Pizza:

If I make it myself? Carmelized onions, tons of black olives, fresh spinach, bacon...with roasted cherry tomatoes instead of sauce.
We once had pizza in Augusta, Ga from a place called The Pizza Joint. I'm not a huge pizza person...but on man, this was FABULOUS.

Had an unexpected visit by DD and DGD today. She had to meet a co-worker to get hand me down clothes. (DD is 36 weeks pregnant and trying to wrap up loose ends before the big day.) Her work is close to our house so she stopped by to pick up masks I made for her. We stayed in the backyard and DGD requested an egg hunt so we did that. Social distanced most of the time. Talked about her impending hospital stay and what I needed to know to keep DGD here.

Dinner was turkey/spinach/feta burgers, sweet potatoes, and green beans.

Question of the day: 4/20: Pizza? What's your toppings? What's your favorite place to order from?
I love pizza but don't get it often because too many points. I like tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms, and pepperoni or sausage. We like a local chain, Season's Pizza. Sometimes I'll get MOD pizza. Then I get a mini with sauce, mozzarella, chicken, mushrooms, and roasted broccoli. Mostly low points.

Gratitudes:
Family visit
Sunny day
Binge watching Schitt's Creek

Pizza toppings? Pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions, hot peppers, sometimes fresh mushrooms, sometimes ricotta cheese. I don’t have a favorite all the time pizzeria but I really liked the pie I got at Blaze last time I was at DS.

Who is pizza person? What's your toppings? Do you make it at home or have favorite take out place?

I'm not a big pizza person (my husband thinks it's basically the perfect food.) I like it, it's just not my favorite or something I go particularly wild for.

I like tomatoes as a topping. Sliced roma tomatoes are best. Tomatoes and basil are probably my favorite toppings. At a place like Blaze, for example, I like to get goat cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil.

One of my favorite pizzerias in the tri-state region is Pepe's. Originates in CT and there is now one in Yonkers, NY. I can't resist their clam pie. No red sauce but lots and lots of fresh shucked clams with garlic and pecorino . A bottle of Foxon Park birch beer and most of this household is happy.
DGD's fav is their summer tomato pie which it local tomatoes, mozzarella, pecorino, and basil or a Margherita. We order two small pies when there and switch back and forth. II can't wait for the summer!

Tonight's dinner was seared scallops in a ginger and orange zest butter sauce served over a bed of mesclun and a quarter of roasted acorn squash on the side. No recipe as I made it up in my head based on what was in the fridge.

Made some meringue bases (AKA vacherin) with the leftover egg whites from the flan/creme caramel, and filled them with scoops of vanilla ice cream, and raspberry sorbet. Felt great to get rid of leftovers and make space in the fridge.

OMG, I can never get enough pizza! I will eat just about anything on it, in any combination, except anchovies. And maybe pineapple, on a Hawaiian pizza...I have to be in just the right mood to have a Hawaiian.

Many years ago, when I had a paying job outside the house, the company would sometimes order pizzas for us for a treat. The place that they ordered from had the best specialty pizzas. The chicken parm would always go first, and I loved the Greek pizza, too (white sauce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, and garlic oil). They had a broccoli pizza that was quite good as well. Another company where I temped for a while once got a chicken artichoke pizza that was delicious. When we order from home, however, we usually get a combo (pepperoni, sausage, hamburg, onions, peppers, mushrooms) from a popular local place called Lulu's (I think I mentioned that I love their shrimp parmesan dinner). Sometimes we go to Ann's Pizza, which is barely 5 minutes from our house. I want to get some from another place called Golden Irene's; people here literally rave about their food.

One time last year, we made a homemade seafood alfredo pizza. Wow, that was so good! Shrimp, lobster delights, and "krab" over alfredo sauce and Italian 6-cheese blend.

Off topic...if I could run this by anyone who would like to chime in. I'm making a "Quarantine of 2020" Shutterfly book for my son. I'm taking so many photos lately, and I have a coupon for a free book...someday, his kids will ask what it was like during the quarantine, and he probably won't remember, but "here's a book that your grandma made to show what we did" :) The first page is an explanation. I wanted to do a summary of what it was, the biggest points...can someone let me know if I'm missing anything really huge? (I know we all live in different states, so things might be different...I also don't want to mention just how many people died. I don't want to make it all sound doom-and-gloom; he'll get those specifics in history class.)

Just found this thread :) I do like pizza, however I don't like places such as Pizza Hut/Dominos/Papa John's. We have a New England-based chain (Papa Gino's) that is quite good. My absolute favorite pizza would have to be from a little hole in the wall in my college's town on Long Island. I haven't eaten there in almost 9 years since I graduated, but this place has the best pizza I have ever had in my life - followed closely by John's Pizzeria in NYC.

Here in my city/surrounding cities/towns in MA there are several good local pizza joints - one serves NY-style, which is nice. Another serves ultra thin crust, and a third is actually a Portuguese restaurant, but they serve wood-grilled pizzas. Most of the time I like just black olives and grilled chicken on my pizza. However, if I go to the Portuguese place, I get their balsamic chicken pizza, which has spinach, roasted red peppers, grilled chicken, and a balsamic glaze (it also comes with onions, but I don't like onions at all, so I get it without) and it is a fantastic pizza.

What a great idea!! No suggestions-sounds great!

I don't really like meat on my pizza. I like alot of fresh veggies and no olives. I also love a white pizza with just good cheese and garlic. We have stuffed pizza place here but it's just meh okay...too much stuff for me. I'm finding pizza here in IN is cut in squares with really ground up sausage on it not just pieces like on other pizza styles. It's acquired taste I guess. I also love pizza with grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, artichokes, red onion and lots garlic on good alfredo sauce. Can you tell I like pizza??

Pizza toppings depend on my mood. Sometimes I like salami and onion; sometimes pepperoni...sometimes a bunch of stuff. I dislike olives, hot tomato chunks, mushrooms and anchovies, so those are never an option.

Made hamburgers, mac n cheese and veggies today for lunch. dinner was fend for yourself.

Pizza -
(my husband thinks it's basically the perfect food.)

Your husband is correct. :worship:

I like all different pizzas, but "favorite-ness" in my book has more to do with crust than toppings. I love pan pizza! - I think it brings back memories from when I was a kid (in a reeeeally small town, where we were lucky to even have a Pizza Hut.)

I like what you've got as well.

For the most part I'm just a cheese and maybe pepperoni gal for the regular.

I hate the pizza chains. I go to a place that has been around since the early 70's. I started really going there in my high school years.

Sometimes I will eat frozen Sigoirno, but very rarely.

I could probably live on pizza if I would allow myself. :rotfl: It is easier to name the pizza I don't like. I am just as happy with cheese pizza as anything for the most part. Sometimes I do like supreme with the onions picked off. Pepperoni is fine, and call me crazy but sometimes I really do like the ham & pineapple pizza. I don't dislike chains, but unique places are better a lot of times. I find the whole experience of going to Mother Bears (in Bloomington) to be great.

What a great idea. I may follow your lead.

Pizza...ahhhh….love it. Will never, ever put an anchovy on a pizza but do like sausage, pepper and onion combo on a pie or a meatball pie or even just a plain cheese pie. I do not like the chains but we order from a few different local places by us. I prefer a thinner crust and more overdone than underdone.

Sometimes for a lighter dinner I will make Salad Pizza at home. I take a Boboli Crust and pop it in the oven to crisp up. Then I take it out and drizzle Italian dressing on it. Then add whatever salad stuff I have on hand....chopped lettuce, tomato, black olives, red onion, grilled chicken (if I have it) and top it with shredded mozzarella cheese. Pop it back in the oven for about 3 minutes or until the cheese just melts. Serve it with more Italian dressing. Believe it or not our kids loved it growing up. Something about the dressing soaking into the crispy crust was just delicious. Its messy as the toppings all start to fall off then you try to cut it but it is yummy.

None are all that great where we currently live. But my fave is margherita pizza. We had a great place called Squisitos at my last house that made it THE best. And where my girls go to college they have great pizza in a town nearby called Old Forge. Love the Arcaro and Genelle place and like red cuts with sweet peppers and meatballs.

Topping I hate on my pizza is pineapple. Hate hot pineapple.
