Quality of Kohl's jeans

Every pair (10+ since that's all I bought for a few years) of our Kohl's Sonoma brand jeans have fallen apart before our eyes.

My girls are not rough on their clothing. The Kohl's jeans have rips in each knee, back pockets tearing away from jean, threads hanging, and seams coming apart.

I have a high efficiency washer.

We have Target brand and other jeans that show little wear and certainly no tearing.

Wondering what others are experiencing with Kohl's quality?

I found that Khol's jeans tend to fall apart very quickly. I'm rather hard on my clothing, but I had one pair of Knol's jeans that in Chemistry Class, I accidentally got like 2 drops of nitric acid on my jeans. Now, I've had hydrocloric acid spilled on another pair of my jeans from AE (which is where all my jeans are from now) and nothing other than the HCL bleaching my jeans happened. The nitric acid (which is wayyy weaker than HCL) destroyed those jeans, they got huge holes in them where the drops were, instead of just turing the pair yellow.

I gave up and ended up not buying jeans at Khols anymore.

Never tried Kohl's but we tend to buy DD8's jeans at Old Navy. They fit well and last a while. She inevitably winds up with holes in the knees of her jeans regardless of where they're from but at least the Old Navy jeans lasted a year of wear. Plus she outgrew them. And I refuse to pay more than $15 a pair...actually I try to stay around $10 a pair because that is all DD wears.

Maybe this is a little off topic, but I've noticed that the quality at lots of stores has gone waaay down this year. The last few years I've bought DD's jeans at Target. I got the store brand (Cirrco?) and was very pleased with them. This year, the denim was so thin it didn't even feel like denim. DD doesn't get to wear jeans often (our school system requires uniforms) but I doubt the Target jeans would have lasted long, even just wearing them on the weekends. I've gotten her a couple pairs from Children's Place and hope those hold up.

As for the quality at Kohl's, I was looking at clothes there for DD just this past weekend and honestly the stuff at Target looked nicer. I do buy things for myself at Kohl's and, for the most part, it holds up well. But I'm very selective. I think the only bad experience I've had so far were some twill pants I bought that grew as I wore them. Honestly, they stretched so much I had to call my DH from work one day and get him to bring me another pair of pants. I tried drying them to shrink them back to size and the only place they shrunk was in the length so now they're too short.:sad2:

My boy's Sonoma jeans have held up just fine.

I have not been thrilled with the jumping beans brand though - they shrink a lot and the seams come undone.

Does sears still have the kidvantage program where if they wear out before they are outgrown you get a free replacement?

If you still have your kohl's receipt, I would be bringing them back!! They are really good on returns..and clothing should hold up for a reasonable amount of time!

Yes they do, BUT you have to keep your receipt which, to me, seems to defeat the purpose. You would think your receipt would be saved and attached to you kidvantage program number (similar to how Target can pull up a purchase by swiping your credit card).

DD8 had a bathing suit I got her last summer. This summer, while it still fit her, it was absolutely all stretched out and almost see-through it was so thin. I've never had that happen to a suit of hers. Well I tried to take it to Sears to get a replacement and the cashier informed me that I needed a receipt.

I thought with Sears you didn't need the receipt IF they were Sears brand, but if they were any other brand you had to have the receipt.

You are reminding me, my older boys need some jeans. I need to hit Sears. Well, first I need to go through their closet and have them try on stuff.....they just LOVE that! :lmao: Then I need to take them shopping, another activity they just LOVE! :lmao:

I'm pretty sure it was a Sears brand bathing suit. Ticked me off quite a bit - unfortunately you can only argue so much. Oh well.
