It is the last Sunday of Advent! Wow, Christmas is in just 5 days.

Many hugs, TazDev, I am so sorry for all you are going through. Prayers you know God is with you and all of us care, too!

Lynxstch, I truly pray also Tina is okay and will one day check back in this thread. I honestly don't remember much about her last post, may have to go back and find it. I do also recall her starting a new job. I am pretty sure her husband was doing likewise. I know they had extended family who sometimes needed their assistance. I am so grateful to her for starting this thread, God for binding us all together, and each of you for your daily care and check in.

:grouphug:

I did another grocery order and pick up. This is addictive. Still want to go in person to pick up a few more things that I want to pick. Certainly anyone can gather the canned goods, etc, that I want.

Checked the tracking on my one missing package. It started moving again on the 18th and has now arrived in our local post office. Looks like it should be delivered tomorrow. There is hope.

Yesterday was a day of news and most was not good.

Ugh, it sounds like it was a rough day...sorry it got piled on you all at once...but very happy your grandson & his family were ok. Regarding further down in your post, I also believe in Karma, it can be a helpful thought when dealing with folks that are the worst.

So we hiked up to Costco today - Cabelas is next door and of course I forgot the return I needed to make! So you know what that means, I've got to take a return up there sometime in the week or two after Christmas. Talk about punishment!! Costco had a fair bit of seafood, but not exactly all that we needed - same with the Costco liquor store. Would you believe no champagne???? So after that and a quick pit stop at Dicks, then Marshals we hit the Acme on the way home for the rest of the needed seafood except for the clams, those I'll get Wednesday. I'll stop for champagne somewhere between now & then I suppose. It was fairly crowded, but not totally undoable. And lets face it - I was going to a shopping center on the last Sunday prior to Christmas so I knew what I was in for! Still - not nearly half as bad as it would have been in a 'normal' year.

It is a cold & damp afternoon here. Dogs have a fire going and now that we are home I'm doing a bit of putzing on the computer whilst husband is relaxing with a bit of football. I think we will end up our afternoon doing nothing, and I'm all for it. Dinner this evening will be either leftover pizza from last night, or grilled pork chops over salad. Pork tomorrow if we blow it off tonight.

It's 2:45 EST here now, so I'm just playing the pajamas pants time? or no - to early? game:drinking:I'll try to holdoff till 4:30 or 5.

I've been trying to loosen up! I'm just to uptight!!!!
But, they are calling, and so are the big oversized fluffy socks:P

Go for it..we just got home from Weis and his eye drs appt (Mr "I don't need anything but reading glasses" )needs progressive lens glasses, lol! They will be here in 2 weeks. Glad we still have vision insurance for 2 more weeks..the $800 bill only cost us $174. And she managed to sneak me in for an appt this coming Tuesday,,she said you may as well while it's only going to cost you $10 for $194 eye exam!
I am about to go get changed,,into pjs..and I don't care if it's only 3:00!

I did an early bird Walmart curbside pickup and then a quick sweep through Sprouts for fruits and meat. Home early. After I got it all inside and DH put it all away and made breakfast, I got the bright idea to go out and pick up yesterday‘s mail. The street was wet, I had DH ‘s flip flops on, and well, you probably wont be surprised that I slipped on a small stick and did a face plant. Both palms are scraped, and my bad knee must have taken what my palms didn’t. Nothing broken but I picked myself up, cleaned up my palms and applied antibiotic cream and large bandages. My knee has a pain patch on it and I am in bed feeling sorry for myself. Could have been worse. Luckily I have nothing scheduled this week except visiting mom for the allowed 30 minutes at her senior community. No guests here, just DH and I. Trying to talk myself into putting ice on the knee.

I'm sorry Snappy :( Take care! Prayers for you feeling better very soon.

Lol, to the PJ talk as I wear them all day. I indeed have daytime and bedtime PJ's. I love my bedtime PJ's. Trying find some day time bottoms that work better than the big, short capris I have on now. I've been scouting Amazon since I have a free prime trial until 12-26. It's so hard to tell online! I just want simple PJ's that do not have a thick elastic-y waist or are lower rise. Basics (or to me) lol. I did get one pair of knit pants that aren't bad but I'm concerned may become lower rise pretty quickly. I just want PJ comfortable!

It is so lovely to feel warm right now! My phone said 81! The apartment at the moment is even just right, such a Blessing extra :)

Hope all of you are PJ-ed and cozy right now for the evening.

 All-around

I am so cold. It may be pj time here soon too.

Watched the Ravens win then drove down to Chesapeake City to see their light display. Very different than the one last night but just as enjoyable. No crowds at all.

I researched the Christmas Star and discovered that it was visible several nights. We saw it tonight. Pretty cool.

Carry out sandwiches and fries for dinner. Was going to watch Sound of Music, which I've seen a zillion times but changed to Cross County Christmas on Hallmark.

@snappy , hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the reminder lynsxtch! I just hope that I remember.

What a day you had tazdev3225! I believe in karma, the housekeeper and husband will get their just rewards one day.

Another laid back day for me again. Ventured out to Half Price Books and Kohls, then home. I spend so much money on books. I need to get my library card renewed. Haven't been to the library in years.

Today was another beautiful day, highs in the 50's, normal temps for this time of year.

Speaking of pajamas, guess I'll go change into mine.

I'm glad you got to go to Half Price Books, Kirby! I have not been to one of their stores since the 90's when my Grandma lived in Houston. I'm also going to try to catch the Christmas star tomorrow or at least have Dad tell me about it.

I'm happily warm and PJ-ed now :) I did order a pair on Amazon that are coming Tuesday.

I watched a real sweet surprise of Hearts of Christmas. It's about a NICU unit (I promise there are no truly sad moments) and how they became a family of caregivers to their patients and one another especially the head nurse, a lady named Alice. I know some of you are in healthcare. Extra thanks to you for all the love and compassion you spread!

Sweet Dreams, Everyone.

Good morning everyone- Reminder..Christmas star should be visible tonite after sunset. (was too cloudy here last nite to see it). I set an alarm on my phone to remind me to go look after dinner.
Hubby says today is cookie making day, uh..ok, but I wasn't planning on making any? lol! He can make his beloved sugar cookies, and I may or may not make English Teacakes, just not in the mood for baking. I don't need to eat the extra calories anyhow-lol
No chores on my to do list. I am still stalking the USPS tracking site, but still no sign of missing/late pkgs. I am highly doubting they will make it here, or to FL by Thursday at this point :(
Have a great day everyone!079aa0f994f38e902de4d4a64f088c1a.jpg

Morning my fellow early risers on the East coast. We have had snow on the ground for the past 5 days, not sure if it will last till Christmas. I did take the long back country roads between my doctors apt and the fruit market on Friday. It was beautiful to see the snow hanging on the tree branches.
Peace and prayers

Afternoon all

Spent a quiet day yesterday watching TV on the computer while my husband watched football. I rooted against the Eagles as I think that team needs a shakeup from the owner down to the team. I am a Carson Wentz fan and not happy with the way he has been treated this year. Actually told my husband I will root for the Cowboys on Sunday. That is a sacrilege in this family but it the extent of my unhappiness.

My ear infections cleared up but now I have the usual secondary issue, my ear is totally blocked and I feel like my head is underwater when I talk. Not a pleasant feeling. My doctor is not allowed to see patients in his office so I need to see the ENT. Thankfully they could get me in today. The odd thing is I never had ear infections as a child, this started in my 50's. Weird?

We are still waiting on my husbands meds. I called our plan coordinator because I am so frustrated. The mail order sent another prescription over the weekend, the same way. Two more are set to be shipped today and one we really need ASAP. It's the needles for his insulin. If I don't get them the coordinator will override the mail order and let me get it at the pharmacy if he runs out before they get here. I told them I could drive to the distribution center in 20 minutes, I can drive to Jersey City in 2 hours and yes the meds were sent to Jersey City and we are in Philly. This is ridiculous. Not being able to hear out of my one ear is not helping my attitude.

Oh well I am off to clear what is left of the snow off of my car and head to the doctor so I can hear again.

Have a great day all

Good luck with the ear issue, TazDev. I had a bit of trouble with that underwater trouble last year. No pain but very aggravating trying to open my jaw wide and somehow clear it. It was worse on one side. My internist was unavailable so I saw one of her partners. He found ear wax. Was able to clear from the worse side, unsuccessful with the other. It was such a relief. The other side worked itself on its own. I really thought I had a middle ear infection.

Thanks to you all for all the sympathy about my mishap falling yesterday. I had a bit of trouble sleeping but right knee and right wrist are better. I must really lead with my right side is all I can think. My palms still have a few scrapes to heal. Apparently black top can do a real skin defoliation.

Y’all be careful in that snow up there. It sounds so beautiful, I have to admit I am jealous.
