Putting shadow's on font?

Does anyone here use GIMP? I'm trying to work on a few of my DISigns myself, so I don't feel so guilty asking for the DISigners to do so many!

Anyway, I've been using GIMP and was trying to do the image below with the Disney font, but when I print it out, the font is too hard to read, with almost any color. I think if I use black but have a white outline on the font, it will work, but have no idea how to shadow the black font with white. Can anyone tell me how??
