As we are looking at booking POFQ next year we will have the QS dining plan included free.

What are your favourite / best value uses of the QS credits. ?

Tony

Wolfgang Puck DTD Market place is fab but also really love the food court at the Poly resort. They also have a self serve Dole Whip machine:cool1: Having said that POR foodcourt is also great for the make your own pasta (we share as its huge). :thumbsup2

The best possible value meal for us was the Pepper Market breakfast at CSR.

All you can eat buffet - AMAZING selection (better than table service at Boma at AKL) for the price of one QS credit, including unlimited drinks.

We ate there every day!!

Otherwise Wolfgang Pucks or Earl of Sandwich were tasty QS locations. Using snack credits for cheese stuffed jalapeño pretzels worked great for us as they're a meal in themselves!

That sounds good. Do they do omelettes, waffles and those little fried potatoes as well? I might have to go there in November:goodvibes

EDITED..
oh no...I just had a look at it and they don't do buffets anymore, they changed it wef Jan this year!! damn, I hade my hopes up on that.

Starring Rolls is excellent quality ( Hollywood Studios). We went yesterday and had sushi, sandwiches (which were lovely) a selection of cakes and drinks. The children had the power pack for lunch and the staff were very friendly. $45 oop (we have dining plan) 8/10

We also went to Cosmic Rays (MK) on Friday which was slightly grim. $45 oop 3/10

Thursday we went to WP express. I had sushi, my husband had rotisserie chicken and my son has a pizza, whilst dd had mac 'n cheese. It was fine. I think it gets a 'great value' tag as the it is way over priced to start with eg $16 for the chicken. 7/10 $68 oop

3 x Beignets at POFQ for one snack credit did us for breakfast most mornings at POFQ while getting dressed to head for the parks. Sometimes we shared one breakfast, again, while getting ready.

Had a late lunch at POFQ a couple of times, pizza and the shrimp dish were good. POR for make your own pasta and salad.

E of S on the first night after taking the boat to DTD, took it back to POFQ as all of a sudden tiredness hit us.

WPE twice at night for meatloaf with mash, delicious and once for breakfast after going up in the hot air balloon where we used the balloon voucher if you took a flight before 10.30.

WL for lunch after horse riding at FW, AKL after visiting AK and Poly for a meal with a dole whip while watching Wishes from the beach. ;)

ETA forgot Norway for watching Illuminations. We were there during Flower and Garden and they have similar food stalls to F&W for a snack credit so we used 2 for having a snack before eating at Norway just before Illuminations. Also quite partial to fish and chips at UK pavilion and if you time it right and no-one is using the bit to the side for a private party you can sit on the bench and get a great view of the fireworks.

Those Beignets are SOOO good aren't they?:thumbsup2
Another fantastic snack credit is the funnel cake. Last year I was given one as a 'gift from Mickey' when I went to the stall in HS. :yay:

Oh no! Sorry about that, we stayed last June. It used to be great - cereal counter, bakery, Mexican counter, chef making omelettes, grits, pancakes, waffles and plenty of those yummy breakfast potatoes. All the usual sausages bacon and eggs too. Really disappointing to see its gone.

I guess it was just costing Disney too much money - really for the value we always thought it should have been a TS credit.

Ill remove it from my list of suggested resorts to stay next year lol!

We love Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, as well as the aforementioned WPE, EofS and Starring Rolls :D

Hi, as others have said we love:
1. Riverside for great choice including the brilliant make your own pasta
2. Wolfgang Puck Café at DTD - lovely meatloaf!
3. Columbia Harbour House in MK for great fish and shrimp
4. Starring Rolls at DHS for amazing sandwiches and wonderful cupcakes

But we also like:
1. Contempo Café at the Contemporary - more fantastic cupcakes for dessert in a great environment. Much nicer than fighting the crowds in MK
2. Casey's Corner in MK - no kids menu so a kids meal credit 'buys' the same as an adult
3. Typhoon Tilly's at TL for great shrimp
4. Flame Tree Barbecue at AK for great barbecue flavour

Just booked yesterday for our Port Orleans FQ trip for next summer so back to planning how best to use the dining plan - happy days :cheer2:

Have great fun planning!

Thanks Laura, more suggestions to add to my list ! Lucky you having booked POFQ - My DD is looking to book there in May 2014 and we are looking there for October 2014..
Happy planning to you too :)

We also found a number of great choices around World Showcase at Epcot. We liked QS at Morocco, China, Japan, Mexico, there were also some great snack choices there!

We ate at Sunshine Seasons last night (Epcot, Land) and that had a lot of choice. We had spicy cashew chicken with noodles and grilled salmon with veg. They also have other Asian dishes, sandwiches, sushi, salads, grilled meats, rotisserie chicken etc. 8/10. $45

I know on the normal dining plan the kid and adult QS credits arent split. So the kids can choose an adult meal anyway.

We have always found this handy as it means they our kids can share an adult meal and we can keep the credit for a night when we dont have a TS credit to use.

We also love WGP Express, I think its the fact they serve it to you at the table on proper plates and with metal cutlery that does it. Plus the portion sizes are pretty big for a QS an entire Pizza for 1 credit + Dessert and drink.

Earl of Sandwich is just plain YUMMY!

We always get this on the day we leave to eat at the airport while we wait for the plane. We tend to get a bag of crisps instead of a drink as they let us substitute the drink out for these.

We are also a fan of Yak and Yeti QS in Animal Kingdom.

The credits are not split but you are not allowed to buy more adult meals at one time than are shown on your KTTW card.

Although not split technically kids credits should be used to buy kids meals where there is a child menu available.

Whilst things have been allowed and worked in the past they can change at anytime so you are better planing for the worst case and hoping for the best case.

Thanks this is rely helpful. I have an 8 year old who is struggling to eat here at the moment based on the pretty appalling kids selection. Last night he ate 1 small chicken breast and one small brownie. The chicken breast was served with one small ice cream scoop of cold mash and raw broccoli. We were worried about ordering adults for him although realised they were not split x Will attempt counter food courts from now on x

Have a look at some of the places that don't do kids meals, that way he will get a better selection,
My boys will NO way eat those chicken nuggets thy serve an yet love the adult ones as try are more like a chicken select ( I love them also) lol
That's why we get them the adult one and they split it,
Or I share with a child as I find there to be more then enough for me and a child.
I do hope you find better food for him, some of the kids choices are dire!!

Thank you x He won't starve as loves pretzels, lol but it is a concern. The kids meals are around the right size for a 3-4 year old. Once they get to 8 (and ds is a little eater) a sandwich made from the equivalent of one crust less slice of bread with half a carrot and a little cookie isn't really cutting it. We are looking into the food courts where there are more options and also switched a load of table service reservations to buffets as they can choose from everything there. Thank you x 1900 Park Fayre and Biergarten have been the best so far. Both children really enjoyed Teppan Edo too x
