Just seen an official WDW release regarding Push on wdwnt.com twitter page that said his contract is expired and he is definitely not being replaced by anything similar as they have "no plans" to do anything similar. Don't know why there was news saying he was staying recently, because he now officially isn't! You could say PUSH, ironically, has been trashed!

Heartbreaking :sad2:
The looks on little kids' faces was absolutely priceless, including my own. Such a simple and small thing but so very fun.
RIP PUSH:sad:

Geez, Disney. You know by now the way to make a problem go away is simply to throw money at it. Just buy the guy out and keep PUSH going. I don't want to have to explain to my grandkids why he isn't there.

PUSH left Tomorrowland backstage last night. His room is empty.

I saw him in December waiting for the parade and he had everyone cracking up.

Looks like both Disney and the contractor stood their ground, Disney loses a popular character and the contractor loses a steady job, everyone loses (including us fans).

Sad to see PUSH go.

From what I read most recently, it sounded like the contractor took the issue to the press with the "save Push" battle cry to get the fans riled up and pressure Disney. I don't think that's a very smart negotiating tactic when you are the little guy. Disney probably felt they could never give in to that kind of approach because it would encourage others to try the same tactic when their contracts were being negotiated.

You never know, it could get worked out eventually, out of the limelight.

I guess when push came to shove...

(sorry, couldn't help it, and if I didn't someone else would have)

Whatever the reason behind this, it's simply disappointing. Another bit of Disney magic going away. It's a shame.

We never had the pleasure of seeing Push. On the one hand, that's a bummer. On the other hand I won't have to explain his disappearance. My girls were totally bummed when they took Mickey and Minnie's houses away. We had taken pictures of them in the gazebo every year. Happily I bought the tiny replica of Minnie's house and DD7 still plays with it from time to time. It's kind of like never having to say goodbye.

On that vein... we have this adorable little set with the train, some rides and characters. It is teeny tiny. Some friend of my daughter's swiped the tiny Peter Pan ten years ago. Grrrr.

I'm pretty bummed that PUSH is gone. I loved PUSH and I was hoping my kids would get a chance to see PUSH again now that they are older and will have better memories of him. The last time they saw PUSH they were only 3 and 1. Oh well, life goes on. What I am more upset about is I feel like I was lied to by Disney. Just 2 days ago a Disney rep told the Orlando Sentinel that PUSH isn't going any where, now 2 days later, he's gone. Yes, I'm sure a lot can change in 2 days such as the apparent lack of contract renewal, but I still feel lied to. Not the end of the world but more than anything, it puts a dent in Disney's reputation in my eyes a bit. It's more of a personal thing with me than anything else...my own personal hangups on the matter. I'm just sad and disappointed. I wish Disney was more honest and straightforward. Losing PUSH was sad, but being lied to about it just salts it.

Anyway, here's an article I found on the topic: http://www.**************.net/2014/...-against-walt-disney-world-entertainment-cut/

It is very possible that when the rep for Disney told the Sentinal that PUSH was not leaving that, at that point, they really thought they had a deal. However, who knows what happened after that point. I also hesitate to "blame" Disney as who knows what the contractor wanted in the contract as we were not a part of the negotiations. Some contractors, when what they do is popular, can get a bit out of hand and become very demanding. Just because a company does well financially does not mean they should give in all the time.

Have never met Push but like everything in this world nothing is forever.

Things come and go even at Disney.

This is really disappointing news :(

My BF and I were just watching some YT videos of Push the other day, and were both really excited about trying to find him during our first WDW trip, this October.

In our favourite video, he warns a group to make sure they to the 'potty' before they go on Space Mountain, otherwise it might turn into Splash Mountain. :rotfl:

Very sad to hear this :sad2:. I just don't understand why Disney would release a statement squashing the "Rumor" that was going around this week when in fact they were going to do away with PUSH in actuality. We loved interacting with PUSH, he will surely be missed.

Sad news to hear...PUSH was always fun to interact with and to watch others interact with. It's hard to jugde with obviously none of us being part of the contract negotiations, but on the surface this, in my opinion, looks like a bad move by Disney. Regardless, PUSH will be missed! And while highly unlikely, its not completely impossible Disney and the Contractor still couldn't work out a deal in the future.

In the comments on EasyWDW someone mentioned this has now been removed from the Hub, hope this is true and means something has changed.
