I'm new to the boards, so my apologies if this has been asked a million times. I checked the FAQ but I'm still not sure.

I'm trying to decide if the QSDP is right for us or not. We're going for 6 nights in early december, 4 adults and 1 infant (he will be 2). Our child currently eats a LOT of food, usually about 2/3 of what we eat. (Not fat, just a high metabolism).

If we got the QSDP each of the adults would get 12 meals and 6 snacks, so 48 meals and 24 snacks in all. We plan on doing 2 character meals OOP and we are also staying in one of the villas, so we will be having some quick breakfasts in our room. I think the meals will spread out nicely for us but I'm still not sure if we will eat our money's worth.

My question is, could we use 5 dining credits at a time at the counter service restaurants, thus feeding our 2 year old on the plan? He is not a picky eater. This would also use up some of the credits to make up for the time we go to the sit downs and eat breakfast in our room.

Any thoughts?

They will not allow you to order more than 4 meals at a time. They do not allow you to order more meals than you have people. This is to prevent sharing with people not on the plan.

Oh,. great! Thanks for the info. We probably won't do it then!

I may be wrong about this, but even though the 2 year old isn't paying for the dining plan, he is still allowed to share his parents credits on the dining plan. They are allowed to eat off the parents plates for any meal. So, I would think if they see 5 people (including the 2 year old) then it wouldn't be a problem. He IS part of your group and allowed to eat with you. There is no rule saying you can't feed your 2 year old with your credits. You can divide your credits up anyway you see fit during your stay. No one from outside your party is sharing the credits, so I'm not seeing how it would NOT be ok to do this. He has to eat too and parents should be allowed to get him what he wants. Of course, as I stated before, I may be totally off base with my thinking. If a parent orders TWO CS credits at one time for themselves and shares it with the 2 year old ALSO.... not seeing the problem here.

True. But the KTTW says how many meal allotments you have. So the card will say 4 A ( meaning 4 adults) The cashiers at the Cs places will not allow you to order more meals than you have people. They have NO idea if you are ordering for an extra child or a random person. The random cashier may allow it, but you can not consistently rely on being able to do this. The Op can order the 4 meals and share it with her toddler, but since her toddler is not listed on the DP because they are under 3, they are not entitled to the credits.

Why not just order him a kids meal and pay for him OOP? Maybe you won't have to do this at every meal...you could share your food, use some snack credits, etc. The kids meals aren't really too costly at CS restaurants, so even paying OOP for 2 meals a day, you aren't spending more than what the plan would cost for a 3-9 year old. The only thing you wouldn't get is 2 snack credits a day for him, but the snack credits you WILL have should be enough for everyone!

or just ring through 2 orders. 4 meals and then 1 meal. You can do that.

Not at the same register you can't. The Cm will not let you order more meals than people. She can try to go to another cashier, but it depends on the Cm.

With 4 adults in the party they can very easily send 2ppl to order the meals. ;)

That's exactly what I was going to say. Two of the adults can use their own card to make a separate purchase. Then you can get your 5 meals and feed the little one.
