Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Good morning to everyone!

Retirement is boring during a pandemic-lol!

My folks were saying much the same the other day! We are feeling it a bit, too- never been so excited because we MIGHT be going up to Lowe’s in all my life!

It’s cold here, don’t know the temp but our high is about 34 but sunny . The sun is up & bright causing the ice & snow to sparkle.

Good Morning all.

It is a balmy 25 here. Should be fun as the kitchen is demolished and the front door is open.

Well I got almost no sleep last night. I have all the visions of what can go wrong running through my head. The biggest worry is that the floor under the sink is wet. We won't know what the issue is til we get the cabinets out but I suspect it has to do with the dishwasher. My grandson isn't to concerned and thinks the biggest think is we may need to repair the subfloor. The kitchen is almost completely emptied just a couple things to move but I ran out of boxes. What is left will be donated to a drop box around here. Dishes and silverware mostly that I have already bought the replacements. The cabinets come Friday and the new Fridge and Stove Saturday. Dishwasher has to wait on the countertops. In a couple weeks I'll look back on this and wonder what I worried about.

I may need a trip down the shore just to relax. Even in the dead of winter I do love walking on the beach.

Hope everyone has a good Saturday

Good morning.

25 here going up to 30. It is sunny though.

Retirement is boring during a pandemic-lol!
I so agree. Our plans were to travel and eat out, neither of which we can do now. But I am glad neither of us have to deal with seeing patients.

Even in the dead of winter I do love walking on the beach.
Me too. I see a drive to Rehoboth in the next few weeks. Usually we go this time of year for lunch somewhere by the ocean.

Today‘s plan includes driving to Kohls for a curbside pick up, stopping by church to pick up soup from the Methodist Women’s soup sale, and maybe the library for a curbside pick up.

Our outings around the holidays were for COVID tests, which we aren’t doing now.

Stay warm!

Good Morning all.

Love Minnie (Lynxstch) and Rubber Duck (PollyannaMom) so cheerful. Thank you for sharing those.

Hugs to all. Sometimes even something seeming so small as going somewhere for pickup (or for me the dentist for a cleaning) can be exciting right now because it's "new" and a change of scene.

Taz Dev please get some rest. I hope all the demo goes well!

Have a good Saturday friends and do something restful/enjoyable for yourself please!

It actually warmed up above freezing. At least the street will clear up some. I'll have snow forever. My side of the street gets no sun.

Demo is going fine. We did find the shut off valves are leaking so I will be putting a bucket there til I can get a plumber out Monday. At least I know it wasn't a huge problem as the floor is sound.

Eating some lunch and relaxing. I may even sneak in a nap.

Afternoon all.

Did our errands - Kohls, church, library, and added a stop at the University of Delaware creamery to bring home ice cream for later tonight. I got a flight of 4 smaller scoops. Finished current jigsaw puzzle. Seeing DS tomorrow and will hopefully trade some puzzles with them. Have to figure out dinner.

Dad got his first Moderna shot earlier this morning
I am sure that you are both relieved. My advice for him is to keep hydrated. DD and DH swore by Gatorade, especially after the second.

Thread rescue from page 2!

Dad is still just fine. Thank you all so much for your prayers and good wishes going forward.

I have Falling for Vermont (don't think I have seen it) set to record tonight on Hallmark. I don't have an interest in Mix Up in the Mediterranean. Hope all of you are watching something enjoyable and as always keeping cozy and of good spirit.

Happy Saturday friends...today has been a lazy one for us. DH was up early as always, after DD left for work, he got bored being the only one awake so bugged me until I finally got out of bed. LOL We had breakfast and then took a little nap. Then we met up with our really good friends for an outside lunch....lol We parked our trucks side by side in the parking lot and ate on our tailgates. The sun was warm but it was really windy so that was annoying. Our lunch was delicious and the company was great. Hubby wanted to go to Costco after lunch but we just came home and watched some TV. We were still full from lunch around dinner time but now that it's getting late and we're getting hungry. Hubby suggested In N Out burgers so we may take a drive for that.

Good morning DIS family. Thought I'd say good morning before I crawl back under a warm blanket. It's 10 degrees outside, going to warm up to 37. Then another 10 degree night tonite,,then warming up. Might get to 55 on Wednesday! I did cleaning yesterday, along with laundry, so there isn't much on my to do list today. Defrosting a roast to put in the crockpot for dinner. I want to get out of the house today, anywhere, just to get the car running and get hubby into some fresh air. He hasn't been outside since Tuesday. 2 of the outdoor cats showed for breakfast at 4:30, the others will make an appearance when it warms up a bit.

Have a nice morning, stay warm!2bbbc69022b7e881ea7835c7c9f064ae.jpg

Good morning.

I agree with PollyAnnaMom that Auntieme3 had a great way to social distance.

Hubby suggested In N Out burgers so we may take a drive for that.
This brought back a good memory. In 2010 we took a family vacation to the west coast. DD was 24 and DS was 22 and had just graduated college. One of the most memorable and enjoyable meals was in San Francisco when we had dinner at In N Out Burgers then walked to Ghirardelli for sundaes for dessert.

It is a cold, but sunny day here today. Wednesday it is supposed to get up to 48! It's a heat wave. I haven't been able to walk for a few days so we are heading out soon. Jasper will be happy to walk later today.

On Friday morning I went onto the CVS website at 5:30 am and it said adding appointments for the covid vaccine. I refreshed every minute until it said you could book. I got an appointment at a CVS 30 minutes a way while I got one for DH at a different CVS also 30 minutes away. We both had our first moderna vaccine yesterday. I am so grateful and thankful for being in the right place at the right time. My arm is sore and swollen a bit plus I am a bit tired. But that is it. We have our second one scheduled too for 4 weeks from yesterday. The MA main website is still a disaster. I recommend trying CVS or Walgreen's to try for appointments in addition to the main website. I am so relieved to not have to deal with that website again.

I grew up near the beach. My favorite memories are going to the beach with my mother. We went a few days a week. Sometimes we would get lunch and eat on the beach. Sometimes my best friend would come with us or I would go to the beach with her family. Good times!

@flyingdumbo127 Glad your dad got his vaccine. He must be so relieved.

Good day everyone - productive morning for us taking care of some household maintenance chores that are now done. It's sunny, cold but not windy out and so a walk is in our future this afternoon.

It really needs to be better organized in alot of places.

Had a interesting experience yesterday - went into our local Walgreens to pick up a RX for both myself & husband. Drive thru window was getting worked on so I walked in to pick them up. While in line I witnessed a older woman trying to check in for her first Covid shot. It would seem the Walgreens website allowed her to sign up, gave her a confirmation - which she had - and she was instructed to be there 10 minutes early. Only Walgreens had no vaccines, and the website didn't notify her, nor did anyone from the store notify her. It was a breakdown in communications, apparently from the website side of things. According to the store manager the website facilitates all the scheduling and it never should have allowed her to sign up. The woman was not happy, but understood it was not the fault of the store folks although she did spend 5 minutes informing the manager that she ought to inform the website folks that this was happening to people. It wasn't pleasant to watch unfold, I felt bad for the woman with the appointment, or rather the non appointment.

Not planning on doing much more with myself today than maybe the walk. Went to bed with a bit of a head cold, and woke up with one and a slight sore throat. Pretty sure it's allergy/dry air based, I get it about this time every winter. Did get a fair bit of the my closet cleaned out yesterday and ordered some new shoe racks. Currently have one of those over the door holders but it's about done and I'd rather have them on racks . I still need to thin some clothes out but did get rid of two pair of shoes

No idea what dinner will look like this evening, I should put some thought into that!
