PVB - How hard to book at 7 months?

I would most likely book split stays at 11 months out (if reservation required more points than I have) and then see what’s available at 7 months. But if resale contracts have same UY and ownership, I should be able to combine points at 7 months (no transfer required), correct?

Correct , could easily combine at 7 months. I think booking both at 11 months and then see what is available at 7 months is good plan. I think you will have several good options.

I HAVE MY PETER DOMINICK TRIFECTA!! (BRV/CCV, AKV and now VGC)

As for us, we just bought at our 3rd DVC HOME, and our Trifecta consists of SSR/BCV/AKV.
We love SSR for Golf & Disney Springs.
Can't beat BCV for the SAB Pool and access to EPCOT & the Skyliner,
and AKV is just a Gorgeous resort, with great theming, restaurants, pools, and the Savannah's can't be replicated.

I'd like to know - who else has their perfect DVC Trifecta ?? :goodvibes
My trifecta right now is SSR/BLT/and will be closing soon on an AKL. Those are good for my family, but wouldn’t mind a poly contract too!

Every night a bungalow sits empty is equivalent to about 18 nights in a studio. That puts tremendous pressure on the studios. Booking a studio at 7 months has been difficult.

Poly not hard imo but isn’t it like 2nd highest after VGF slash tie with RIV

Yeah -- even now it's just showing up as "loading" with endless cycle of circling dots. As long as it is working for everyone else -- that's good enough.
Most of the links people post show like that for me, but I can still click on it and get to where it is going. Not sure why it does that. Maybe a browser issue? I am using Chrome.

When I looked at the Poly room booking availability history, it looks like if you are fairly specific about when you want to go, you may not be able to book at 7 months.

It's a Board software issue, not related to the browser you are using. AFAIK, the staff is working on it. Don't know how long it will take to resolve. But as you say, although it looks odd, if you click on it, you will go to the intended webpage.

I would have given serious consideration to purchasing 125 direct points at CC if it weren't for the lack of studio availability. It's a non-starter for me as I'm single and no plans of having kids, so studios fit my travel needs.
I needed a resort with a guaranteed studio, which is why the Poly is my homebase. I love the Beach Club and Grand, but worry about finding a studio.

I was torn between CCV and PVB but ultimately went with CCV. We travel during Christmas so CCV is arguably the nicest resort IMO. I know it’s difficult to even secure a studio at 11 months so that can scare people away but it’s something I knew going into it. What concerned me with PVB was the point charts. There’s been talk on the boards and other outlets that there’s always the possibility of adjustment to the upside with the point heavy Bungalows. It’s a great resort, spectacular views and on the monorail loop. Resale has been gradually moving upward. My CCV was $140/pt on 100pts back in Jan. PVB was about right in line with that, but has since broke higher. Point charts are much more favorable at CCV though. We also own at AKV which is point friendly, but has also increased with all the others per point. Good luck with your decision.

I agree 100%. Husband and I are calling it the DVC trifecta for us. Excluding GC of course.

Perfect! For the MK, EPCOT/HS, AK trifecta definition, we have also completed that! Just for us it is CCV, RIV, AKV. Don't get us wrong, though, if the right Poly contract with a SEP UY comes along, we will follow you in that Trifecta. :)

Ha ha ha! I still say that Peter Dominick Trifect is the best Trifecta. ;-) I am sad that we will never have another resort designed by him, but I am holding out hope that Reflections will honor is legacy.

My DH points out that Aulani might not be a Peter Dominick resort, but it has the similar kind of "natural style" architecture that draws heavy influence from the region/theme of the resort. I think DH just wants to own at Aulani, too. ;-) He's also ready convinced me to pick up RIV. I worry about future dues and have no clue around Hawaii timeshare laws, but those buy-in prices are admittedly tempting. ;-)

We don’t have a trifecta we have a multiverse, we like all the DVC resorts 🤪 We never stay for long periods so we have a bit of points at each giving us the 11mo booking window based on our trip plans and time of year.

BWV for walking to Epcot and HS
SSR for the treehouses
VGF because it’s our favorite resort, especially the restaurants
AKL we love staying on the savanna
OKW for the size and low points cost
VGC because we honeymooned there & love DL
And BLT if we can ever get past ROFR for the second bathroom in a one bedroom and location.
Love it!! Agree with you about SSR for the Treehouses! We don't own OKW and I'm ashamed to say I haven't stayed there yet, but I am tempted for some OKW in the future for those 3BR Villa point charts for when we do big family trips. We'd want to stay there first, but those point charts are NICE.

I would love to own BWV or BCV, but I just cannot bring myself to pay their prices, alas!

We luckily bought BWV at $55 pt resale in 2012 I would definitely not pay the prices now. That was our first DVC contract. Watching the price climb higher and higher I’ve said to my husband a few times over the year we should sell it and buy more points at one of the newer resorts but we just love it there. We will only be in our early 60s when 2042 rolls around so we are in it for the the long haul with BWV. OKW is so spacious and it just feels homey, however we do not like the refurb they just did they took out everything that made it look like key west inside. Too much grey for our tastes.

What a great price! Good for you!
Every time I see these posts, I wish wish wish I had been in a financial position to buy DVC back in 2011 when we first wanted to. We were even offered then to apply the cost of our trip towards the cost of DVC, but we had young children and were less financially secure, and so we didn't buy in then.

Why why why does Disney keep refurbing into bland and boring "I could find this at any major hotel" style of decor?? What I love about Disney is the theming that really takes me to the location of the resort's theme. It's why I love the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, and why I own there! And now I am sad that I won't get that key west feeling when I finally do get around to staying at OKW. :(
