You sure do, dear Lynn! Extra hug.
Mona-believe it or not, 2 different salesmen told me that appliances aren't made to last more than 5 years, that I was 'lucky' that it lasted 7. So I suppose that means that the dryer will be the next to go, since it was bought at the same exact time. When you have to spend hundreds of dollars on an appliance, you expect it to last longer than that!
Aww, that’s so sad, Snowysmom! Here we have just rain, thankfully. Good news is that it will be gone, hopefully, soon, as the week warms up. It’s too late in the season for this, time for spring! Here is a picture of the snow outside my deck area. It just stopped but we have 1-2 inches of snow and the road is covered. I will need to shovel the driveway and walkway as I am sure the snow removal people will not come in for this snow.
I would have done as you did with the mattress. You took pictures, which should have been enough proof for them. What would sending out an inspector do, they would look at it and take pictures, the same as you did. I don't complain unless I have a good reason, but when I know I'm in the right, I don't give up until I get what I feel is the right compensation. If I were you, and you aren't happy with the resolution they gave you, take it up to the next step, perhaps corporate of whatever company(s) you're dealing with. I know you aren't feeling well right now, and I'm sorry this happened to you.Aww, that’s so sad, Snowysmom! Here we have just rain, thankfully. I just had a quick story that Lynn will appreciate. When DH got home yesterday, after I’d washed all the bedding (including pillows run over to the big machines in the laundromat), we went to make the bed and discovered as we were adjusting the bed slats that the brand new king size mattress delivered in the morning had a hole in the bottom of it!!I’m not sure how that happened as it was wrapped in plastic when they brought it upstairs to the bed. So I took a picture of it along with the info on the mattress (to show it’s the same one) and called the company. They said they could replace it but I said I didn’t want to replace it, it’s ok functionally, but my brand new mattress that I paid full price for (on sale) shouldn’t have a hole in it, and I’d prefer it to be discounted since it’s all made and I do not have the energy to go through all that again. (I’d covered up the new floors so the delivery guys didn’t wreck them w their boots and such as it’s muddy outside. I still had to clean up a mess and there is a catch in one of my brand new runners.) Anyway, she said that was fine but they’d need to send an “inspector” out to see it, and can we schedule that next week? I said no, I actually have chemotherapy next week and don’t want to deal with waiting a whole day for someone to show up here when I should be resting (we’ve had so many of those lately, and still have the applicance person coming the day after my chemo) and don’t want to mess up the bed as it’s made nicely now, etc. But basically that was the only way they’d consider compensation. I told her I had pictures and that should suffice, and that the delivery people never mentioned anything to me (they had to have seen it). I’d tipped them very generously too. Was pretty pissed by the time I got off the phone. So nada. Going to write to corporate.
The other thing I’d mentioned was that we were supposed to get compensated for the white glove delivery service that we never got for the sectional. The floor guys were still working when they got here so we had to have them leave it out front and when the floor guys were done, we brought it in and set it up ourselves. And it was a lot! I got a cut on my hand that still hasn’t healed right. We spent a couple of hours on it. So same company as above says they can only compensate us $50 because there were four pieces to the sofa and each one cost $75 to deliver or something silly like that. I told her that was the first time I’d heard that and that we’d spent a lot of time w the salesperson discussing delivery options. My understanding that there was one delivery fee of $75 vs the White Glove which was $300+. So much discussion back and forth with their supervisor (while making dinner) and the most they would give me back was $150. I took it but will also mention that to corporate when I write. The delivery drivers themselves said we should get compensation for not getting what we paid for. Ugh. Happy with the merchandise generally but have a feeling this is not an honest company now. Lynn you seemed to have better luck at Lowe’s!
Have a good Saturday, guys, have to run out!![]()
