Sorry, I've got another QSDP question.

Since refillable mugs are included in the plan, lets say you eat breakfast at your resort.

Breakfast is listed as "juice, entree & non-alcoholic beverage OR combo meal & single serving non alcoholic beverage or juice." But since refillable mugs are included in the plan and you are dining at your resort, why do you need another drink included?

Will they let you substitute fruit, pastry, or something else in place of the additional drink?

Thanks in advance.

Suppose you dine at your resort QS location. If you use the Dining Plan can you get a bottled drink (say a coke or juice or water) as part of your Dining Plan meal?

If so then you could fill your mug for free and have another drink for later.

Do any of the food-courts have this option? I am especially interested in POP, which is where I plan to stay.

If you have the regular dining plan, you do not get a refillable mug. You can not substitute with a pastry or fruit. You have to get a drink. The drink can be a bottle of water or juice. Counter Service places do not have soda in a bottle though.

Last time we went, I got a couple of sandwiches for our plane trip home and I was supposed to get a couple of drinks with it. I didn't really need them and there was a lady behind me with a couple of bottles of water, so I used my credits and got her 2 bottles of water.

We have the Quick Service Dining Plan and it comes with refillable mugs. That is why I was wondering about the extra drinks that come with breakfast at the resort.

We just got back from Disney and we did the QSDP... and YES they will let you substitute. We figured this out about day 2 or so. We would get the breakfast and then they would let you get any (2) other things that qualified as a snack.... a bagel, pastry, fruit, etc. It made a HUGE difference in how we could stretch the 2 meals to cover us for the entire day.

We were in All Star Sports and after we learned they would let us substitute, we would get snacks, etc in place of the beverages. No one ever told us that we couldn't do that.

Yes, but the food that you get with the Quick Service Dining Plan is the same as the regular Dining Plan, which is the same as the Deluxe Dining Plan when you order something at a Quick Service location. Disney does not change their entitlements for each of the plans.

Substitution is not a general allowance on the dining plan. Some places may permit you to substitute a snack for a drink and some may not. It will depend entirely on the place you are, and on the CM you are dealing with.

It's entirely possible you may not be allowed to substitute out your drinks. If this happens, get a bottled drink to carry to the parks with you.

Ok not sure but with the breakfast you get your breakfast plus 2 drinks as you dont get a desserts?:confused3

Exactly. No dessert with breakfast, so you get another beverage.

What the brochure actually says is that you can have an entree, juice and a beverage, OR a combo meal plus a beverage.

Ok, thanks.

We leave in a couple of days and have never had a dining plan. I'm just trying to know what to expect.

I didn't think the regular Dining Plan came with the mugs.

Like so many other things in WDW, it depends on the location, the CM helping you, the phase of the moon, the time of day, the alignment of the planets, etc. etc. :rotfl:

At AKL we were ALWAYS told it was OK to grab 2 drinks when using QS credits for breakfast. (The CM's there actually suggested it) Since we had refillable mugs, we would grab waters or iced tea for later in the parks. However, 5/08 was the last time we stayed there, so they may have changed.
Our last stay at CR, (10/08) we tried doing that at the temporary QS location before Contempo was open, and I think they looked at me as if I had an extra ear growing out of my forehead. They had never heard of such a thing.
They also tried charging me a QS credit for a yogurt parfait :scared1: since you can no longer use a snack credit now that they've raised the price. I seriously hope their "growing pains" are over now that they're open in their permanent home over there.

The regular dining plan does not come with mugs, which is why they get drinks and everyone else gets drinks as well. What I was trying to say is Disney does not change the portions that come with the quick service meal based on teh different plans.
