Purchasing resale and then purchasing direct question

Does anyone know if I buy a contract through resale now after all these changes, and then buy some points directly from Disney afterwards, would we receive the membership ID card and all the perks? Or would the points just add on to the membership ID we would already have through the points we bought in resale and still not receive the membership card and perks? A little confused hoping someone could help!

My question is if we'll be allowed to buy the 25 as an add-on, or if we'll need to buy a base of 50. Since our contract hasn't closed yet (just passed ROFR on 4/4), we're in the new group of not-quite-full-members, so they could easily say that we can't do the add-on.

I haven't seen or heard anything about a restriction on the number of points for an add-on direct from DVC. I believe you could do a 25 point direct purchase once you're in the system.

i was wondering about the same thing as the OP. my other question was 'can you purchase add-on direct from DVC for any of the resorts? or only poly or aulani right now?

You can purchase any resort that they have points available for. There are a few resorts where they won't add anyone to the wait list for points.

If things haven't changed in the past couple months only VGF, BCV, and VGC have closed wait lists. However presuming the OP and/or any other posters want a specific use year at one of the other sold out resorts there could be a wait to obtain those points (and become a "direct" purchaser) as Disney doesn't always have points in every use year avail at sold out resorts.

Thank you! I just wanted to make sure that after purchasing resale, we would still be able to add on by buying direct and would then receive the membership card and perks by then becoming a direct purchaser.
