I got a quote from a AAA agent for this trip:
2 adults, DD11, DS16
11/19-11/27 (8 nites) Coronado Springs
7 day MYW hopper/plus
MYW meal plan

The AAA price quoted was only about $100 less than the Disney online ressie price. Does that seem right, or should I expect a bigger difference? Thanks!!

I just answered on your other post. AAA usually quotes ground transportation and trip insurance with their quotes. Call back and find exactly what is in your quote.

I know ground transport was not included (rather the Disney Magic Express WAS included at no cost) because we did discuss it specifically. I will check on the trip insurance, though. Thanks.

It depends on the agent. I have finally found an agent who "got it right". I would call and try to get another agent.

We went through AAA for a 9 night stay at AKL with the MYW dining & only saved $100 too

I was transferred to a AAA travel representative who used to be a CM. She was VERY helpful! Would you like the 800 # and her extension?

I have read and heard that there is a tax on the MYW dining. Even on a popular planning site that I paid for has a tax added to the $10 and $35. Going through AAA I was not charged tax on the dining. My room discount was 20%. I paid about $85 for trip insurance which I thought was worth it since you get charged a penalty if you change your reservation when you are 45 days in. Plus my sister is on my reservation and she is flying in and she would be covered too (never know about flights!). The insurance will cover even just 1 or 2 days if you are delayed because of something out of your control.

I have a cable modem. So while I was on the phone with her I was on the Disney site on tickets only part. I put in the # of adult and # of kids and clicked the magic magic plus option (I am going to add park hopper option later if I think we need it) and it give you the TOTAL price for everyone. Don't forget tax on the tickets (11%?), though, you will need to add that to your total.

So add your room amount times the discount, the amount for your tickets (from the WDW site), the MYW dining price/day for your family times the number of nights, tax on tickets and insurance. You can do that while you are on the phone with the AAA representative and it should be that amount that she quotes you. I was only $1 off from her quote.

Hope that helps :earboy2:

I'd appreciate the number and extension...It would be nice to work with someone that knows more than I do ;) I felt like I had to explain an awful lot to the agent I was working with. Thanks for your advice!

Ok fellow Texan! ha...I am a Texan living in VA and trying to get back! I grew up in Arlington, TX.

Anyway! The number is 1-800-436-4222
Her name is Genny and the extension is 85841

Please come back and let us know if it worked out for you!!

Good luck!

Sorry I am back!!

Ok I just did some quick numbers!

Your meal plan since your kids are considered adults would be $1220 for 8 nights.

Your tickets (kids are adults! ahhh!) would be $1072

Tax on tickets approx. $118

I am not sure what your room would be! sorry!

Our AAA agent got us about $450 off the disney online rate for July 7- July 14 at the Poly.

I appreciate the number crunching, Carrie! I'll let you know how it goes. Btw, all three of my kids were born in Arlington, we live in Fort Worth now :)

Also, clombardi, you're giving me hope with that big discount!
