Quality Inn at International Drive?

I find conflicting reports on Trip Advisor--anyone have an opinion on this hotel? There are a couple of Quality Inns--this is the one at 7800 International Drive.

DD and I are taking a 3 day Disney cruise and we will also be in Orlando for 3 nights. Since we will have LUXURY on the cruise, we want to go CHEAP but safe and clean for the hotel. We would also like to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room. I have found 2 hotels that seem to fit this--Quality Inn at International Drive and Comfort Inn at Lake Buena Vista. I can find alot on the CI at LBV but nothing on the QI. I like the QI because of the location--so much within walking distance (we will have rental car, but I hate driving every time you want to get something to eat, etc.) We have stayed at the CI before and there is not really any fast food, etc really close to walk to. BUT--I am a little leary of the QI from some of the reports on Trip Advisor, so any input would be appreciated!

We stayed at the Quality Inn August 2003,when we arrived our room was dirty-hair in the fridge,used tissues behind the bedside cabinet,used tissues+chocolate wrappers under the bed,sheets were stained.I complained immediatley to Virgin(they are based at this hotel)and they sorted it out-it did however take 2 hours but we were moved to a different room-which was perfect.
There is a safe,fridge+microwave in the room-which was great.Room size was quite good-it was just me+hubby.I did feel safe in this hotel,there was security walking around every evening making sure everything was ok.Even cars are monitored coming in by security sitting in a little hut(don't know what you call it!!)
Both pools were very clean,as was the restaurant,although i found the food(breakfast) ok there was much better to be had along I-Drive(and much,much cheaper)as in the likes of Golden Coral,I-Hop etc...As for dinner-well there is so much to choose from(everything is right on your doorstep as soon as you leave the hotel)budget resaturants like the ones i mentioned or you have Bennigans,Chilli's,Tony Roma's etc,,.
I hope i have helped a little and if you have anymore questions-just ask,don't automatically be put off by what i said at the beginning-i gave them a chance to rectify the problem+they did and we were both more than happy to continue our stay there,there are a lot worse out there than the Quality Inn.x.

i have a better hotel for you

clarion inn universal

been there twice...great view...not in the congested area & prices were great(off season)

we have been to the clarion universal and the quality Inn plaza and liked them both.

Clarion is in a great location hotel was nice , no fridge in room or microwave, rooms clean and comfortable, food in the hotel restaurant was rubbish, but snacks coffee,pizza in hotel shop was great.

Quality In Plaza, the one opposite wonderworks, location great, rooms clean but shabby, had fridge, we were opposite kids playground, felt quite safe as they had security more obvious than clarion, food in hotel was much better than clarion but not cheap.

This year we are staying at the Enclave suites in a two bedroomed apartment, which is next to clarion hotel, so hopefully that will be good too.

I have been twice, this is my third time of going. And we are staying tin the Quality inn plaza. For the third time. We have never had any trouble with that hotel. With the kids eat free we found the meals quite reasonable. As for the rooms, we hardly spend much time in there, so as long as we have a bed and a bathroom....what more can u want!( theres a fridge, microwave etc etc)
