Purple Magic Bands now an option

(We customized 4 sets of MB yesterday for our upcoming trip and APs..added the year this time to my name so that we could remember how old they were and to discard after 2 years to avoid missing ride photos)

I think adding the year is a great idea!

We arrive on Wed. so I feel you. I would have totally gotten purple.. Instead I have green.

I was confused because there was another thread regarding purple band (didn't realize it was an old thread) and thought it was special order to get purple.

I casually mentioned to my son today that I "think" purple might be available but not sure since people were posting "they hope purple happens soon" (again reading an old thread) and he checked out the site and told me it is available in purple. His friend who is going with us wanted purple but had to choose blue since purple wasn't available.

My son immediately changed her band to purple and made it bye ONE day to spare! Talking about close call. Good thing I mentioned it today! LOL!

Yea, I can finally order my AP band. I was purposely waiting for Purple to become available before ordering it. I already have multiples of most of the other colors. I finally thought to start putting the year on them for my trip last November so I can tell how old they are. Wish I had thought of it at least a year earlier though.

1. Little ones get one even when they're too young for a ticket so that they won't feel left out because everyone else has one. (Although obviously, a baby won't care, but it's probably just easier for Disney to send one for everyone than decide on a minimum age.)

2. You only get luggage tags with a package.

We had a package. We stayed on-site and got the resort rooms, the park tickets and the meal plan. We didn't get luggage tags--just magic bands.

That's odd because luggage tags have been included with packages since long before magic bands. I've read that the luggage tags come in the magic band box under the magic bands. Did you look there?

My DH was very excited to see purple as an option this past weekend. I honestly think that's when he truly got excited about the trip (me and DD are the Disney fans in the family).

I was going to post the same. I had no idea about luggage tags, just happened to see someone mention them under the bands on the DIS. I looked just before we left and there they were!
