Quality Inn & Suites: Yay or Nay?

So we are thinking of a quick weekend trip over to DLR, trying to get the most out of our AP's! We've only ever stayed at the Marriott, completely spoiled with a full breakfast buffet and 4 star hotel. For this trip, we want to keep the cost way down, as our second international adoption trip is coming up. :yay: I found Quality Inn & Suites for $37 per night. Is it a total dump? :confused3 The tripadvisor reviews place it kind of right in the middle. It's me, DH and DD3, and we spend most of our day at the parks, only at the hotel for sleeping at night and afternoon naps. Any experience with this hotel would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

(P.S. I know I'll probably get advice to go to Hojo's, but the AP rate is not available for our dates. We spent one night there once, facing the freeway, which wasn't fun. If the AP rate comes available, it would be an option, although still almost double what I'd pay for Quality Inn & Suites.

According to my mother-in-law, it is not a dump but it isn't great. She stayed there sometime within the last year. She described it as just ok and said she probably wouldn't bother to stay there again. Not the greatest review, but please note, she didn't run screaming from the place either. She found the walk a little long, the room a little "off" but clean, and the hotel uninspiring. She will choose Candy Cane, Tropicana, or Fairfield for her next trip even if Quality Inn has a bargain rate, but she would not rank Quality Inn as a hideous experience or a worst hotel kind of experience either.

It has been a few years, but we did not really like it there. The rooms were just okay, breakfast was worse and the parking was HORRIBLE! I would not recommend this hotel.

For the price you are paying the place is okay.

It's next to the freeway, so make sure you ask for a room away from the freeway. The walk is a little longer than the walk from HoJo's, but it's doable. The ART does stop there, so you can always take the ART if you don't want to walk. The pool is small, but decent, and there is no jacuzzi.

You can take your own breakfast type food if you don't want the items they have there, or you can walk to Mimis or Millies - they're pretty close.
