Qeustion about Jiko's and the filet and Mac and cheese?

Well hopefully by request it is, but the steak is always tender and the wine reduction sauce is so delicious... It never disappoints and I'm a fussy cook so it takes a lot to impress me

I've heard several accounts that if you ask for it, they will make it for you. I hope so - I hadn't had a chance to try it myself yet

So gonna ask, hopefully they can accommodate, if not, the risotto it is....Sure it won't disappoint....

I know they still make it as a vegetarian option often, so it's probably still OK to ask for it, but the hominy risotto is sooooo good (so get the mac and cheese on the side and share it for the memories! ). Also, for an awesome mac and cheese that's still on the menu, head to Artist's Point - different than Jiko's, but crazy, crazy good!

I used to just ask for the mac and cheese as a replacement, but one time, sitting up at the Chef's counter area where they prepare the appetizers, one of the sous chefs and I got into a rather interesting conversation about how much time and effort goes into the chef thinking about and creating dishes, etc. etc.. I guess I had never really thought about it that way, and knowing that these guys are professional, I feel like I should trust them enough to not steer me wrong But I still get the mac and cheese every once and a while in addition just because !

Me too! That's why I like to keep the recommended pairing with the dish, but if I really want a different accompaniment I oprder a side to split with the table. Works great every time!

I do love the dish so much with the mac n Cheese...The thing is I will probably love it as much with the risotto... I will order it on the side just in case Now that my kids are in their late teen and early 20's it more about a relaxed dinner, some wine a few shows, a leisurely walk through the park maybe a few rides and the meals are part of the wonderful time in disney... Only time I get served... quite a treat for me

Last month, I had the filet with the hominy risotto and it was delicious. I liked the different textures and flavors; the grilled asparagus & the wine reduction. It was definitely a favorite meal (plan on ordering it again when we return next month.)

My kids both got the mac & cheese as a side with their kids steak meals and loved it so much we all shared an extra portion of just the mac & cheese. Our waiter brought us a bowl of it for $7 - apparently that is the price for the kids mac & cheese alone if they were to order it as their entree. So for those of you who want to enjoy both the hominy risotto and the mac & cheese, you can have that option!

Fantastic, thanks for the heads up... May just stick with the dish designed by the chef here, it sounds interesting and delicious... Going in Dec and will order this for sure
