QSDP to DDP upgrade question

I currently have us booked on the QSDP and am still tossing around the idea of upgrading to the regular DDP. Can that be done? If so, does anyone know how far in advance we have to upgrade or can it be done check-in? If it can be done at check-in (which I seriously doubt), could we use our $200 Disney gift card for it?

Can not be done at check in. Has to be changed/added at least 72 hours from arrival
