Purchasing tickets at the gate?

We have a good amount of Universal gift cards we would like to use on tickets. I’ve read these cannot be used to purchase tickets online and we will have to buy at the gate, day of.

My concern is if the park hits their capacity for the day and we will be shut out. Does anyone have a work-around? Or is there little chance of the park hitting capacity now?

Weekends and holidays have a fair decent potential for meeting capacity.

the work around is to be there before park opening in order to maximize the chance of getting in.

Capacity cut off is based on how many people have passed through the turn styles and not number of tickets sold. So whether you buy in advance or at the gate doesn't really matter from a capacity standpoint of getting in or not. You could have a date specific ticket for the exact day but if you arrive later and they're at capacity they won't let you in (for which you can get a refund on your ticket).

So if you get there early for rope drop you can go buy your tickets first you shouldn't have any issues.

Will you be in the area at all before your Universal day? If so, can you sneak over and buy your tickets when you aren't in a rush? Or at the Universal store at the airport? I would hate to waste valuable time day of to wait in a line for tickets.

Great, that’s what we were hoping. Thanks!

To note, from what I've been reading is that there is a ticket kiosk in city walk well before the main gates and the main ticket booths that I read have very short lines that might help. I don't know exactly where it is but I recall a previous post pointing out where it is.

That might save you some time if you are buying your tickets on-site.

Edit: Here is the thread it was talked about before

Good idea! Our universal day is the last day of our trip so we could find time to head over there beforehand.

Do they sell tickets at the universal store at mco? I haven’t heard of that but we will be flying in.
