Hello all.
Hope everyone is enjoying spring & Mother Nature's bloom (and pollen!!) Things are waking up and growing all over the place here. I've had my first week of fresh flowers (one of my DIL's grows cut flowers for bouquets on our farm and she keeps me supplied most of the year!!) last week. I sheared off a pin on my bush hog so I'm waiting for that to get fixed before I finish that chore for the season. Getting ready to start w/ regular rotation of mowing - rinse & repeat till Novemberish.
Husband sold his boat and got another one, hoping to get the sea trial scheduled this week.
Just made lunch reservations for Saturday for a family 'easter' lunch - half of us celebrate Easter, half of us don't so this is the extent of our weekend festivities. Wouldn't be doing anything except my in-laws will be in town.
Also finally pulled the trigger on a trip to Scotland this late September. Going to do a week at a VRBO between Ft. Augustus & William and then going to stay at the Balmoral in Edinburgh for 4 nights. We will see if our marriage survives renting a car and navigating over there ha ha! My parents lived for over 10 years in a place that had skinny roads that had to be driven on the left but we are rather out of practice! Oh well, we will figure it out. What's life without a bit of adventure, right?!?! We are really looking forward to the trip.
Work is keeping us busy, as is life. Grandbaby #1 due mid-July. We just got finished painting our kitchen & living room, and finally got new furniture. Need to do a fair bit more painting but taking a break for now. Also need to seal the porch & power wash the house. Fingers crossed for some nice weekends over the next few weeks to facilitate all this outside work.
Pea & Bobbi - continued well wishes for a peaceful recovery & treatment period for you both. Reading your posts reminds me how strong the human body is how strong the human spirit can be! And Dumbo good luck continuing with your PT. You'll be out walking 5K's in no time! A friend of mine broke his ankle and while he wasn't a very athletic person to begin with that was a goal he worked towards, just being able to walk 45 minutes. It helped him get back on his feet having that type of goal.
Lynn - that washer story hits home! Ours is on it's last legs as well, but keeps limping along. You are right, it does seem as if these appliances don't last like they used to. We've replaced a built in microwave & dishwasher, as well as a heating element in one of the ovens so far. Been in house not quite 11 years. Ice maker on Fridge broke a while ago (luckily we have a under the counter ice maker in the bar downstairs, so we let the fridge limp along as well). One of these days I'm going to have to replace the fridge & washer, but I'm hanging on till the bitter end!
Happy Passover & Easter to those that celebrate. I don't , but I did just indulge in a Reeces peanut butter egg
mmm mm those hit the spot!
