Today is National Clean Out Your Fridgerator Day.
(seriously it is)

So, after you clean out frig, come back and tell us either what was the grossest thing you found or the most outdated.

You mean I have to clean it..

I can tell you the issue that sets me off the most is when they spill kool-aid and won't clean it up..and hey, the lysol wipes and the towels are in the drawers right next to the fridge.. HeLLO! I put them there for a reason...

Boo! I cleaned it out yesterday :(

I had a pound of ground beef that I should have used by 11/10 that was brown. Does that count?

I'm sure I can get beaten. ;)

As my 2 year old says- AWWWWWWW MAN!!!!!! I don't wanna. Fine....I might do it since I have company coming this weekend. Although I kinda need to catch up on the rest of the house too. We'll see.

OOOOHHHHH do i have to?????????
YUCK-O!

11/10?!
That is so not old. You must keep up with your fridg.

I need to go do mine too. I already know that the bottom, under the crisper drawer will be totally gross.

I clean mine on Tuesdays...trash day is Wednesday.

As of this morning, there was big pile of venison that DH had to package...but as of now, he is finished... so that was the grossest as of today...

BUT don't ask about the grossest from last week :lmao: YUCK-O!!!

I tossed the expired lunch meat on Tuesday. There is some limpy celery still in the crisper though. I don't do leftovers, so there is never any tupperware with something alien inside. Our fridge is so small that nothing can stay too long past due because there wouldn't be room for something else. This is the time of year where I have to think of creative ways to stack things because I have to fit the turkey in there on Sat.

We tend to throw things out on Thursdays as garbage is Friday so we don't usually find "fuzzy" pork chops or green hamburger. The worst thing right now is some heading toward slimy lettuce which will go out tonight!

...that would require there to be food in my fridge, right? There's katsup and mustard, neither of which I use, and I don't think they ever expire. A couple cans of fruit seltzer. A jar of pickles. Can a pickle go bad? Aren't they, by their very nature, bad to begin with? Hmm, a stick of butter, some horseradish, and a tube of wasabi.

Rather than cleaning my fridge, I think this experiment proved that I need to go shopping.

My home fridge never has anything interesting in it, because we never have real food in it. You will find lots of bottled water and cans of soda, and not much of anything else.

My work fridge on the other hand - that is science experiment central. My partner has a lovely wife that packs him a lovely little balanced lunch every day, and he won't bring anything home that he doesn't eat because he doesn't want to disappoint her. So he sticks it in the fridge. Of course, he never does eat anything from that fridge, because the next day she has all new goodies for him. So the ziploc baggies of fruits and vegetables undergo various states of decomposition and allow us to play our favorite game - "What did this used to be?" Our hands down favorite was the time we found totally transparent questionable blobs. They looked almost like cucumber slices, but they were the wrong shape. It took us hours, but we finally figured out they used to be apple slices. And he doesn't limit his experiments to the fridge either. My other favorite was when I opened up a binder and a bag of 3-day-old used-to-be-strawberries fell out. He certainly makes life interesting.

spinach that my hubby sealed it a zip lock that now had liquid in the bottom..... why did he even buy it in the first place without other salad accompaniments is beyond me and stew that isn't fuzzy but probably 1 1/2- 2 weeks past edible. I think it is a toss the container too kinda job. Now do i have to clean the shelves and stuff? LOL and where do stand alone freezers come into this. I have been working on empting mine for 2 months now so 1 i can defrost it and two so there will be breat milk storage room, but what do you know DH and I are empting it but then buying newer stuff...... aghh i think in another two weeks i'll be good to go..... or maybe i just need to throw a big party to cook up al the food in there

I got as far as cleaning the fridge door yesterday. MAYBE I will get a shelf done today.

I got the entire thing done yesterday!! Wow, do I need to go grocery shopping. :lmao:

I clean my fridge on Mondays because the trash runs on Tuesdays. Lately though there hasn't been much to dispose of since I am raising three children who have hit the garbage disposal "teen" stage.

I would like to see if just for once we could have NO DIRTY LAUNDRY whatsoever in this house as we have so many different activities going on that everyone changes clothes at least three times a day (some more). Is there a National Laundry Day?

Darn, I missed National Clean out your Frig Day. Shucks!

I'll clean it tomorrow, Monday is garbage day.

Okay, I waited till garbage day. I amk ind of disturbed that I found raisins in the fridge.:scared: The problem being they were grapes when they went in!:rotfl: :rotfl:
