Epilepsy Purple Day is March 26th. Please join us. Thanks for your support!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Founded in 2008, by nine-year-old Cassidy Megan of Nova Scotia, Canada, with the help of the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia, Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26, people from around the globe are asked to wear purple and spread the word about epilepsy.

Why? Epilepsy affects over 50 million people worldwide. That's more than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease combined.

Why purple? Lavender is the international colour for epilepsy.

Getting involved is easy. Wear purple and encourage others to do the same. Host a Purple Day party or fundraising event at your home, school or business. And most importantly, get real facts about epilepsy.

Edited to add a teriffic you tube video:

Thanks for the heads up!

Between our local high school colors being purple and white and all the LSU shirts in this house it will be easy to dress in purple. I think we could do it for about a month,

My daughter (18) and I were just talking last night about how much purple there is in this house. There is one entire closet in her room that is full of purple t-shirts, purple hoodies, purple jackets, purple boots, purple converse shoes, purple purses and (not all purple) prom dresses. Not to mention all the softball, club shirts, etc. She is a senior and has every t and hoodie from junior high up.

I have a nephew who had Epilepsy as a child but thankfully outgrew it. The need for support is very real.

:hug:Thanks for your comment: The need for support is very real.
That is so true. My daughter had it, her son has it and my brother has it. There are more cases of epilepsy than most realize.
