Purchasing Tickets Online? Directly to gate?

Do I gain anything purchasing my tickets on Disneyland.com? Will I just get a 'voucher' that I still have to go to the ticket booth to redeem or can we go directly to the gate?

I only have 1 day for a quick Mommy & Me with DD7 (next Saturday ) so I want to make the most of our time and don't want to spend it in line at the ticket booths.

You take the voucher directly to the gate, they scan the piece of paper and you get a small regular size ticket to use for FP and the rest of your trip.
Do that and skip the ticket booth!
