I am really hoping these have some decent 7m availability in the future. Views of MK fireworks, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian…. truly iconic.

Point chart is about 5% less expensive than a Bungalow.

As a BLT owner, the clear choice after seeing the points chart is to buy more blt points if I ever need more. I can’t imagine using 2 bdrm points on a 1 bdrm. More days > high point rooms imo.

Agreed even if you have to book the Lake/TP view you still are coming out ahead.

I haven't berated anyone. I asked a sincere question.

Every decision has pros and cons. I listed several ways in which the existing studios are quantifiably better than the new studios. They're larger, more showers, closer to the TTC, and sleep 5. Those are objective, measurable facts, not differences in opinion.

So if those things are in the "pro" column for the existing studios, what are the "cons" that I'm missing that would cause someone to prefer the tower? Asking that question isn't berating anyone who likes the tower, I'm literally asking about their thought process because I'm interested in it.

I think that the interior room access feels "more deluxe" to some guests (**ETA correction, current Poly has this too, so we'll say higher floor options get an edge), and having at least one food option available within the same building/not having to brave the elements to get to it is really nice. This is similar to the appeal at Gran Destino Tower over the rest of the Coronado buildings, and a few aspects of what many of us enjoy about Riviera.

Okay, now for the reality of the nasty "bots". For example:

If you buy 320 points with the intention of trying for a 1 BR at Halloween, IMO you should buy a fixed week that can always be converted to regular points IMO. I really feel the 1 BR (always last everywhere else) will be a big hit even with a high point value...and then the bots come in and snag every single 1 BR night as it becomes available at 11 and then 7 months. Of course, you have the other Poly owners you will be competing with...

You just paid $60,000+ (with some incentives?) and basically have no chance of getting a 1 BR. IMO if you want a specific week and a specific villa this is really the only way to go or you are in for a big reality check. If I am wrong, please correct me!

I'm asking who would book a tower Deluxe Studio *at the Poly* versus a resort Deluxe Studio *also at the Poly.*

The reason that comes to mind for me:

Some folks like to be in a more "self-contained" resort. See for example all the folks who complained that BRV (nee VWL) was separated from the main building by a covered walkway. The tower's more compact (and interior) access to resort amenities might make up for the smaller units for some folks.

So the longhouses seems to have changed designation from S (standard) and L (Lake) to S and P (Preferred). Do we think they will redesignate the longhouse rooms? I really hope not, but wanted to get opinions from the braintrust...

Note that I am not a "self-contained resort" person. I prefer the OKW/SSR style because of the increased privacy and sense of spaciousness. That's why Baskin-Robins has 31 flavors.
