Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Love looking at your trees! Mine is nothing special, 3' tall with plastic ball ornaments that the kids can't break. Gifts are wrapped as I have time and placed under the tree. This year I wrapped almost all of them one afternoon a little over a week ago. Santa goes out unwrapped after the kids go to sleep.

I checked in with the facility where my mom is and they said that she is not having any Covid symptoms. She is not running a fever but they do have her on breathing treatments, I'm assuming because she has asthma. Good news to hear!

I am one of the few that doesn't have a DVR so no help from me.

We had a large can that popcorn or something came in. It was pretty and had pictures on it. That is where all the dog treats went right out on the hearth.

I fixed ham slice in the frying pan, instant mashed potatoes, and left over green beans for dinner. Then I made chocolate oatmeal no-bake cookies.

@easyas123 and @lynxstch, did you listen to Hogan? I was watching a Hallmark movie(like I couldn't figure out what would happen) so just read the closed captions and the statement after. Essential travel only but no out of state travel. So I can drive 3 hours to Ocean City or 3 hours to western Maryland, but not 30 minutes to DD's in Delaware. I am going to be a lawbreaker. And @easyas123 , where will you shop? I can see the restriction but make it a 50 or 100 mile radius from home, not out of state. I am 6 miles from PA and 6 miles form DE. 35 miles from Baltimore.

I had no idea he was speaking -yet again. I will have to check online for the press conference. Wonder if he was he wearing a mask this time? I usually only shop near us anyhow, but we have a discount grocery store that has exceptional sales every week, and it's right over the PA line, less than 4 min from us, so that may turn me into a lawbreaker too. That makes no sense, like you said, you can travel 3 hours in either direction and stay in state, but you can't drive 1/2 hour to see your daughter? :(

Good morning. Woke up too early.

@lynxstch, he wore a mask the entire time, even while speaking. No problem hearing him. And apparently I missed this part which I later read in the Sunpaper.

Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C., are exempt from the order, which was issued Thursday and is effective immediately. Hogan said the state isn’t planning aggressive enforcement of the order, rather relying on the “good faith” of state residents.

Glad to hear he had his mask on, it's about time! Our paper somehow missed the bolded above! So does that mean that we can travel to those states, or that people from those states can travel to ours? Does it mean I can make the 5 min drive over the state line into PA to go to my favorite store, without getting arrested ? :P That part is confusing, at least to me. But since they are relying on 'good faith', I guess it really doesn't matter, does it~~

I am reading it that I can go into DE without fear. Also, two of the trails we hike in Fair Hill go into PA. Now I don’t have to be careful. :-)

I just watched most of the conference from yesterday. Hogan finally made me smile,,when he held up a special proclamation saying that "Exempt From Covid guidelines are
Santa Claus
All Non Human Elves
All reindeer needed to pull the sleigh"

Happy Friday! Quackadoodle to all.
For some reason we have had quite a difficult time getting a med refill for hubs. Good news is it looks like it's on the truck for delivery today.
I cooked a couple of roasts yesterday, sliced and packaged them for freezing. It's always nice to have some extra meals saved.
Hope everyone has a nice day!

I hope they show up. Hubby tells me yesterday,oh look, we can get my meds filled thru mail. I said no way in you know where Jose..with all the issues the post office is having, I can't imagine waiting for meds that might or might not show up. We'll make the 10 min drive downtown to CVS to pick them up, or transfer them to Pharmacare which is a 10 min walk from here!

Quackadoodle and Good Morning from me, too!

I also woke up early, was cold, took a while to fall back asleep but did. I'm thankful it's supposed to warm up into the 70's this weekend. AuntieMe3, prayers the nicer weather will help you feel better!

I really liked A Christmas Cure last night. It was about a family doctor in a small town who had been a staple in his town forever as doctor, friend, and confidant. He and his wife were ready for him to retire. Their son was finishing up high school. Their doctor was already a successful doctor of all places here in LA. The daughter came home for Christmas and ends up realizing what she wants is to continue to care and love for the people of her town so she takes over her dad's practice. Of course, their was a handsome, boyfriend soon to be fiance thrown in the mix!

Happy 1 week until Christmas!

My husband does the mail delivery for his meds. He is on many unfortunately, and they all seem to be filled on different time frames. One actually can only be filled monthly. We decided to go the mail route. I only have 2 so I make runs to CVS. Last time they filled my synthesis in a child proof bottle for no particular reason. Ugh! I couldn’t open it! I hate it when that happens! I had to ask for husband to help. I called and straightened it out. We changed Part D Medicare drug plans for 2021 and CVS had the new info which I was happy about. It was still a Silverscript CVS plan so maybe that was why but I was happy to handle it easily.

Afternoon all. Trying to get the energy up to head to the bank to cash my pension check. I just can't get motivated. I'm not sure I even plan to head out to take pictures. Just one of those lazy, laid back days.

You are lucky you have that option. I loved being able to go to the pharmacy. Unfortunately our insurance forced us to mail order. My husband is on 9 different meds for his conditions. One heart med is over $1000 every 3 months and the one diabetes med is $1000 a month without the mail order, I think it was discounted some but I am worried when we lose the insurance. Right now we pay $40 every 3 months for each of them.

His one heart med that he has to have was shipped over 2 weeks ago. I have been tracking and it is in limbo between Jersey City and Philly for 4 days. I could have driven there and back in about 4 hours. I called the prescription company and there answer is I have to wait until January or I can get an emergency 2 week supply that I have to pay for. The supervisor was supposed to call Tuesday, still haven't spoken to her. Thankfully I have enough for now but he needs these meds to help prevent another stroke. It is beyond frustrating. Today I got an email they are filling some more meds and to expect them by 12/26. I'm not holding my breath but thankfully the dr. cut back on these meds so I have enough for over a month if we are delayed.

Take care all.

Quackadoodle back! For some reason Apple wants me to put 2 o’s in doodle
Apparently, Apple, spells better than I :D

Getting ready for a busy weekend on this end. Since Hanukkah ends tonight, I’m now “allowed” to bake cookies (thank goodness the dough is already in the freezer) according to DGD. All will be the slice and bake variety since they take less production time. Bought some cookie tins at Target’s since the local arts and crafts store had none left in stock but to be honest the color and design were underwhelming even tho the price was decent. Should we have the time, I’d like to glue paint/decoupage patterned paper napkins on the lids but no guarantee.

The two of us decided to hit a local mall Wednesday before the snow storm started but wound up going home in the midst of it. What with getting bulky goods bought at other stores in the mall there wasn’t enough space left in the shopping cart to do more than view the goods at BJ’s and make a shopping list of what I saw as worthy for our needs for the CE,CD and NYE menus. Plus the checkout line was hellacious and literally began about 150 yds from the entrance . NO way I would wait on a line that long.

Couldn’t find a cab (of course not) so we walked home with bracingly cold high winds whipping the snow seemingly only around us, Lol, DGD kept saying I looked like Jack Frost so I replied that was better than the Abominable Snowman. Got home stuck some pizza slices in the oven and watched one of the many musical concerts PBS has been running, happily.

Mail order pharmacies can be challenging. At this point he's only required to get one prescription by mail. The rest are local. I hope it stays that way, its easier for sure to pick up from the grocery drive up.

@NYCgrrl I enjoy the nice variety of PBS concerts as well.
This time of year I always look for the St Olaf Christmas Festival broadcast. I think they are repeating last years, I have it set to record.
YouTube has a video of a concert they did in Norway a few years ago. It's from Norwegian TV, which I think is kind of fun.
