Good morning DIS family! We had about 1/2" of snow last nite, heavy stuff, and had to use the shovel to clear paths to the shed, around the car etc. I don't want hubby slipping on anything when we leave in a little while to do errands and grocery shopping. At the moment its 34 and we have bright sunshine, but there are some big dark gray clouds hanging around.

No updates on Lily yet..just messaged stepdaughter to ask how she was when she left here there last nite, and if they know how long she might have to stay this time.

I had to laugh at your Princess bandaid @sweetpeama--where are you that you are expecting a foot of snow, if I can ask?

My ex sister in law in MA said they got about a foot of it between Monday and Tuesday..and they are expecting another storm coming soon. I think we might luck out and not get it, but will get at least a day of cold temps

Have a great Friday everyone!

I am in Yellowstone County, Montana which right on the line between the SouthCentral and SouthEastern portion right at the foothills of the Rockies.

Pictures were taken along the Beartooth Highway the end of May, 2020 starting from the Red Lodge side with the last one being taken not too far from the MT/WY boarder in the WY part.

Beautiful! We haven't spent much time out west, although one day we'd like to. Lived in Parker (Denver area), Colorado in 2000 for about 5 months before deciding if we were going to buy a house or move back east....we loved, LOVED the Denver area but missed the water more, so we decided to NOT buy there and return to the eastern shore of Maryland

It is 6 degrees out. brrrrr.

Dang - that is COLD.

Pleasant evening to you all.

We were supposed to be leaving today on a 12 night cruise out of Baltimore to the southern Caribbean. We booked it in October 2019. Kind of a bummer.

Got to go see DGS crawl and feed himself yogurt melts. And I played with DGD with her toy house to give her some one on one time.

Came home and had dinner. "Big Wave Dave" was a sandwich we liked at restaurant in OBX and I make a similar one. Chicken breast with pineapple and melted swiss cheese on top. That with leftover veggies was dinner.

QOTD:If you or your family does your Super Bowl eats, what is on your menu?
We have never been big partiers this day. DH likes to watch the game so doesn't want a huge crowd any year. And with me following WW, I am a party pooper on lots of junk food. I am going to make chili tomorrow. And I did buy chips and salsa, and of course beer. Somethings are just worth the points.

Nothing on TV. We played Yahtzee now DH is watching college basketball.

Beautiful pictures, Sweetpeama!

I would definitely be an icicle, DazedX3! A perfect day for you to have stayed in pj's!

I've only read about Eastern shores, Easyas and they sound scenic to me. Dad did go to Colorado a few years ago and took some nice photos. I hope you do get back out West post plague and make it to LA, too!

Hug, Carol, I'm sorry about your trip. I am so glad you got in some grandkid time :)

Have a good cozy evening everyone.

What do we eat while watching the Superbowl? I doubt we watch this year but if we were going to we'd probably have queso with chips.

Good news on my aunt. She is doing well, full control on her right side that was affected by her stroke. Talking tires her out, she still struggles with comprehension and coming up with the correct word but is getting better.

My sister and I started going through our mother's photos, took us three hours to go through one large tub. We sorted them into different family categories to distribute once we're done. Then she had to leave which was fine. I needed to make Lou Lou's lunch and then put her down for a nap. Then I spent most of the rest of the day sorting through the different piles of pictures. Three more tubs to go! My mom took a lot of pictures. We haven't gotten to the older ones where there are family members we don't know. I started a private family page on Facebook and have started posting pictures of people I don't recognize. Getting very good response so will get the answers hopefully for them all.

Good morning all..it's lightly snowing, when we weren't supposed to get anything. But it's only supposed to be snow showers, and no accumulation. Possibly another storm coming in on Wed, can't it just be Spring already?

@Breezy_Carol, sorry about your trip, that is a bummer. I would much rather be cruising to the Caribbean too!

@Kirby-great news about your Aunt!

No plans for the day. We don't watch all the noon-game time hoopla. Try to tune in for the Anthem and game, that's about it. I hope it's a safe, fair game, with not a lot of injuries, and with a Buccaneers win, but who knows.

Edited at 7:30 to add--their 'non accumulating' 'snow shower', has now accumulated to almost an inch and is still coming down. Big fat flakes which they say will end at 9:45,,but they also said it was a snow shower and wouldn't do anything. Well everything is now covered in snow again, and everything that was clear and dry yesterday is now white again :(

Edited again...snow stopped a few min ago..about an inch..weather channel says its raining now,,but its not, the sun is trying to come out, so that will take care of the snow

I made hubby text stepdaughter to ask about Lily. I tried Friday and yesterday and got no response, as usual. He texts her and gets an answer in under a minute..I give up! She said Lily was a little better last nite around 8 when she called, but that all she does is cry and cry and doesn't want to be there, wants to go home. My guess is it's because this time she didn't ask for help like last time,,this time she was told she HAD to go there, and had no choice..right now it's the safest place for her to be!

QOTD. Super Bowl food
years ago, before kids ,my sister-in-law would have a party at her house. then men would watch the game in the living room and the ladies would watch the commercials in the kitchen. I enjoy all the snacks - things i don’t make , but love when others do. the mini meatballs in sweet sauce, 7 layer taco dip, chips and french onion dip. Etc
last few years, I watch about half the game it’s my hubbie and then go to bed.
I do like to make the warm spinach, artichoke dip on the back of the Knorr packet. You warm it in the oven and it goes great on Tostitos scoops and since you use a package of frozen spinach , i feel its a bit healthy.

3 years ago, we went skiing on Super Bowl sunday night, great time to go , not many people on the slopes. enjoy the day. However you watch the game. Or commercials

Kirby good news on your aunt.

Lynxtch we are getting snow here too, I am not happy. I hate shoveling but it is pretty to look at.

LJ is a fighter. I talked to my grandson yesterday and they took LJ off of the CPAP, his Oxygen supplement is down to 25% from 30. They want him down to 20% and then they will take him off and see how he does. If he doesn't struggle for 48 hours they will get ready to send him home. His lungs just weren't mature enough when he was born. He has lost some weight but that is normal. He is eating 5 oz. at a time and would go for more if they let him. Mom has been pumping so he is getting that with formula in the hospital. She has been nursing him when they visit and he had a little trouble figuring it out the first time now he has that down too. Hopefully he will be home by the end of the week so I can finally see him.

I did head out to Lancaster with my granddaughter and we had a fun trip. Saw 2 new bridges, got lost because t is so easy to miss a road out there, they aren't well marked. We stopped at the outlets for the Disney Store and I got LJ a cute little Mickey jacket and 2 small stuffed animals, Pooh and Dale, They were only $2 and are baby size so he can grab them. Over all it was a fun day. The only problem with the bridges is finding somewhere to pull over to get pictures. We did manage a few.

This is the Poole Forge

And I think this is the Hunsecker's Mill Covered Bridge. We did see one other but that is in my camera and I always have issues with size

Since we aren't doing Super Bowl Sunday at My son's house this year, a 17 year tradition gone for a number of reasons and Covid is the least them although, we are having no finger foods and probably pepper steak for dinner.

Have a good day everyone.

Love the pics, tazdev!

Sorry about the trip, Carol.

Hoping things start looking up for Lily.

It's just the two of us this year, so not a ton of food - but still enjoying the chance to have apps for dinner. DH is making wings, and I'm doing stuffed mushrooms. I already put coleslaw together this morning, and I bought a bag of Chex Mix and some pub cheese for crackers.

Good morning.

@daztev3225, great pictures. And I am glad LJ is making improvements. If you ever want to come to Fair Hill, MD to see our covered bridge, I'd love to meet you there and hike a trail. We could have a mini-meet with @easyas123 and anyone else who wants to make the drive.

We are getting heavy, big flake, snow this morning. 3-5 inches predicted. We have nowhere to go.

TV is the plan for the day.

@daztev3225--Great news on LG getting stronger. Hopefully he will get to come home very soon,,am still sending him prayers every day.
Great pictures, so pretty. We will have to take a drive in the Spring if hubby feels up to it and see some of the ones around here. If he still remembers where they are. Since I'm not from around here, I have no idea, lol!
@Breezy_Carol and @PollyannaMom--sorry you are getting more snow. Ours ended , the sun is out in full, the temp is rising, and the snow is melting
@PollyannaMom...such a pretty kitty, none of mine like the snow either! And thanks for the good wishes about Lily..we are all pulling for her to get through this~~

That sounds like a great plan. You are only about one hour away from me straight down I 95 into MD. Maybe when the weather is a little warmer though.

We are getting the same snow. I will have to shovel again. 3 times in one week is a little much.

My back , arms and sore knee agree with you on that one..they say we could get 1-3" Wed and 1-3" overnite into Thursday, so don't put the shovels away just yet :(

Good Morning :)

Brr, keep warm everyone! I truly hope each of you who do watch the super bowl have fun and enjoy some favorite snack treats.

Good News about your Aunt, Kirby! I am so thankful to also read such a positive LJ update, TazDev was well! Yay.

Lynxstch, I'm ready for Spring! A picnic with Pooh and friends would be super cute :) Continued prayer for Lily!

Have a Blessed Sunday, friends.

Sounds like better news all around, which is great! Love to all. 💐

We can relate to the difficulties of clearing out parents’ houses, we are doing two of them here ourselves. 😕

This is a work weekend for us and DS is at his girlfriend’s house for the weekend, so DH is enjoying the quiet and I’m sure he’ll tune into the game. Snow just started a little while ago. He made stuffed mushrooms and a chicken noodle soup today. Last year I think we made a regular meal. DH and DS like football but DD and I jokingly call it the Stupid Bowl, lol. :duck:(Which is more than a little ironic since neither of us really “gets” the game. We are hardcore baseball people.)

This morning DD and I saw the four New England Patriots buses with a police escort on the highway in Boston headed to Logan Airport, presumably headed to the Super Bowl. It happened too quickly to get a picture but it looked pretty cool. They took some frontline healthcare workers with them as a thank you, which was nice. In a way, even though not a gushing fan, I am happy for Tom Brady that he can prove himself a winner without the Patriots and without “cheating”, etc. (From what I understand, this is at least partly why he made the move?) As I said, I don’t follow football but it seems like more people like him now that he‘s not in New England anymore. I was reading about how sales of Bucs merchandise, especially his, are through the roof.

Enjoy the evening and the game, those who are watching. I hope the winner is whoever you are rooting for! Good luck!

 Pea, going through a loved one's things is never easy indeed.

How cool you saw the busses. Lol, I admit to not caring one way or another about the Super Bowl. You summed it up perfectly. ITA that I also hope the winner is whoever each of you wish it to be and that you simply enjoy watching the game.

I DVR-ed The Secret Ingredient last night I had thought this was called The Sweetest Ingredient. Now being DVR-ed is Love at Harbor Island--I saw some of it and love how the main actor finds forever homes for puppies! Reminded me also of a lot of you who have opened your hearts and homes to rescue furry friends. I'll share how I like both after watching them.

Two updates. First, Dad was able to make an appointment for Moderna shot #1 in 2 weeks at a Rite Aid near us. Second,I have shared positive experience with Amazon Essential T's. Recommendation is to only buy those that say "heathered." I tried a bright green color (not heathered material) and it was nowhere as soft, felt stiffer to me as well.

Have a good afternoon everyone! 🐥

@flyingdumbo127Glad to hear your Dad got an appointment for the vaccine.

It is snowing heavily here with 3-6 inches of snow expected. Then the temp is supposed to go down to 19 and everything will freeze. More snow predicted for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. I took off Friday to go shopping for youngest DGD birthday. I hope we don't get the snow. I need a fun day of looking at toddler toys. I ordered some clothes from Hanna Anderson and a book with buttons that make animal sounds. She will love it.

We will probably just casually watch the Super Bowl for a bit mainly to see how Tom Brady does. We bought a box of cheez its to snack on. I am making pasta fagioli soup for supper. We do have frozen yogurt if we want more to snack on.

saw a little blip on news about the chaplain of one of the big hospitals in NYC...Langhorne? Langone? That one...anyway, they are taking him , and his family. Turns out they are massive Chiefs fans to boot - the guy who owns the Patriots was taking them as his personal guests, I thought that was nice - how often does a everyday middle class family get to go to the Super Bowl en masse w/ those ticket prices? Anyway, I thought it was a nice gesture.

Snow stopped about a hour ago, we've got a very light rain/sleet thing happening now. I really enjoyed the snowy day! Was snowing when I got up even, but we didn't get that much Maybe 2"? It's a heavy & slushy snow.

Husband cut up the wings, they and ready to hit the oven in a while. Aiming to have food out around 5:30-6PM. Had a good nights sleep, took a nice walk thru the fields in the snow earlier, house is straightened up and fire is roaring. Settling in with some Hobbit until the game stuff starts. Guess it already started - I should say until the kids & husband commandeer the sitting room TV!

I did head out to Lancaster with my granddaughter and we had a fun trip.

Those are great photos. I need hike up there and see some sights -

If he doesn't struggle for 48 hours they will get ready to send him home.

Fingers crossed he is home and settled in soon!
TV is the plan for the day.

Pretty much here as well-

o don't put the shovels away just yet :(

Some idiot (ME) left our shovel down by the garage doors, not next to the porch steps. I'm not going to make that mistake again! I does seem there is a bit of precipitation in the next 10 day forecast. I just hope it's not ice.
