My tip is put your name address phone number and email address on your camera!!! I lost mine on the bus heading back to Saratoga Springs last week and lost and found does not have it. I really wish I had done this as there is no way for someone to identify it as mine. I feel so stupid and I just want to cry knowing I lost a $200.00 camera and all the pictures of my son with all the characters!!

We also use our digital camera to snap a picture of our kids each morning....this way should they beomc elost for any reason we can quickly recall what they were wearing to tell the CMs.

I also agree with putting you name and number on the camera but not the address. Just a phobia I have about people knowing my address I guess.

My husband left his on EE and relized it after we were in line for it again. I volunteered to go see if it was found and what a hassel on my part NOT DISNEY. I went first back to the ride and they told me to go to the gift shop. At the gift shop I went to the first register I came to and was told to go to the photo pick up window. At that window I explained what happened and they told me it's about a 15 minute turn around till items are broght to the window. The cars are checked after each ride. I went back in 15 minutes and was asked to describe the camara. I don't use it and had no idea what it looked like. Tried several times to get a hold of my husband to ask what it looked like (they had a hour wait for the ride and it had been about 20-25 minutes so far) I finnally got thru and he described it and then told me his tickets were in the case. I wish He had told me that right away. Well back to the window for the 3rd time with yet another CM (I was told they switched off every 20 minutes). I described it and told him about the tickets and off he went. 5 minutes later he returned with the camara. I thanked him a million times and went out side to call my husband and let him know so He could enjoy the ride which He did. Moral is make sure you know what it looks like if your the one trying to get it back. (Also, it's a good thing He lost it because the whole world would of known it if I had)

We print out labels with our name, cell phone number and the resort we are staying at...we put labels on anything we take into the park. Camera, film containers (when we used to carry film - now we do digital), we tag our backpacks, etc.

I have always thought about it, but never did. We leave in two days and will this time! THANKS! Glad you got it back!

I am so sorry this happened to you.

The saddest part to me about it all is that whoever found it and saw your pictures of your kid did not have enough concern for your vacation memories to return it.

I have thought about calling back and asking if they have found the memory card, hoping someone would at least return that. Maybe I will. It would sure make me feel better to at least have those pictures!!! It was our first trip to WDW so I have learned and will do things differently next time. Hope someone else can remember to label anything they may lose.

Did you let lost and found know? I lost my camera at Disneyland a couple of years ago. I let L&F know but they did not have it. I thought I had lost it around Splash Mt. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later, I got it in the mail. It was waterlogged and broken but I got it back!! I think it had fallen out of my bag into the log and probably got caught in the front somehow. So, moral of the story... maybe it will turn up!

I'm sorry that happened to you :sad1: but thanks for passing on a great tip. I would never have thought to label my camera but I will definitely be printing out some labels now. I can't imagine spending all that money to go on a trip of a lifetime with my family and then losing all our pictures. I hope you get yours back - sending you some pixie dust for luck. pixiedust:

My husband lost our camera in Sept....be sure you file a report with Lost & Found ASAP. We did & even visited it, thinking that would help (it didn't & wasted time). I asked about the memory card & they said no one would do that b/c it would look like they did steal a camera. I don't understand why someone never turned it in...they had no battery charger, no instructions, nothing. It really bothered me the rest of the trip that some creep would want to keep MY memories...or erase them. I hope they lay awake at night regretting that. Anyway, if you don't get it back (which we never did), and you purchased the travel insurance w/ a package, you can file w/ them & get reimbursed for the lost items. It doesn't bring back all the once in a lifetime memories, but it is something.

My dad lost his camcorder on our October trip. We accidently left it on the bus from our resort. We went and filed a report at lost and found but it was never turned in after 7 days. It's very sad. Like someone else said, it wasn't the camcorder itself it was all the memories on the tape inside.

My sister recently went to New Orleans to help Habitat for Humanity. On the way to the airport she forget the camera in a rental car. She called the rental place when she got home, they gave her a hard time but said they would look for it. Never found it. I can't believe that someone would see pictures in there of people who are helping out and not turn it in. Actually, I think it stinks that someone would find a camera and not turn it in. But the world is full of people like that!! Makes you think twice about helping others.

:confused3 same thing happened to us in Sept. we left the camera bag on Cinderella's Carousel and got off the ride and got to the parking lot and then dd say's who's got the camera bag??? we were right by lost and found was to it was soon to be sent there so we go pack to the park, I have to stop and get dd another ticket because her park hopper was in the bag , dh runs back to ride, no camera , different people at ride tell him to go to main st. and ask. the bag had a 250.00 camera, a new inhaler and 2 memory cards, park hopper and smashed pennies. never to be seen again. it was the last day of our trip......:scared:

I hate to burst anybody's bubble, but, my son lost his gameboy at WDW in July, 2004. It was labeled with his name and our home phone number, as was the case it was in and the game that was in it. When you lose something at WDW, you are totally at the mercy of other guests and the WDW staff. The last time I saw the gameboy was after we had dinner at Boma, and we were outside watching animals. Then DH and DS went inside to the rest room, and we went to our car. On the way back to our room, we stopped at the two gift shops in GF, and he could have left it anywhere in those places. When we discovered it missing, we retraced all our steps, but the employees at the gift shops and the two resorts said nobody had turned a gameboy in. I called Lost and Found repeatedly, and I was told that nobody turned any gameboys in from July to September (a 90 day period) that year! Amazing and unbelievable.
