PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

Actually, resale PVB could be of interest to us now when resale not good at RIv never has.

My DH liked RIV, but like VGF more more and since he might start coming more often, having two MK options might be okay.

So, since we have blue card and plenty of RIv eligible points, it means no need to buy direct…but we are still waiting until at least 2026
I’m in the exact same boat. Own at RIV direct and AKV resale. Was planning to buy poly direct if different associations but now am only considering poly resale (or maybe not at all using the money to cruise). I’m curious where resale prices go from here. If they stay as high as they have been I’ll just take my chances and book what I can at 7 months with my RIV/ak points.

Sheesh! I gotta say I’m pretty disappointed with the points chart. I was really hoping Disney would do the right thing, and not go crazy with the theme park view points…but they went crazy with the theme park view points!

938 points for a 2 bedroom theme park view over the Christmas and Easter weeks!?!?! This is insane. Consider a VGF lake view 2 bedroom over the same week is 759 for 7 nights!

Anyone buying into PVB with the idea of staying theme park view during the more popular travel times, you are gonna need some seriously deep pockets.
Looking at the IT point charts - wow, I can get a week in early January in a 2 br. VGF standard view - & hope I get one of the standard views that has views of the MK fireworks for 361 points, or I can guarantee a MK fireworks view in a 2 br. theme park IT villa for 523 points 😱.

Sometimes there could be. Like with BPK, the first 150 got a luggage set.

So, we will have to see what they come out with and my assumption is it will be on October 1st.

I thought it was the first 500 that bought at VGF2. We got a set. Definitely not as nice as they described it to be.

25 points is the minimum I noticed. That was the minimum before but I thought when they did BPK they had upped VGF to a 50 point minimum.

Additional information to consider:

Minimum Point add on is: 25 points for cash purchase, 50 points for Member Financing
Price is $225 per point. Promotions (if any) have not yet been announced.

Polynesian Tower lines up with existing Resort, Deed Expires January 31st. 2066

We will match your Use Year and the Points will be distributed in your 2025 Use Year.

For current owners and those adding on at the Polynesian, Member Bookings start October 15th and the Tower opens December 17th.

Welppppp I guess I can wait til March of 2026 to buy LOL. Thanks DVC!

Man, this point chart is ROUGH.

I had done a prediction point chart. The 1BR are about 5% lower than I anticipated, and the 2BR S/P are within 2% of my expectations, but the 2BR TPV is 10% more than I expected.

A 2BR TPV in Season 1 is 523 points/week!! That's roughly 2x the price of a Standard at SSR/BLT/CCV.

It's obviously a premium view category, and I would gladly take a S/P view -- still super expensive, but not catastrophically so -- but with only lock-offs in those categories I really worry about availability. We'll probably look at SAP points instead, unless the incentives are niiiiccceeee. (Ha!)
I missed where this was announced so thanks for mentioning it. We only book 2BR LOs since that gives us two A/C controls.

In regard to the tower vs longhouse studios, doesn’t the tower only have a shower? I could swear we had the conversation in the thousands of posts earlier this year.

I think this boosts RIV sales through the end of the month and early October (call guide Sept 30 before midnight). Paperwork and closing won’t happen for a bit. Those deeds could be delayed weeks-months before recorded on county website.

PVB sales numbers may be decided by incentives. No points until our 2025 Sept UY is a major negative. Most existing owners who know the system and don’t need/want blue card will save a ton on resale and have points today (if not stripped).

The combination makes me think RIV might see a price increase coming. Also, Disney could lower incentives until sold out.
I just called my guide and he definitively said we WOULD get September, 2024 UY points. He didn't know if MB would be offered as an incentive, but he hopes so.

Seems like better news afoot about starting UY, not sure why some received an email stating starting 2025, you would think the comms would be standard and proof read

Oh yeah…you are right. I bought 150 in two different UYs and got two sets!! Lol

Thanks for the correction! Alright in Disney brain as I just boarded my flight!!

There is no timeshare at Universal. Buying DVC enables you to have cheaper stays at Disney than cash bookings at Universal.

Of course it's not worth it buying DVC points if you won't be staying at Disney all the time. Epic Universe isn't even open, I'm not sure how your family is 'heavily invested' in Epic Universe. This seems like a troll post.
🤣🤣🤣. “Heavily invested” means my adult children drag me into the preview center at city walk on the way out of IOA before we hit Starbucks and Cinnabon … this is where they tag team the emotional extortion on how to spend their inheritance before my death ☠️

A couple questions/answers from my guide:

Q. Fixed Week in a Villa: Does that guarantee a Tower Villa? A. It does guarantee that particular type of room during the particular week you pick. You can also opt out of that week and we give you your points to use at any other time of the year.

Q. Does buying in now guarantee any priority vs other Poly owners (without a fixed week)? A. No it does not.

I also found out that no promotional info will be announced until October 1.

It has been clarified that all PVB owners, adding on or not, will have the same booking rights.

But, if you don’t own PvB already, then yes, adding on now will allow you to book it as a home resort owner October 15th where the rest of us have to wait until end of November to use our non PVB points.
If you are buying a new contract and not get points until 2025 UY, then would you have to borrow points your first year if the trip is in December? I have Oct UY, so in order to use points, I would have to borrow them

Did everyone get the same email. Any chance emails were tailored for UY?
Evidence is here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/i...llas-bungalows.3945907/page-175#post-65691706

My concern is that if S/P Studios are in high demand, too many 2BR LOs will get broken up, making it hard to book. If it turns out that functionally it's hard to book any 2BR that isn't TPV, it's prohibitively expensive.
Could definitely be like a BWV situation

OP's have indicated you do get OCT UY points. I am waiting on that question from my guide just to be sure as it is too much $$ to get excited about if we can't/won't do it.

Yeah, that's how it has always worked. Note that you have to buy 10% more points than the week would normally require and pay dues on those points. If you're targeting a week that would cost 300 points to book at 11 months, the fixed week will require you to buy 330. If you opt-out, you get all 330 points to use for other things. Keep the week and you use 330.

But it does help hedge against inflation. If the point charts are changed and your week suddenly costs 350 to book in the traditional manner, it still only costs you the 330. If economics are of paramount concern, making some educated guesses about the future of the point charts would be wise.

(I wouldn't necessarily buy a fixed week in august, because that's the one period that still seems really over priced and could go down in the future. But take your own guesses about what may happen to September - December in the future.)

There's some other backstory here:
