I am paying for my activity today right now.
I decided to do some cleaning beside my chair and ended up stretching wrong to get things. Still need to get some items behind the rabbit cage turned cat bedroom (we had a cat that we knew would jump on things a couple years ago that managed to get herself injured and had to have stitches so we brought that in and confined her in there with a kitty bed and a small box for a liter box along with a bowl for food and a bowl for water. That cat has refused to use the cage but when we opened it up one of her brothers and her sister decided that it was their bedroom on various nights so it has stayed. Those two now play who can get to it first almost every night) and the top of the cage cleaned off.
Got DH to get the upstairs fridge freezer cleaned out again and for a while it looked like he might have killed the entire fridge but it did start running again. We don't think for long but at least that gives me more time to do some research into one that will fit our budget and more important time to get taxes done (need to schedule an appointment) and hopefully our refund back though we usually have a small one. Otherwise we are looking at wiping out our entire emergency fund or a at least a good portion of it as we only have a baby one right now as we are still on baby step 2. If anyone follows Dave Ramsey you know what I am talking about. The plan is if we need to we either keep everything in the downstairs fridge and just have to haul it up as needed along with using a cooler for stuff upstairs so that DH can haul stuff up for me for the evening and the next morning so I don't have to get him up especially if we end up with bad weather as he does not like me to go up and down the stairs due to my coming too close to falling too many times. The other option is we haul that fridge upstairs temporarily and use that one and just not have one downstairs. Either way I get my some help in getting some cleaning done.


Totally spaced 4-H communication day, dept N (anything not involving an animal) and council meeting tonight until about 10 minutes after it started luckily thanks to trying to get connected they hadn't started and I just turned off my video tonight as I was having a jammies day today.

We have a storm warning coming in from 3AM Friday to 5 PM Sunday night expecting 8-12 inches of snow. Wind chills are expect to fall below zero.

While cleaning today and picking up some papers I had piled to go in the trash I managed to get a paper cut-luckily I managed to find a Disney Princess bandage in my small stash so I have Belle hanging around my pinky finger. I decided to order some more just so I have them on hand.

I have dinner figured out for Sunday working with knowing that while DH should be off around 2:30 and home by 3 even with the roads provided they only have an 8 hour shift and not a lot of people call off. So knowing that I need something that will be good for a cold day and that can be held over if needed I am going to make a huge batch of crockpot alfrado lasagna and if it somehow ends up as a lasagna soup oh well we will deal with it. DH will stop and either grab a loaf of garlic or french bread on his way home from work.

Good morning DIS family! We had about 1/2" of snow last nite, heavy stuff, and had to use the shovel to clear paths to the shed, around the car etc. I don't want hubby slipping on anything when we leave in a little while to do errands and grocery shopping. At the moment its 34 and we have bright sunshine, but there are some big dark gray clouds hanging around.

No updates on Lily yet..just messaged stepdaughter to ask how she was when she left here there last nite, and if they know how long she might have to stay this time.

I had to laugh at your Princess bandaid @sweetpeama--where are you that you are expecting a foot of snow, if I can ask?

My ex sister in law in MA said they got about a foot of it between Monday and Tuesday..and they are expecting another storm coming soon. I think we might luck out and not get it, but will get at least a day of cold temps

Good morning all-

Again, apologies for missing so much, I think I missed most of the last week. Continued good thoughts for the babies & everyone else with health issues hounding their families and friends.

A quiet weekend, for the most part, for us. I have a meeting down at one of the chicken plants on the shore later this afternoon, and I'm working on the logistics of another meeting down there in the next few weeks. This damn Covid just adds another layer of paperwork atop already huge piles of paperwork. I have a grocery pick up tomorrow morning, where I predict I'll not be able to get everything, which will necessitate stopping at another grocery on the way home...oh well. It is what it is. Youngest coming home Saturday night for two nights, so I'd better plan a proper dinner Saturday!

I'm fine..just dealing with some stuff that had to be taken care of earlier and I lost track of time..Thanks for being concerned and noticing I wasn't my usual early bird self. I was up at 4:30. Tried to pay a couple of Dr bills online, had issues with their site telling me I wasn't entering a valid account #..Morons decided you now have to put a 0 in front of your patient account #, but there was nothing about it on the site. Even online chat couldn't figure out why I was having troubles. Then I had to renew our Office 365 and upgrade it to a family account so hubby can add it to his laptop and phone if he wants. Then I had to message sister in law and stepdaughter, and in between all that I had to feed all the cats, clean litter boxes, feed the birds, get hubby's breakfast ready and do dishes, lol. Getting ready to head out in a few..temp is already up to 43~
Just got answer from stepdaughter. When Lily saw the therapist (it was last Thursday, not this week like I thought), she said her meds needed to be increased as she is still having suicidal thoughts , and that it would be better in a safer, more controlled environment. She didn't say what happened Wed nite to make her take her to the ER, and I didn't ask. At least she's where she is being watched carefully, and getting meds under control and having more therapy

I'm a little stiff today from the fall yesterday but the prescription strength Ibuprofen helped a lot. The knee is feeling a little better today. My mom even called to check on me, will wonders never cease. My mom and I have an odd relationship, she shows concern by criticizing and that isn't always what I need. I have a lot of trouble with that knee though so she was actually nice about it.

I had to skip the food distribution yesterday - Mom's orders - and they gave away 90 boxes of food. I hope we never have to turn people away, there is such a great need.

I am waiting on pics of LJ and will share when I get them. I am getting anxious to meet him. Hopefully soon.

Cable box rebooted 5 times yesterday that we were aware of. It makes a whooshing sound before going completely black. Then it starts to reboot, goes black again, and finally does go through the rebooting cycle. Should that continue today, Dad will be calling Spectrum!

Extra thread bump and of true importance, extra prayers for LJ and Lily!

TV has been up to its unwelcome tricks twice so far. Dad will be calling Spectrum soon and will ask about some type of discount/reimbursement. This has been going on for several months

A Target reminder. Dad received yesterday an email indicating he was given for his birthday an extra 5% one time coupon through Target Circle! It appeared today in his Circle wallet. Easy to ad. This can also be used online which may be handy for me this year. I added my birthday onto my Target Circle account. An extra 5% (on top of the 5% Red card) is an extra 5%!

Errands and shopping done. No big crowds, but I swear there were more employees stocking shelves in Walmart than there were customers shopping. Some of the aisles had 2-3 workers with pallets, and they were blocking the rows so customers had a hard time getting down. Did Aldi's with no issues.

Also stopped at Bath and Body Works and redeemed the coupon they sent me for a free wallflower refill this week. They also sent a coupon good for a free item up to $7.50 but they will only let you use one free coupon a day. Will redeem the other one next week. I gave the 2 20% off coupons I had to the lady in front of me and the lady behind me..they had baskets full. They were more than happy to accept them.

Stopped at Subway on the way home and used one of their 2 foot longs for $12.99 coupons. Hubby got a steak and cheese with double the meat..should have been 10.79 . I got a tuna which was $8.59 or 79 can't remember which. But she rings it up, puts the coupon in and it ended up costing me only $10.59??? lol. I wasn't about to argue with her or the cash register. She acted like she didn't want to be there in the first place,,sighing everytime someone asked her something,,and never said thank you to any of the customers. She needs a different job not in the public! We each ate half and will either have the rest later tonite or for lunch tomorrow.

We don't have to go out all weekend now if we don't want to. We got up to 46 degrees with sun today, and most of the snow melted, but an awful wind has come up and is making it hard to even walk out there. Had to feed the cats, and the wind pulled the storm door out of my hands even though I was hanging onto the handle. .

@flyingdumbo127--sorry that you are still having issues with the cable box Mona..they need to come and replace it with a new one, and check all of the connections. You have been dealing with this for way too long

Sorry about Walmart, Lynn The aisles should not have been blocked to that extent! Yay that you got two free coupons from Bath and Body Works. So kind of you to share the coupons, thanks for doing that. I used to give un needed printed out coupons to shoppers, too. You had a good outing with even getting extra food at a bargain price. You needed some extra cheer, my friend, so glad you got it Please stay safe. As I have said before, wind is not my favorite weather element at all! Thank you, Dad will be calling Spectrum very soon. Hubby has been working from home today and listening to his work calls is giving me anxiety. He gets the job done and his point across but man, it stresses me out. All the higher-ups really appreciate his effort though so its why they end up giving him the tough jobs to deal with.

Next week, my sister and BIL are going out of town for a few days so I will be going to San Diego to stay with my niece. Looking forward to getting out of my house, even though I'll just be going to their house. LOL

This weekend we need to clean, our house needs a good purge...I already started today with our master bathroom cabinet and my side of the counter and medicine cabinet. Hubby is taking a nap during his lunch break and it's making me tired....lol I might lay down for a little myself, I didn't sleep well last night. Too much on my mind.

I ended up getting a grocery pick up time this afternoon so that is done.

Then it turned into a beautiful sunny day with temp up to 49. We went to Fair Hill and hiked just short of 4 miles. A lot was still snow covered and we stayed to the gravel carriage trails because the single track trails were so muddy. It was wonderful to get out.



Need to prepare my last Blue Apron dinner tonight, It's a sheet pan chicken and roasted vegetable meal.

Spectrum update is a more advanced (their words) technician is coming out next Friday afternoon. This time, he will also check outside poles and do a more thorough inside check. For our trouble, we are immediately getting a $10 discount off next month's bill. The billing customer service person said once the technician has determined our issue is truly resolved and a few days later, we agree, to call back. At that time, they will determine a further discount. Sounds fair/good to me. Thank you all again for listening to this saga!
