that with the thought of how cool it would be to have a Stories and Scripture program where church kids could share a book or story either with an elderly congregant or perhaps someone in assisted living. Perhaps part of the time could besides a time of prayer include time to discuss favorite scripture or maybe that current week's church scripture of Sunday school lesson. An extra way of connecting hearts and to one another as they also grow in faith to God.

God Bless you, Allison! That is so cool you sang as part of your church worship team and helped with the babies, too. You made a difference all-around :)

Thank you again, Carol, for extending the invitation to all of us. I am truly thankful you got to enjoy such a Blessed day with church and family.

Hug, Easyas, again I am so glad you got to visit with your youngest. I so agree how nice it is to read stories of being getting to see one another and family a bit more!

Just :grouphug:Taz Dev, I'm so sorry :(

Thank you, Lynn :) Yay that you took care today and relaxed!

Wishing all of you a cozy night.

Long but satisfying day today.
Girls did great on their demonstrations both getting blue ribbons. 16 year old got a white ribbon on her Short Take which is basically doing an impromptu speech. A lot of it she had a subject she really didn't have any passion about and she knows that it showed. She is fine with it though and I am proud of her for not saying what others wanted to hear just to get a blue ribbon but instead standing up for how she honestly felt on the topic she was given. In short take the kids are given 3 minutes to prepare some notes once they draw the card for their topic and then have to take for a minimum of 30 seconds if they are 8-10 years old, 1 minute for 11-13 year olds, and 2 minutes for 14 and up according to their age that they are on October 1 when the 4-H year begins. They can talk up to a maximum of 5 minutes but they don't loose points for going over or under though at 4 minutes 30 seconds are given a signal to do their summary and conclusion.
Ended up having to go to the grocery store twice today once on the way to the communication day events as last night when getting everything ready 16 year old could not find the bottle of teryaki sauce she needed for her stir fry that she thought was in the fridge. She had DH look for another bottle in the can goods cupboard only for him not to find one. So we stopped and she ran in really quick getting a small bottle-which she used just about all of making the stir fry for her demonstration.
Made a plan stop on the way home from Communication Day in order to get some fruit trays to take to the family get together. Originally I was planning on making a broccoli and caulflower salad which I was going to triple the recipe. The original recipe calls for 3 small heads of broccoli cut into flowets about 4 cups. The 6 heads that were in the store last nigh when the girls and I went shopping were so small I might have been able to get 3 cups if I used some of the stem pieces. I ended up calling my mom while I was in the store to check to see if she was making either a macaroni or a taco salad. She wasn't and since I had the stuff to easily do a macaroni salad was going to do that. DH and I talked when he got home about do we want to do that or just pick up some fruit and possibly vegetable trays. He said just pick up some trays as I would be going back through town close enough to the store. The selection for vegetable trays was out but I was able to get a couple of fruit bowls-nice ones that will work for catching stuff in our multi grater. We had a bowl for a couple of years ago that we had also cleaned and repurposed but it ended up getting broke by 13 year old so now we have a couple of replacements-one which will be placed in storage downstairs until it would be needed. I also ended up picking up a larger container of teryaki sauce as we use that a lot-what can I say it is one of our favorite flavors for seasoning meat. I also got a bottle of seasame and ginger teryaki marinade which 16 year old and I are excited to try. We might be a little bit adicted to the stuff but frankly we don't care.
Since stairs are hard for me to navigate I just stayed in the truck while DH and 16 year old got the items we needed to drop off at the house unloaded. Sent 13 year old in to use the bathroom after the drive plus since we had to put the cooler and the box of stuff needed for the girls demonstrations on the backseat of the truck which only has the back a suicide door access on the passenger side. For those not familiar with a suicide door on an extended cab truck there is a back portion that opens the opposite way of a normal car door-there is some controversy as to how the name came about. One theory has to do with drivers hitting the door when it is open pinning people between the frame and the door. The other one has to do with mafia groups during the prohabition era tossing people who crossed them out those doors that since they were open would hit their victims making the deaths look like accidents that were often ruled as suicides. Anyways since 13 year old had to get out anyways it just made sense to send her into use the bathroom.
DH, 13 year old and I went over to the clan get together which was a bit smaller in attendance than some as a lot of the families who are not close with children in school did not travel due to the distance.
