Qantas Sale to Dallas

Sydney to dallas is only:rotfl:15hours, we are here now, heading home via dallas on monday,. We flew on september 16 and connected to an aa plane for orlando. This was a qf codeshare flight.

Thanks I was hoping it wouldn't be too much more than 15 or so hours especially going with a 5 year old! How was it connecting planes to a AA plan for Orlando?

We were booked through on the one international tiket, we had a three hour layover, which you would think was plenty but by the time you go through immigration and customs, and then get to the other side of the airport, there wasnt much time to spare before boarding our next flight, i am pretty paranoid about these things and wouldnt let dh go to the bathrom until we were outside our gate:rotfl:
We boarded our plane which was due to take off at five on time, will post details of how we didnt arrive at pop century until after midnight in my yet to come TR.

:rolleyes1 Well it seems that the ticker that appeared when we were in the USA might just be right :rotfl:
Just got of the phone with DH and tonight we are working out dates and going to call the travel agent he has told me to just book :eek: and we will be keeping this a surprise from everybody and the kids how will i do that :rotfl2: Thank God i have the dis boards to share with:lmao::lmao:
I don't want to get excited yet just incase it doesn't come of

I am so happy for you. Hope it comes off.

Different day, but the same flight and connection. Definitely get booked through. That way if Qantas is late from Sydney then it's their problem to get you to Orlando rather than being a no-show with a different airline. And vice versa!

We found the three hours to be ok as well - wouldn't want any less. We had enough time in the end to get a drink and some fries before boarding. And with kids it seems to take longer!

:banana::banana::banana: it's done i Can reinstate the ticker:banana::banana:
I fly out on the 16th July with 3 kids and DH will fly in on Aug 1 with DS 16 they will fly home on the 23rd August and the rest of us fly home on the 6 Sept:banana::banana:
:eek:I cant believe it that we are going that we have done it or that i am going to spend so much time away from DH.
Now to keep my mouth zipped to keep the surprise:ssst:
:scared1:Time for some very serious saving we just spent some our money that was meant to buy a car:scared1::scared1:

Congrats WAMUMOF4! how exciting - and joining in with the wonderful planning obsessives!

I have bought this QF DFW-MCO fare for my upcoming trip and have the same timing etc as everyone else has mentioned here. Got a great discount fare from Qantas for DFW-MCO rtn - and as mentioned before - you get your bags checked through, you get managed by Qantas in case you are late etc etc

Timing actually works a bit better in my view - through LAX. Catch the morning flight out of Syd or Bris - land in LAX early in the morning. layover is reasonable short - 90mins or 2 hours - basically straight onto the next flight (QAN and AA have had this worked out for a while) and then land in Orlando at 4:30pm - I was in the MK by 6pm.

With the DFW route, leave 2.25pm SYD - arrive MCO at 8:30pm - basically lose a night.
