Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

That stinks Carol - I hope you guys can reschedule, sooner rather than later. We've been starting to discuss holidays and what is going on and what ISN'T.

Busy weekend ahead of us, mostly tomorrow. I always forget how busy this time of year can get until I'm in the thick of it.

BLT's for supper, glass of wine and chilling out now. Dogs are watching Fellowship of the Rings, I'm feeling a Hobbit/LOTR marathon going on tomorrow & Sunday evening :rolleyes1 we've seen them so many times, but they seem to make great background TV when we are cleaning without me having to pay attention!

@Bianca and Bernard , oh my. Not something I would do but enjoy.

Inspired a QOTD - Do you have any tattoos?

I do not and can't imagine I ever will.

Thanks for your concern, my friends. Feeling better already. DD and family will come Sunday anyway. Planned a new menu so need to make a quick grocery run tomorrow.

And, we saw the Antaras/Cygnus spacecraft fly by. Took off from Wallops Island, VA and was visible here 90 seconds later. Saw the fire from the rocket and the burn out. Never saw anything like this before. So cool.

@flyingdumbo127 the heat is really getting annoying. It was "only" 93 but it was 62 when I got up this morning so I know cool fall weather is coming.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I have been working on my 'before Winter to do list', and I have been so tired by the time I'm done, that I almost fell asleep just trying to catch up on reaeding the threads. It only got to 62 here today, will be down to 41 tonite. I did manage to get laundry done today, and dinner was leftovers. We had rib eye steaks last nite for my birthday and they were soooo good (we don't eat steak often, lol). I cooked them on the grill and they were a perfect medium rare (more on the rarer side for mine!). We each have 1/2 of one for leftovers. Tomorrow is grocery and errand day, and then I plan on doing nothing the rest of the weekend. I hope everyone had a nice week, and that you all have a great weekend.

@flyingdumbo127 --I don't like 62 for a high, but I really don't envy you the 97 degrees either! Heating company called this morning, and they ordered the furnace, but are having an issue getting the central ac unit. They asked if we would mind if it was a different brand than the furnace..they are getting us a better brand and model for the same price,,and they pretty much look alike. All I know is I want it all installed before it gets too cold. Apparently they have to construct a concrete pad for the ac unit outside, and they have to have kind of warm weather to do it. I don't want to have to wait till Spring to get it installed! Happy Friday evening everyone!
Happy Belated Birthday @lynxstch
We had our HVAC system replaced in March after the heater went out in Feb. It took them forever to schedule the install and we were FREEZING waiting for it....I think the coldest it got in the house was 53°...Brr. So hope you can get an install date sooner than later.
So...I went and did it.

It reallyhurt where the tops of the horns are.

But..
maybe next year when DD#2 comes to visit, I might agree to get it colorwashed, and add 3 'fireworks' in the fairy colors..
OMG.... 😍 I love that tattoo!!

I'm so happy you were able to still get together with some of your family this weekend.

As for the QOTD....I do not have any tattoos and I don't think i would get one because I'm too chicken and scared it would hurt to much. I love getting henna though and I bought myself a temp tattoo kit to try some henna type stuff on myself. Hubby had lots, I've lost count...lol DD is waiting to get her first but of course Covid messed it up got her. I don't know how she'll handle it since she's more of a pain wimp than I am.

So glad you could reschedule for Sunday, Carol and that you're feeling better, too.

B&B, tattoos are in no way for me at all. I truly hope you are pleased with and enjoy yours :)

Hug, AuntieMe3, indeed this heat is old! I am very grateful overnight it cools down some. Still in the 80's here now.

Tattoo?

yes, unfortunately I have one. Got about15-20 years ago. It is in a inconspicuous spot but I regret ever getting it. It’s pretty, looks fine- just not me. Thank goodness it’s not someplace it can be seen...got two quotes to have it removed, both came in at about $3K.
One of two sons has a few on one arm, says he’s doing a sleeve eventually, I keep my mouth shut since it’s not the hill I want to die on, but I find it ...well let’s just say it’s not my thing!
Every young lady of my Acquaintance who starts talking about getting one I say “let me show you my tacky $3K mistake”🤣

yawn- time to get moving. It’s almost 615 AM and I’ve got a crew of guys showing up at 7.

have a good day everyone!

Been awol....sorry. Busy. How can a person be so busy when they only stay home.
We (me, DD, DGD) are leaving for a trip tomorrow! It has been so long.
Unfortunately the first stop is expecting 98 degrees and it is a zoo like place, so all outdoors. We'll see how we do. We do get to feed tigers, DGD is so excited! It will be cooler at the Grand Canyon.

I have not caught up, but will try to. Family for dinner tonight, a car to load, laundry to do, cleaning to do. DH is staying home and kitty sitting DD's cat.

Tattoos. I have 3. All on ankles. 2 are together. Mickey black head with DGS's name and birth date around it, Minnie black head with red bow with DGD's name and birth date around it.
My first was Merryweather with DS and DD's names coming out of the pixie dust from the wand.
They hurt but not too bad. The last one will be my last, so no more grand babies will get added. My skin is too old and takes too long to heal now.

@Meriweather While I l do not like (nor have) any tattoo's, I love your Fairy Godmother one with your grandchildrens names..so cute! I wish you a safe and happy trip. To answer your question..how busy can 1 person be when you just stay home? The answer is VERY. Since I have to do everything myself (hubby has heart condition), my to do list is never ending. It's been cleaning all week, yardwork all week, getting stuff ready for winter..this morning was grocery shopping and errands..and tomorrow is a day OFF..and boy am I looking forward to it. We have sun, but it's only 60 degrees out. I just finished washing the car. Just have to strip and remake the bed later on and all my chores are done. Dinner is going to be Subway. When all this started, I said I wasn't going back there till they had coupons again, and lo and behold, there were Subway coupons in sales circulars we got in the mail Wednesday, lol. They must have heard me, lol!
I wish everyone a lovely Saturday afternoon and evening, and I hope all of you experiencing such hot weather, get a break from it soon!

Well, we made it through distance learning on Friday with a minimum of argument. Josh told his teacher and classmates about our state project and that we had just done Michigan, so I ended up reading a fact about Detroit at his teacher's request (she asked Josh but he "couldn't remember," of course). He also made the connection between their drawing pictures to tell a story for writing class, and that when we go on trips, Mommy takes a lot of photos and makes a Shutterfly book, which tells the story of our trip. He showed off our last book, from our Legoland trip, and the teacher enjoyed the comparison.

This morning we had a soccer game and then we stopped by the farmer's market/vendor fair on the town green. Our library had a table and the 2 children's librarians were there. We got a t-shirt and a book (Harold and the Purple Crayon) for free. While walking around a little more, we stopped at the booth for the town after-school program and Josh got to spin the wheel; his prize was to pick something out of a box. There were some really cool things in there - little bagged Lego sets, flash cards, etc...he chose a ball. A plastic ball. Which probably costs less than 5 cents and will split in half the very second he hits it with a whiffle bat. Oh well, that's what he wanted. And then a booth for the congregational church was giving kids their choice of a little gift...rubber duck, erasers...he found a small lightsaber, which actually lights up. He's happy with that.

Tomorrow is the (Southwick) Zoo day! We are looking forward to it (except the long drive early in the morning). It will be good to see our friends!

I have 3 small ones, all in the ankle-area (kind of where Meriweather has hers), and all just black. On my right leg is an Egyptian Eye of Horus. That was my first one, when I was 26. It took me 11 years to choose it ;)

On the left are my Duran Duran tattoos. The first one is the symbol from the New Moon on Monday video:

And a little above it is a tribal-ish sun, to symbolize their song (Reach Up For the) Sunrise, their first single with all 5 original band members reunited around 2001-2002.

I want to get a few more. For years now, I've wanted to get the word "Nevermore" in Edgar Allan Poe's handwriting on my right shoulder. I also want to put the words "Hope" and "Believe" somewhere. I thought about perhaps having them done in the tails of the pink and blue Infertility Awareness ribbon, and maybe including that as part of a commemorative tattoo that I want done. I'd like something about Josh, maybe with his name and birthdate on it, and to somehow incorporate 3 angel wings for his siblings. Or some type of symbol if the angel wings are too overplayed. I would love to also include some kind of symbol for the 5 embryos that we'd transferred but didn't result in pregnancy, and the 15 embryos that we still have frozen in storage (I'd probably use snowflakes for those, as that's what they're referred to in our circle), but I want this done over my heart and it would just be way too big. Wonder if there's such a thing as a 15-pointed snowflake...

That is awesome that you and your family are going to all those places, Meriweather! I look forward to seeing some pictures :) Prayers for safe travels and have a fabulous time! :)

Hug, Lynxstch and prayers to both you and your husband. I'm glad you get to enjoy a Subway treat :)

Apirateslifeforme, that is awesome Josh shared his Legoland memory book with his class. What a fun day today! Your town really does sound super kid friendly with activity choices. Have fun with your friends at the zoo tomorrow, as well! :)

I wanted to more, but old skin doesn't cooperate. I wanted one to represent my mother, but it never happened.
I just got a Nevermore shirt from Tee Turtle. Has a raven on it ;)

All snowflakes are different, so why not a one with 15 points....or 15 somethings
