Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Hello all.
Hope everyone is enjoying spring & Mother Nature's bloom (and pollen!!) Things are waking up and growing all over the place here. I've had my first week of fresh flowers (one of my DIL's grows cut flowers for bouquets on our farm and she keeps me supplied most of the year!!) last week. I sheared off a pin on my bush hog so I'm waiting for that to get fixed before I finish that chore for the season. Getting ready to start w/ regular rotation of mowing - rinse & repeat till Novemberish.
Husband sold his boat and got another one, hoping to get the sea trial scheduled this week.
Just made lunch reservations for Saturday for a family 'easter' lunch - half of us celebrate Easter, half of us don't so this is the extent of our weekend festivities. Wouldn't be doing anything except my in-laws will be in town.
Also finally pulled the trigger on a trip to Scotland this late September. Going to do a week at a VRBO between Ft. Augustus & William and then going to stay at the Balmoral in Edinburgh for 4 nights. We will see if our marriage survives renting a car and navigating over there ha ha! My parents lived for over 10 years in a place that had skinny roads that had to be driven on the left but we are rather out of practice! Oh well, we will figure it out. What's life without a bit of adventure, right?!?! We are really looking forward to the trip.
Work is keeping us busy, as is life. Grandbaby #1 due mid-July. We just got finished painting our kitchen & living room, and finally got new furniture. Need to do a fair bit more painting but taking a break for now. Also need to seal the porch & power wash the house. Fingers crossed for some nice weekends over the next few weeks to facilitate all this outside work.

Pea & Bobbi - continued well wishes for a peaceful recovery & treatment period for you both. Reading your posts reminds me how strong the human body is how strong the human spirit can be! And Dumbo good luck continuing with your PT. You'll be out walking 5K's in no time! A friend of mine broke his ankle and while he wasn't a very athletic person to begin with that was a goal he worked towards, just being able to walk 45 minutes. It helped him get back on his feet having that type of goal.

Lynn - that washer story hits home! Ours is on it's last legs as well, but keeps limping along. You are right, it does seem as if these appliances don't last like they used to. We've replaced a built in microwave & dishwasher, as well as a heating element in one of the ovens so far. Been in house not quite 11 years. Ice maker on Fridge broke a while ago (luckily we have a under the counter ice maker in the bar downstairs, so we let the fridge limp along as well). One of these days I'm going to have to replace the fridge & washer, but I'm hanging on till the bitter end!

Happy Passover & Easter to those that celebrate. I don't , but I did just indulge in a Reeces peanut butter egg:tongue: mmm mm those hit the spot!

Big hug and so good to hear from you dear Easyas. I'm so happy Spring is blooming some extra positives for you, my friend to come especially a new grandchild and out of country adventure. Thank you always for your kind encouragement.

My first pt session went well. I usually have also had my second session by now but haven't yet. God willing, bigger recovery steps to come this week indeed. I'm excited.

Dad, God willing, should be here within half an hour or so. As always it will be wonderful to see him :) I saw my friend A out in the hallway earlier. I think Wednesday is her last day here. When I go do my afternoon exercise by moving the wheelchair along with my feet (to strengthen them and my legs) I will look for her. I do have something to give her. Not much new otherwise.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Slipping thread save. Dad left about 40 minutes ago :/ We agreed that we are one day closer to my coming home. I did have pt this afternoon and briefly went around the hallway with dad. I did see A who told me tomorrow is her last day. I never did get to give her what I have for her so I shall try again tomorrow. I will miss her but am truly relieved and happy for her that her new job is at a much better place. Next time I see her, other than tomorrow, God willing I will be home! Meantime, I usually see her dear mom L closer to the weekend.

I felt so badly for A, my roommate earlier. Two nurses had come to look at and treat her feet. A didn't understand due to a language difference. She did know they were hurting her and seemed to be steamrolling to be finished without listening to her. I was very grateful when they left and she seemed to rest afterwards. Kindness needs to be 24/7+ here!

My 3pm to 11pm nurse is someone I don't often have anymore. She was sweet and said she will pray for me to get home by my birthday and be well, that was very nice.

Thinking extra right now of four of our friends who haven't posted in a while AuntieMe3, Carol, Footballmouse, and Kirby. Prayers each of you kind ladies are doing well.

Wishing all of dear you a good evening.

Flyingdumbo You are one day closer to getting home. That is a good attitude to have. You are making good progress.

Good morning. Yesterday was a lovely day with the sun out and temps in the 60s. The lake was a quiet place to walk and meditate a bit. Today it is supposed to rain a little bit with temps again in the 60s. I am getting my shopping list together so I can get my food shopping done tomorrow before it gets really crazy at Market Basket.

Have a good day.

Good morning. It was gorgeous out yesterday, we got to 82 degrees, with a very slight breeze. It was nice to look outside and not have to do any yard work. I have to find a spot to plant the new gardenia I got, I bought one last year that I thought died over the winter, in fact Home Depot replaced it under their 1 year warranty, but I left it where it was and it has the slightest few leaves showing green, so we'll see how it fares. I put up 2 new bird feeders, and put the fountains back in the bird baths. I had taken them out when we got down below freezing last week.

My vent this morning--Summer called me last night to tell me that she's leaving this morning to do her inspection job. They're all hours away, so she's going to stay in a hotel tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday nights. She has to pick up her husband on Friday, 2 hours away from her last inspection, so they're going to stay in a hotel and drive back Saturday. At the end of our conversation I asked if she got the oil changed in the truck, she said she can't drive it until she gets new brakes on the back. That they're metal to metal. The same truck I paid to have repairs done on twice lately. I didn't say this to her, though I should have-if she all of a sudden has money for a hotel, gas, and food for 4 days, she's going to have to find money to fix the truck, I'm not paying for it this time. I've reached my limit. It just annoys me that for the most part I don't hear from her unless she needs something.

I'm heading for the mall to get a haircut, a manicure, and get some groceries before the stores start getting busy tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone

Thank you dear Snowysmom. Prayers your shopping tomorrow goes smoothly and quickly. I hope you were able to take a walk today. I would love to join you on one. In general of course and your strolls sound so peaceful which you know I pray they are.

Dear Lynn, I'm sorry my friend. Prayers for Summer including that she appreciate you for you! We all do. I have been in the situation of being the person someone ran to when they needed help. It was a different story whenever I did. Not pleasant at all. Just care!

Good morning dear Quacker family. I am so deeply blessed to have had a ton better night sleep. I was exhausted yesterday from being up most of the wee hours of Monday due to my roommate A and responding nurses. I keep A and this situation in prayer. I may talk with a charge nurse or two later about this.

It's a blessed new day. In two hours or so I should see Susan for my first morning therapy session. I am so raring to go forward toward home! Dad, of course, will be wonderful to see and spend time with later. I hope to run into my friend A, too.

Tuesday joy to all. I will check back in later.

Sweet dreams slipping thread save. I did get to give A what I had for her and her mom. God willing we will next see each other out of here. I should see her mom L closer to the weekend. I truly am blessed to call them both friend.

Dad told me I received some happy mail today. God willing next month when I'm home it will be a joy to start sharing faith and cheer by mail again including with my Quacker family. I will remind all of dear you then.

Sweet dreams dear friends always with love.

PollyannaMom Hope you are safely in Florida and that your Dad is doing better.

Good Morning. It is 38 now with temps only going into the 40s today. At least it will be sunny but windy this afternoon. I plan to go to Market Basket after work. I hope it will not be too crowded yet. I always talk with my NH friend on Wednesday afternoons.

Have a good day.

Good morning. Half the sky is bright sunshine with white clouds, the other half is gray and menacing. The winds were terrible yesterday, and some are still hanging around today. Supposed to be 55 today, but by Friday and the weekend, we'll be mid 80's again.

I did Aldi's first yesterday, there were 2 cars in the parking lot, lol. Walmart was pretty empty when I got there, but crowded when I left. I did groceries before my haircut and manicure. I was home by noontime. I was still a little early for my hair appt, so I walked the mall, it's a pitiful excuse for a mall. We need more stores.

There's nothing on my to do list for today, yet, lol

Have a good day!

Good morning. Dad prayers extra dear PollyannaMom and Taz. Feel better to each of dear you prayers Bobbi and Pea. Extra morning hug to all.

I'm so grateful to God to have gotten over four hours of straight sleep. I did call the front desk on A's behalf. Overnight response time to her is not always the quickest or kindest :/

It's a blessed new day that is also God willing one day closer to my going home. I am sure going to be giving 110%+ to that effort! Dad God willing will join me at our usual time for lunch. Have a good Winds-Day dear friends. Have some "Hunny," or another favorite treat. I will check back in later.

Thinking of you dear PollyannaMom. Dad prayers that you had a reassuring visit and that he is on the mend. Please take care of yourself and do your best to get some good sleep tonight.

I am working extra hard in pt and am so blessed by God to have come this far. Dad, is of course, so very thankful, too. Susan and I agreed this morning that by the end of next week we should have a better idea of where I am. Focusing on stamina, leg strengthening, and most important of all balance and proper use of my legs with keeping upright and momentum forward. Step by step by His love indeed.

Have a good evening everyone.

Hello friends,
Best heartfelt wishes for all of you, especially those going through rough spots.
I had my cataract surgeries on both eyes. They are healing and I’ve had some weird “fluttering” but I have been told that it can happen. The headaches come and go, mostly because I don’t have the correct eyewear. I’m sure it will get better soon.
I do have some encouraging news( sounds like we all could use some)
DD had her 20 week anatomy scan and the pregnancy is normal so far. The membranes have fused ( that was the problem last time). They saw a Maternal Fetal medical specialist who spent about 2 hours going over all her records and the babies autopsy and he feels there is no indication that she would have the same outcome again. So we are very optimistic, even though the worry is hard to overcome.
Blessed wishes for a lovely Easter for those who celebrate.

Praise, praise and thank You extra God! What a great update dear PollyannaMom. Recharge tonight with some comforting rest I pray.

Dear Bobbi, sunshine can be healing indeed as is rooting for your favorite team. We are all sure cheering for you! I'm so grateful to hear you are doing better. Thank you always for your kind prayers for me. I am truly graced by God that He connected and has kept our Quacker family together and going strong. God willing, when we all are in good health, what fun we will have at our Disneyland meet. I can't wait :)

Dear Dazed, prayers all-around. Dad had cataract surgery several years ago. He didn't have an easy time of it but thank God his vision has been great ever since. May you have the same positive end result. You know how sorry I am you are in any distress now :/ Just extra loving prayers for your daughter and her growing baby. You will be one special grandma :)

Sweet and healthy spring dreams with love to all.
