I know there might be a time when we would grab a QS meal instead of a TS, and I know the cost is not the same and we would in the end be losing some $ doing this...but how does TS convert to QS...if I were to use a child TS credit could you buy and adult QS meal with that or would you have to use a child TS credit? I know that the QS credits are all lumped together (no diff between adult and child), but I assume TS are marked child and adult. I hope I make sense?:headache:

IF you can get someone to switch a TS credit to a CS credit it would be Adult TS=Adult CS or Child TS=Child CS. Some resort food courts will do this for your, or if something came up (like someone got sick and missed a TS meal) the concierge at your resort may be able to switch a TS to a CS.

I was thinking about this as well. I didn't want to get laughed at to ask.. so i'm going to ask my next question. Can you convert your CS credits into TS credits? I know they would not be even "exchange", as TS would be more pricey I would think. I don't know if this is an option, but it would be great if it is. This is our 2nd trip to Disney (our first was last year in April). This trip we opted for a package with free dining. My mom is coming with us, and she likes TS meals, no CS :rolleyes1. I'm sure we will use all of our TS credits, and end up paying out of pocket for some, and end up with a bunch of CS credits left over. I don't know if there is a solution to this. We leave next week :cool1: Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I have stressed over ADR's. "Problem" is, last trip I did all the planning for dining (Thank GOD for these boards), so i'm expected to have it all planned out again this time. Thanks for any help, advice, and/or positive vibes:goodvibes

but how does TS convert to QS

It's a straight one for one conversion. People have most often reported that they were allowed to do this at the Food Courts in the resorts. Only rarely has anyone been able to do this at the CS places in the parks.

No, because as you say, it would not be an even exchange since a TS credit is worth more than CS.

You can sometimes trade down (1 TS to 1 CS or 1 CS to 3 snacks). This is usually just at the resorts though. Not all resorts allow the 3 snacks for 1 CS though. I know at CSR is was a straight 1 snack for 1 CS.

You can never trade up (CS to TS, or snacks to CS) though.

I'm taking my mom in June and she likes the TS meals too. We're on the free dining and she knows we'll do one a day. I do have an extra breakfast TS reservation that I'll pay out of pocket for. For the CS meals, I plan to go to places that have something similar to TS meals (like half a roasted chicken/mashed potatoes). I'll let her get the table while I get the food.

You can sometimes trade down (1 TS to 1 CS or 1 CS to 3 snacks).

So how about 1 TS for 3 snacks? My kids will have 2 TS left and I's rather get them snacks to split before heading to the beach than buy another unneeded TS or even CS meal for everyone.

There is no way to swap CS for TS. Sorry.

Here's something to consider though. If you know you won't want CS meals and you'll do plenty of TS meals then you might want to consider upgrading everybody to the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan (DxDDP). The DxDDP gives you 3 meal credits per day which can be used for TS or CS meals. You also get 2 snack credits and a refillable mug per person. Based on 2011 prices, it costs $31 per Disney Adult per night to upgrade to DxDDP from basic DDP ($78.99-$47.99) and $9 ($21.99-$12.99) per Disney Child per night. This gives you 3 meals instead of 2 per night plus an extra snack per night as well as a whole lot more flexibility. If your trip isn't during a peak period (I think you're going in late March or early April based on your ticker so based on 2011 dates that is peak) then it'll cost you an extra couple bucks per person.

ETA: Aparently I don't read well. LOL You already took your trip. Anyways, for future trips or for anybody else with this kind of situation, at least consider if upgrading to DxDDP is worthwhile.
