Purchasing one time use points

I'm planning a trip for August 2015 and want to stay at the VGF grand villa with my family of 9. If I use my banked points from 2013, 2014's points and borrow from next year I come up 26 points short. I know you can purchase up to 24 one time use points from member services. Has anyone ever gotten them to sell you more than the 24? In my case I would be shy 2 points after purchasing the 24. It would be a real disappointment not being able to get the room over 2 points or having to cut our vacation 1 day short because of the 2 points.

I'd suggest you start looking for someone on the Rent/Trade board who's willing to trade you up to the 26 points. It'd probably be cheaper and I kind of doubt Disney's going to 'bend' the rule for you. (I don't know for sure, but I sure wouldn't put my eggs in that basket.)

The only way to get more than 24 one time use points on a single reservation is to straddle two use years so that you buy up to 24 points for one UY and the additional amount you need in the next UY.

man your are really gutting your DVC for a stay like that why not check out the lake view one at BLT.....they have a lot of free days and its about 20% cheaper.....

i would call up MS and ask to speak to a supervisor about your situation and see if they can do something for you, the worse that can happen is they say no.

If you're set on that stay I'd look for a transfer. You'll likely have to do even more than the 26 points and then not borrow all of the points. Or you could reserve one day less and try for a cash room at 7 months out. Are there other ways you could save a day say on the arrival or departure, such as if arriving late stay off property and check in the next AM?
