Q about unbirthdays and un anniversaries?

I wanted to go the the EPCOT Flower & Garden show for my 50th b-day on April 8, but the garden show doesn't start by then. So, we're going when we can schedule it around the garden show dates and my school testing schedule because I can't leave my students to test without their teacher! I want my b-day to feel special so my DH and DD are going to secretly choose a day on our trip and call it my b-day. They will plan all the surprises for me, but I won't know anything until I awaken on the day they have chosen to celebrate. I don't think there's anything wrong with calling it my birthday celebration day because that is what it will be. I'm not expecting WDW to provide extra pixie dust. My family should take care of that for me. But, if Tinker should fly my way, I won't wave her on. I will enjoy all the good wishes I receive and so should you. May your trip be magical!

We too will be celebrating three bdays while visiting Mickey and the Gang in early December. Hope I'm not one to be bashed at for doing this as two are for my DDs who gave up having a "party" with their home friends :grouphug: earlier this summer so they could party: in style. In fact, our trip was in exchange for all major holidays (and gifts) including bdays and Christmas. The other bday is DH, who's big day is the day after Christmas and as most with a Christmas bday, always feels left out so we are going to have his moment while at WDW so he'll feel real special too. I was a good DW and DM though ....I ordered him a "manly" cake..(ALL chocolate) and for the DDs I've ordered one cake from the GF and added two slippers, one for each DD. :thumbsup2 .... WAIT....I'm beginning to feel a little left out :sad1:

Definitely do something special to commemorate your birthday/anniversary. We were in WDW during the week of my birthday this year and I got a button from each park and wore it every day through the day of my actual birthday. For the most part nothing "special" happened except that I got TONS of "Happy Birthday" wishes from CMs and other guests alike. It was great! As long as you are not pretending it is an occasion on the off chance of getting special treatment, I don't see any reason to feel guilty.
