Q about waitlists?

I have a probably stupid question. Long time DVCer here, but not experienced with wait lists (WL).

I am struggling with the 2 wait list limit. I have one outstanding at OKW, to try and get the "near Hosp. house" option.

And I wanted 2 nights at VGC for early Sept, mid week. (I know, it is small, I have stayed there a few times before). I would prefer a 1BR for the 2 nights. But only weds was available, in a studio. I booked it, but did not see a way to also waitlist the 2nd night, as part of the same reservation? So I went in separately and did a WL for the 2nd night, in a studio. But, does this mean DH might have to switch rooms if the 2nd night in a studio comes thru?? Is there a way to have them linked if it comes thru? Do I need to call MS to request this?

And I wanted to WL the same 2 nights in a 1BR, but I can't because of the OKW WL, and the studio 2nd night WL. ARGHH. It is annoying. I usually never even use a WL. I guess I will just check each day, and do a WL for the 1BR if/when one of the other 2 comes thru.

It sounds like you understand it. If one of your current WL clears or is canceled, you can modify your GC WL for a different or additional options. Keep checking with them also for both the studio and 1 BR as the WL is not a perfect system.

Does the inventory change throughout the day online for DVC resorts?

Does it fill the waitlist first? Or it might show up online somehow?

I will book the 2nd night with cash if I can, just to be able to make plans and be covered either way. I was actually lucky to even get the one night I think.

The inventory does change and the available units are not held for the WL first.

I am on a waitlist for a 2-BR at BLT for the first week in December. Right now only 4 of the 7 days are available. What are my chances that the entire week becomes available for that week?

Followup, I had one night in a studio at VGC in sept, needed a 2nd night. Was on waitlist, which did not come thru. Imagine my shock when I saw the 2nd night available today when I randomly went onto DVC.com!! (I have been looking at it here and there, because I would love to bump it up to a 1BR, but I have 2 wait lists already, so I have to look myself).

Weird, I guess I snagged it before they ran the next waitlist matching program. Hooray! I then cancelled the studio one night WL and created a 2 night 1 BR waitlist/ but as long as we have the studio, not a big deal!
